Hum... It's getting GOTD bis over there...
I'm not complaining as free stuff is (almost) always great to grab.

That said, as BDJ purchases, even for free, come direct from the vendor, one must give his full name, email...
It sometimes happens at GOTD, but in such cases we are generally granted with a customer account at the vendor website, from which we can redownload, reinstall and retrieve serials...

Going throught a purchase process (even free !) for a license useable only 5 days seems not that fair to me.
I don't pecularly need photo sorter, as I sort them manually as soon as I copy them out of the camera.
But should I be interested in owning this nice software, I'd much rather a 70% ou even a 50% discount, than a free stripped down license.

In a nutshell, I just download and am ready to go (GOTD business model) : OK to me, even a stripped down license...
Purchase process (BDJ model), I'd rather pay a small fee for a full license than paying nothing for a limited license.

Just my 2 pennies, but thanks anyway BDJ and easysector :)

BDJ has so many really good software products and prices that this particular deal, even at 100% discount with the 5 day activation limit, seems a bit sour so I will pass.

I've been using PaperPort for years and it is terrific at handling not only photos but documents of all sorts. Just thought I would take a look at something different. Thanks for the help.

Oliver Solano More often than not, free stuff comes with strings attached. At the end of the day it is free and nobody is forcing anyone to take the deal. Its simple, if you dont like the strings attached, dont take the deal.

Having said that, I also believe there is nothing wrong with expressing your opinions and giving feedback as long as you do it in a proper way.

However, the thing about opinions and feedback is that they are also free, so BDJ and the vendors are not really forced to accept them or do what you tell them.

But, at the end of the day, BDJ can also learn, grow and improve from user opinions and feedback, but it is their choice to do so.

Louis H No problem here with the "restrictions." If I download a freebie that cannot be installed again after the time limit, and then find it to be of great value to me, I'll go ahead and purchase the program if it's that useful to me.

My concerns with this program is that as far as I can tell, it only works for JPEGS. I do almost all of my shooting in a RAW format and thus it serves me little purpose in the initial sorting of my photos prior to processing.

Yesterday I was out with two of my grand kids and ended up with over 500 images. Before this program can be of use to me I will need to use another program to sort through them to decide which ones I want to save for viewing and actually process.

If this program allowed for sorting of RAW images, I would gladly purchase it at full price. Short of that it offers me little reason to do so if I ever need to reinstall it.

The above so stated, I do like how it sorts my folders with JPEGS. So my request would be to allow for sorting of other image formats.

Dmitry Goncharenko vb w60, Our software is much more simple than Picassa and some others, but, the difference is in a type of sorting. Most of the competitors create virtual albums without real sorting of files on hard drive. Easy Photo Sorter sort files on hard drive without creation of albums. Its just different approach.

DiggerP @vb w60 , I suggest you do your own comparison.
In fact ,on the Easy Photo Sorter webpage a comparison is made with Picasa. Picasa doesn't copy the photos ,just links to them.
Easy Photo Sorter does copy them and sort them by various properties. Keep in mind though that this will double the size on disk of your collections.
If that's what you want (duplicates) then fine.
If not ,this program may not be for you ,free or not.

My advice in general: If you see a program come up on BDJ ,download the trial version even before it goes on sale.
Try it ,read all about it ,whether positive or negative comments ,
incl. comments about support or the lack of it.
Compare it with other similar software ,freeware and shareware.
Then make up your mind as to whether the subsequent offer is
to your liking as to price ,restrictions etc
If you do ,get it. If not , give it a pass. it's that simple :)
Google (or any good search engine) is your friend :)

Dmitry Goncharenko Hi, Adobe applications create virtual albums, so you do not touch files on hard drive directly. I hate this situation - I want to control my files. So, best sorting of the files based on folders structure and the best sorting option for photo is sorting by date (chronology). Thats why we have created Easy Photo Sorter.

If I go to "register" it brings me a window for user name and serial nr. Then I go to "Get Code" whicht brings me to MyCommerce site with no options other than paying for the software. Surely Im in the dark corner now. Please help.

Bill Roth You should have gotten an email from BitsDuJour. The user name and registration key are in that email. Simply click register when the software opens and then cut and paste the user name and password. Simple as that.

Bill Roth When you first open the software there is a register now link in the lower left hand corner of the screen right below the checkbox for keep folde structure. Once you have registered the software this link disappears. If it isn't there, try uninstalling the software and then re-installing it.

Edward Blais Bill, I did what you suggested. I removed with Revo UnInsaller, and downloaded and reinstalled. Same Problem. Bill Roth Revo should have removed any registry entries relating to the software so I am not sure why you are not seeing the register link.

At this point I think you need someone from the software company to respond. I am just an end user like you sharing what I experienced while installing the software.

You could try downloading the software again and then install from the new download. I had no problems with the install and register.

Try to sort photos. If you have no limitation ( processing of 200 photos) - software is registered.

Free Ride Hello Dmitry, i just want to mention that the German Fotosortierer setup has Dutch instead of German as setup language, the program itself has a fairly accurate translation. The version number seems to be 3.1.0.40 for both (english and german).

I got the same thing initially. Do not use your name as the User Name. If you notice, the email from BitsDuJour shows the user name as BitDuJour and then the key. You need to use BitsDuJour as the user name then the key will validate.

Ralph Bressler Sadly, the program does not work. It installed and registered correctly. It found the 39000+ photos I had in a folder with many sub folders. It said it sorted them all. It wrote only a small fraction of the pictures to the output folder. Has anyone had the same experience? Does anyone know the solution?

Revo uninstaller does not remove everything; otherwise many demos could be 'reset' ad infinitum.

Which part of this 39000+ photos have an EXIF data? If this just all images on C\: - most of them will not be sorted. Easy Photo Sorter works with photos done by camera.

So what's the deal here? What about the other parameters?:

Ralph Bressler ALL the photos were taken by me with various cameras. The most notable absence are all the photos from 2013 which were taken with a Canon SX40HS. I will check the EXIF data and let you know.

I just checked the EXIF data on about 20 random pictures from 2006 to 2013. ALL had the EXIF data intact including the date and time. None were include in the sorted photos. Any thoughts?

Edward Blais Dear Bill,
Today, Sunday 4-7-13, I decided ONE Last Time to Download and Install this program.
I went through the Usual Set Up Procedures, and when I clicked on the Program, LO AND BEHOLD!! THERE IT WAS! The REGISTER Key in yellow on the bottom left of the program. IT WAS NOT THERE for the PREVIOUS Six Times I tried and UnInstalled with Revo Pro.
I call this a SUNDAY MIRACLE!
I then tried the Your Program, and it Works Flawlessly!!
Thank you again for addressing my concerns.

Danny Exactly 5 days, after those 5 days it is also impossible to reinstall the application after the crashes or at new pc purchase. A limitation?!?

S R So do you have to physically sort and rename each photo in the folder? I seem to be missing the advantage of this software.

Ralph Bressler I sent a second e-mail with only two pictures and it "bounced". I sent ANOTHER e-mail with two pictures to the other address you supplied and am waiting. I tried sorting one of the subfolders in the large folder that will not sort. It seemed to work OK although I did not check every picture. Why?

Michael Paul This question is for the Easy Photo sorter person: The registration receipt I received had my user name as "BitsDuJour". My name is not BitsdDJour but, unfortunately, entering it in the field was the only way to register it. Does everyone who takes advantage of this offer get assigned the user name "BitsDuJour"?

Ralph Bressler Ok, I expected to have some response by now. For those that found the program "flawless", did you try it on a large collection of photos spread over several folders? To the vendor, what is going on? Right now the program is useless to me as I cannot trust it to reliably sort and copy ALL my images to the new folder!

Ralph Bressler Since the program will sort SOME photos, I doubt that the problem is in the photos themselves. I don't have any evidence but I think the problem is in the number of photos or the folder structure and how the program processes that structure.

Edie Murgia Thanks but no thanks. The user is Bitsdujour, You have to register in five days and since I am in the middle of backing up and switching to a new computer. This program won't allow me to do that. It may be a good program, but the 100% version has too many restriction.

Danny Yes, as long as you have activated the free program on your pc and as long as there's nothing happened with your pc that you screwed back need to install is there then no problem! This is just one time perishable license! OK! But be ye just honest and say so without verbiage!

Dmitry Goncharenko Guys, all conditions were clear from the beginning. 5 days and so on. If you don't like this offer don't use it.

And yes, it's not freeware, it's shareware temporary for free at Bitsdujour.

We have no license activation on our server for this small software, so we must limit time to register with 5 days.

De plus une seule configuration est possible :
Celle avec la forme de cœur.
L'inscription du logiciel est impossible même par copier/coller.
Il y a un module internet depuis Chrome qui vaut 100 fois mieux car en plus il y a une interactivité entre les icône constituant la figure (ici le cœur) et l'image originale qui est appelée et ouverte en cliquant sur son icône.

This software is a pure humbug!
Over one configuration is possible:
The one with the heart shape.
Registration Software can not even copy / paste.
There is a module for Chrome internet which is 100 times better because there is more interaction between the icon constituting the figure (by heart) and the original image is called and opened by clicking on its icon.

The person wrote in French and it auto translated below. Different languages use different sentence structures - so the English translation seems confused.

The person may have posted to the wrong BDJ program page. They're saying a chrome extension does a better job as a "photo mosaic" program, than this does. Easy Photo Sorter is not a photo mosaic program.

A photo mosaic program, makes a design (like a heart shape) out of any collection of photos you give it. Easy Photo Sorter ORGANIZES your photos by date, it's not a graphic design program.

We have met this situation twice among more than 3000 users. Look - like the problem in PC, but what is exactly happend is not clear now.

Ralph Bressler @Arlene I believe the author of the unusual comment looked at the design displayed when the program runs. It has a heart shaped photo mosaic. The author simply did not take the time to see what the program does! The comment should be removed since it has NOTHING to do with photo sorting.

Edie Murgia @Dmitry, I did go back and look at what the program offered and the conditions. I ened up installing it and I have to save honestly, I really do like it. On my end, it is fun and easy to use. My problem is: I download and test a lot of software and my system has become overcrowded with programs and processes. Yours is one of the programs I would like to keep. That was my initial concern and complaint but you have answered every question thoroughly.

I will have to clean out this pc before I buy a new one (I need this one for other uses). And I will take you up on your offer to get a new user name and SN. BTW I am a Lady. ;-)
