adrian williams I bought it and then realised that the folders are hidden only on the PC running the software - any other PC on the LAN can see the folders - what use is that ?

'completely inaccessible to others' so they claim - just plug a crossover cable into the PC and you've full access again !!

I've emailed the writers and await a reply - and a refund if the software cannot prevent network users viewing the folders. - I'll report back on findings.

Anatoliy Sadovskiy MagneticSoft did not declare at supports a network in Folder Castle. Folder Castle cannot hide the folders from network users.

For this reason Folder Castle has two modes. The first mode allows to hide files and folders instantly without moving them to any secret folder. This mode is recommended for quick hiding not especially important data from prying eyes.

In second mode for improved security you can encrypt your data by putting them onto Secure Storage. The information on Secure Storage is encrypted by cryptographic algorithm Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) with 256-bit key length. Secure Storage is recommended for storage of especially important data, such as information about bank accounts, credit cards numbers, any passwords, confidential documents, e-mail messages, photos and many other sensitive data.

In your case it is necessary to use Secure Storage.

adrian williams Thank you Anatoliy for clarifying the situation, your prompt reply by email does you credit. Functionally, theres nothing wrong with the program if it is used in the right way (and be aware of the visibility on networks) its a good piece of software.
