What are people saying about Edraw Max

Software Guy This is a great program. I was skeptical at first, but after using it I find it indispensible. It is a do everything graphics program - mind maps, flow charts, org charts, even floor plans. Once you master the initial concept, it is easy and fast. You can put together a process diagram in minutes, and import it into powerpoint for presentations. If you have the need to use any type of graphics program, please take a look at this one. You will be pleasantly surprised!

Daniel H I have this program and it is good. I only miss some cliparts for medicine and/or biology. If it would be filled with some "huge" clipart/picture library (cell membrane, mitochondria, schemes for liver, lungs and others) then it could be easily used for drawing pictures for textbooks and review articles.

Ribbon Hater I downloaded this program from GOTD. It is very nice, easy to use and I highly recommend it. My only complaint has to do with personal preference. I hate the ribbon and I hate the huge panels which take such a big bite out of the work space (Yes, I know you can close them down, but then you need them again). It is an issue - for me - with every kind of application but especially for graphic programs so I am having to look elsewhere.

Mr. Yoop First, Edraw Max is really a great diagramming software. With the ribbon-based user interface it is simple to use but offers powerful functionality for an adequate price.

Concerning the Bits du Jour offer, I have some questions: How are future updates to a new major version like Edraw Max 5.0 handled? On Edraw's website, a so-called lifetime upgrade guarantee is offered that also covers all forthcoming major versions. Is it part of Bits du Jours offer or can it be purchased additionally together with the offer?

Another question is if the offered Edraw Max version can be installed by one user on two PCs, e.g. desktop and laptop.

Thanks for your support,

Yoop

Edrawsoft Edraw Max 5.0 will be mostly released in September. So it's free to upgrade within the 12 months free upgrade timeline.

The lifetime upgrade guarantee is also available for the additional purchase.

Nick Kobe Hi!

I would like to purchase Edraw Max. However, the purchase depends on the licensing. I have a desktop computer and several laptops. I'm the only user of these computers. Can I purchase one copy and install it on these computers or do I have to purchase a copy for each computer?

Thanks!

Nick

Edrawsoft Buy One Get One Free
Our single user license allows one user to install Edraw product on two computers as long as that user is the only user of the software. (For example, you could install it on both a laptop and your home computer.)

Alan I would love to try this program out. I am not allowed to install software on my work computer, but would this be able to be run from a usb drive? I would count the work computer as 1 of my 2 installs allowed, but I just can't actually install it.
Thanks,
Alan

Daniel H I bought this software more than a year ago (these times it was still covered under lifetime upgrade policy so I hope I will get the new v5 as well :)). I re-installed several times my PC, transferred licence from one PC (notebook) to another (desktop PC) and more recently due to motherboard failure and developpers were always helpfull in allowing transfer by resetting activation count. The product requires activation and no single lic.key file is created during this process so you would need to contact them in case of re-install/re-reformat which is the only drawback. Nevertheless, the e-mail reply was always rather fast.
I would only expect some molecular biology/medical objects (Cell, Golgi, Liver, Heart, Anatomy charts etc) to be included similarly to what SmartDraw Healthcare offers.

Does the Max version include all the features of the individual ones like Edraw Flowchart Professional, Edraw Organizational Chart Professional, etc.

Michael R Being not the typical diagram-user, because of the good quality of the diagrams, the diversity and the reasonable price I am thinking about buying your software.

If I do so, ist it allowed to use created diagram or a symbol as part of a commercial - not EDraw Max like - documentation (like book, ebook, etc.) or program (e.g. use such a symbol inside a button to click on)?

Software Guy To all that have an interest - I have been using this software for some time now and find it to be excellent. Customer support is great. There is a small conceptual learning curve, but in a couple of hours you will have the software mastered. It can be used to add graphical, visual impact to any points that you wish to make. Yields a much more polished output than simple powerpoint slides. I recommend it.

Peter pereh OK, to get lifetime upgrade: when added EDraw to the basket, click 'continue shopping' (I translated, actual text may differ), navigate to EDraws site, Sales FAQ, Price, Upgrade Policy, link to upgrade center and add lifetime upgrade to the basket.
Maybe there is a simpler way...

Thanks for the hint...
I nearly was about to give up, but regnow seems to remember the former input, even if you go directly to another site (EDraw's). I even could remove the originally placed EDrawMax-product itself (I bought this one some hours ago, before knowing about a lifetime update). Even if on the first page there was the original price of $29.xx going one page further there was the reduced price with 50% discount.

So finally I have bought my first commercial product with a lifetime upgrade....

marek jedlinski There seems to be a problem with the discount. On the first RegNow page (after redirection), the price is correct , $49.98 USD. However, after clicking "Order Now" and moving to the order form, the price is listed as $99.95, and this is the amount that RegNow tries to charge.

I wonder if RegNow can fix it before the discount expires...

Oliver Mathes Will I be able to include the Lifetime Upgrade Option during checkout with this deal or is this only available when ordering from your website?

As a suggestion you should make a comparison chart for your products.
One can find it in one of the FAQs but it is not easily available from the product overview page on your site.

Tore Hoyem This looks very nice, and as I'm a compulsive software purchaser, I was starting to despair at yet another BTJ offer I "just couldn't pass up". Luckily I noticed this software is activation based, and limited to 2 machines, so I can safely pass for once :-) (Yes, I know they offer to help in case you need to migrate to a 3rd machine, but I've been burned before when developers went out of business, making my purchase useless)

Rich Samson I really want to like EDraw Max and last time I trialled the software I nearly purchased, the only thing holding me back was the poor PDF output. Basically it seemed to only output a PDF file with an embedded image inside, meaning diagrams couldn't be searched for text. The program also lacked PDF output parameters needed when creating large detailed diagrams, so you'd just end up with one page and very small graphics. Does anyone know if this has been improved as decent output seems to be the main thing holding the program back?

Software Guy EdrawMAX is a friendly graphics program which I have used for years. The developer offfers a lifetime license upgrade for an additional $49.50 here:

Compare it to Visio or Smartdraw and you will see that it is an economical alternative, especially with the additional purchase of the lifetime upgrades.

HarBri Problems trying to buy. Although I am a registered VAT business in the UK and should not be charged VAT, the payment system did not recognise this and kept displaying the extra payment for 20% VAT.

I pay enough taxes to the UK Government and flatly refuse to pay a tax which I am not liable to pay.

Unfortunately I have declined to buy this software as the buying process did not recognise my VAT-free status.

Also concerned about being forced to register for annual renewals.

I wish to be clear on one point: If we purchase the software using the no-renewals link, then purchase the lifetime upgrade, it is as if we paid the annual renewal fees for a lifetime, correct? If so, that that is a very nice offer indeed, in my opinion. :)

Daniel Gaudet Unfortunately I would not recommend this product if you are looking at using it to build UML diagrams for a few reasons. For the most part from a UML perspective, this is a basic diagramming solution with a bunch of clip-arts available.

I purchased it for building different UML documents. I have Viso for my work laptop and I though I would use this on my personal systems. Unfortunately it has no understanding on the different diagrams that you are building since it's just a diagramming tool. Everything has to be done manually. It does not know the particularities of UML diagrams. The documentation makes no mention of UML diagrams. I've used free tools that have more features than Edraw Max when it comes to building UML diagrams.

It compares itself to Viso, but it's a far way from being a Viso replacement if you want to have a quick nice looking UML documents where you need to have any level of data assign to the diagrams.

Also, I sent a request for some help to see how I could streamline the building sequence diagrams and possibly script it like is possible in other solutions via their contact form and it's been over a month and a half and I have yet to hear anything back from them.

If all you need is a tool to build free-draw diagrams and/or need a lot of clip-art and you don't mind lackluster support (at least in my case), then maybe this is something you can use. For UML diagrams, I would think twice.

the Software functionallity seems to be good, but the restrictive online Hardware footprinted activation procedure can be the dealbreaker

does 2 installations per footprint mean, that even when formatting harddisk and setting up Windows on the same pc again (which pc manufactures recommend at least once a year, not speaking about additional necessity e.g. when having Software or Driver incompatibilities or hardware-failures) the activation Counter will already be zeero after the second iinstall?

how is that handled when buying lifetime license - lifetime license with such a restrictive user policy would not make sense at all

thank xou for claryfing
