John User Yeah, I'm a little confused about the wording on the licensing for the pro version. I got the Standard version and I like it very much - enough so that it supplanted the backup program (Genie Timeline) I had been using. Now the Professional version is available at a very good price, but...

The website calls the license purchased "perpetual." Could you explain what that means? Your comment to Mario seems to imply to me that there will be an annual charge for updates to the perpetual license. I realize that I could skip the update and accompanying charge if I like, but generally I want to keep my software current with the latest version possible. However, I'm not sure I want to fork out money every year to update.

Thank you for an excellent backup program - I particularly like the synch feature.

Michael Vashin (Author) License key is really not limited by time. As a rule, the program works fine without updating. You can update the program rarely (for example, every 3 years) and get the latest version during one year after update. Updating will be cost about 30% from the license cost.

Dennis Johnson Rats! Foiled again!

I downloaded the trial yesterday to see if this app would suit my needs for downloading online websites to my computer hard drive.

I found it easy to configure for that use, but was also looking for a way to download sites with databases. If your site runs on a db, it's rather pointless to back it up to your hard drive if you don't include the db that's required for the site to operate and holds all the data.

Then the power went out. :(

It didn't come back on until this morning. And now the deal's expired.

I would have purchased and sorted out the db issue in time. Hopefully they offer it for the sale price again soon.

Daniel User Always interested in a good backup program. Some questions:

A
1) Updating again: In some comment its written that there is perpetual lic. To me this means lifetime.
2) At another point its mentionned that there will ba yearly lic upgrade fee of USD 20. Every year, every lic (I need 3 or 4).
3) At another location is written, that the yearly fee will be 30% of the lic price. Every year, every lic.
==> Keeping the SW will be pricey,

VSS handling was very mandatory for any serious backup program, already in Win7. Why this mechanism did it to your SW so late?
Question going same direction as 64bit version Might it be, that the backbone of this program is quite outdated and many years many updeates coming?

A) The license is lifetime. You can use the program as long as you wish (license is not limited in time). Updates are paid but not required. First year updates are free of charge. Subscription renewal cost for 1-year updates is $19. To update 3-4 licenses you don't need to pay for each license (you enough to pay 1 license)

B) Sorry, this promotion without volume discounts. As mentioned above for updating 3-4 licenses you enough to pay 1 license

We wanted to add VSS support earlier, but as practice has shown, approximately 5-10% of users need VSS support.
The 64-bit version is not planned yet, but we will probably do it in the future. Programs like Exiland Backup are almost out of date.
