Lewis Everall You probably had a free version of FILEminimizer pictures before. and this is noted somewhere on your PC. and so your PC remembers the old free version. But that's not a problem you know you now have one commercial targets license

Mike B I have used the "Personal Free" version of FILEMinimizer for a long time.

I also have a paid license for FILEMinimizer Suite, but I prefer the way the free version works for pictures. Go figure.

Activation of the "Commercial Free" version offered here went without a hitch.

Albin User Albin Zayglin Hi, Is this program not compatible with a 4K screen. I had to use a magnifier software to get it registered. On my 15.6" screen the registration box was only about 1.5 x 2 inches. with the program at full screen only the text in the top headers is large enough to read.

Albin User Albin User re: my question above on 4K screen compatibility, I should have mentioned that I actually purchased and installed the FILEminimizer Suite with the Premium package. I have had good experiences with Balesio software before (All Capture), so I hope there is a way for this to work with the 15.6" 2160 x 3840 screen. This is on a Dell laptop running Win.10 Pro, everything updated.

I’ll be careful as a brief look through comments will show you the developer is very defensive. Programs coded properly for Windows 10 will scale to your display…no more fixed coding… however, sometimes you’ll find programs that “work” with Windows 10 but they still have not fixed the code for dynamic scaling in Win 10 and you end up with everything looking tiny. So, yes, there are problems with the age of the coding with this program. It is a problem in Windows 10 (only) viewed on any high or ultra DPI displays. The workaround of changing your display resolution to something lower defeats the purpose of having an HD display. Ironic, too, considering this application is all about photos and quality. You should set your display to bring out the best in properly coded/updated programs - not go backwards in time to be compatible with programs developed by those who choose not to update their work. Hope this explains the problem here with the program UI looking very small.

I did not use a free version of FILEminimizer pictures before and and therefore this is not noted "somewhere" on my PC and so my PC can not remember the old free version!!!

This is definitely true for me. Is there some way to clear that? I tried uninstalling/reinstalling but that didn't help.

Thank you, that worked for me.

I don't know if having the commercial license info show up in the About dialog really does anything useful. I'm pretty much hoping that the occasional nag gets removed. The Personal Free version doesn't nag often, but if I can get rid of it altogether that's fine by me. Only time will tell
