Bruce Hi, I click to get the product, which says it is both Mac and PC, but only a PC .exe file downloads. How does one get the Mac version (probably would be a .dmg or zipped .dmg file). Thx.

Constantin Florea I am sorry about the issue. The promotion was marked incorrectly as being for both Mac and PC. The promotion is only for PC.

Mario Balzic OK, so I received the email and successfully installed. However, there is a problem. I run Win XP Pro on a laptop. I have several devices attached, a PCMCIA SDcard reader, a 250mb ZIP drive and a 16gb Cruz USP flash drive. The software fails to find the USB drive, but DOES find the SD card and ZIP drive!

Mario Balzic Another problem has arisen. I've repeated this twice, with consistent results. Still no finding the USB drive, only the SD card reader and USB ZIP drive. So, I selected the zip drive and clicked on SCAN, and then NOTHING. The screen changes with empty fields (select files to recover and preview fields) and a RECOVER button. AND there is no CANCEL button or any other way OUT except to CLOSE the program! I waited for minutes and nothing happened. My zip drive access light never lit up. The task manager says the program is RUNNING, but the processes window shows 0% CPU usage and 5728K of memory used. So, what? Does that mean there are no files to recover? If so, how about SAY so, or at least give a status bar or a spinner or something to show the program is still alive! IS the program still alive??? All indication I have now indicates the program has stalled even though the task manager sees it is running, but with 0% CPU use and no drive access light? Am I beta testing here or what? The ONLY change I've seen is memory use increased to 6080K after 5 minutes of otherwise non-activity. I'll uninstall now. I don't have time to do your beta testing on what is apparently a program with fatal errors. Let me know when you have something that works. The 3rd time I looked just now, memory use is up to 6328K after 8 minutes of absolutely nothing else. At least when i clicked the CLOSE button, it seems to have ended itself cleanly without crashing the system. Thanks, but no thanks.

Constantin Florea @Oray Tuglan - It is not enough to like the page in Facebook. You would have to browse to the promotion page (when the promotion is active) and click on the Get This Deal button. Then go all the way to the final checkout page at which point the receipt email will be sent to your email address. Our system cannot send a receipt email if you did not reach the check out page.

I have searched by your email and first and last name but did not find a sale associated with this promotion. If you did participate in the promotion but used another name or email, please send those to us here: notify@bitsdujour.com so we may search by them as well.

Constantin Florea @Carlos H - Could you please ensure that you are using the installer from the receipt email you received? The key will only work with that installer. The key will not work with the installer downloaded from the product site.

John User Your software doesn't work and it keeps crashing. I'm running Windows 7 and I keep getting this message:

"Runtime Error! This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information".

You really should test your software before releasing it!!!!

Installed using the installer from the receipt email. The program crashes when trying to register it using the keyboard to input the key or using copy-paste.

Message from Windows:

"SoftOrbits Flash Drive Recovery dejó de funcionar"

pestoking After reading the messages about problems with this app, I decided to see what was up. I used the special installer and the key code that was emailed. To register, the program requires the key code plus an email address. Any email address? Yes, my test showed you can enter ANY email address. The program does phone home, so if you have a firewall it can be the source of an installation crash. I was able to duplicate the install crash with my firewall in manual operation. But the program did eventually load properly. In terms of recovering deleted files from a thumb drive, I got inconsistent results. I created a simple text file with Windows Notepad, copied it to a 16GB thumb drive, deleted the file and tried to recover. The app displayed a list of deleted files on the thumb drive, but when I selected the test file to recover, the recovered version was full of gibberish.

The original text file had this one line: This program has bugs. #fail.

The recovered file had this: åA c c e s  Hs ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ ÿ

I then found an old 64MB thumb drive and first did a full format, then copied the same text file to it and deleted it. This time it succeeded.

Verdict: inconsistent results depending on the condition of the thumb drive. Further testing needed with other thumb drives.

Tony O. Got the flash drive finally..may i add from my observations it does just what it says...flashdrive recovery...i gather this doesn't do usb drives and some customers may think it does...or am i wrong in thinking this?

The program doesn't open up any drives unless u have a flashdrive so i'm guessing its not USB recovery either..(but then again, isn't a flashdrive plugged into a USB port??? Please explain.

JamesCGW Hi Constantin Florea,

Both my son and I downloaded the Flash Drive Recovery software last night and both of us had trouble getting it installed. We finally did get it installed but since it was past the registration time it failed to register. Is there any way possible to get it registered?
