George Van Winkle Sorry Rick NG,

I've got to rate this product a MAJOR FAIL. I downloaded the trial version. It called .BUP and .IFO files from completely different DVD images duplicates. With your cryptic "We combine several methods for the comparison" I had to test the product for myself on some data sets I knew had duplicates before spending money on it. After seeing its failures, I am glad I did.

Bradley MacDonald Looks like an interesting program.

How do you determine duplicates? File Size? File Names? File Content? Can it be configured as to what you use to determine duplicates? Perhaps set thresholds?

It will check duplicates based on the file contents. You may also run the settings for more options.

George Van Winkle What changes to your software have you made since early 2/2017? I tried it back then and had to rate it an absolute failure because it labeled files duplicates when they weren't and didn't flag some actual duplicates. Oh, and the cryptic "it will check duplicates based on file contents" does not adequately answer Bradley MacDonald's question. Do you use a hash value to compare contents? If so, what hashing algorithm? MD5? SHA1? SHA256?

Bradley MacDonald Rick - I have been playing with the software - in terms of finding duplicates.
It appears that I cannot choose a list of file Extensions that I want. I can only choose your preset values. Is that correct?

I like the interface - fairly simple and clear. But it seems to lack some flexibility - such as the one I note here - the ability to select my own list of file extensions (or names). Or am I missing something?

You can choose to scan for all files if the file extension you want is not listed there.
