What are people saying about FormsAssistant

John Winkleburn I am trying to purchase this product but the pricing is the full retail price. There are no coupon codes noted, and I have gone all the way to the end and it does not show the discounted price or any inclination that the price will be changed before the payment method is processed or something. Please assist so I can purchase this software at the awesome price!

Regards.

DH007 Do I need the software installed for both creating and using templates or I can create the templates with the software and then spread the templates to other users with no Forms Assistant installed?

Manuel Onate The forms that ForrmsAssistant uses are just normal documents. You really need it when filling the forms, because that is when it will "assist" you. On the other hand, since the forms are normal documents, you can also use them without FormsAssistant, but then you will have to replace the values manually.

HJ B 1. Can a form created with this program be exported to pdf in way that permits it to be a pdf form, with whatever bells and whistles were embedded in the word form? I assume not, but the question is worth asking in view of Word's present capability to create pdfs.

2. If one needs the program in order to take advantage of the automated fill in capabilities, then does that mean if I send the form to anyone, they must purchase the program in order to have that automated capability?

2. Word has certain field functions that automate some form capabilities. Does this program take advantage of any of those field functions?

Manuel Onate Thank you very much for your questions.

FormsAssistant uses a completely different paradigm than PDF or Word forms. FormsAssistant forms are normal documents with a special markup to identify the places in the document where variable information should be placed. The program is used to facilitate the process of filling-in these variables, reusing previously entered data.

Answering your questions:

1. No, you won't get a PDF form if you export a FA form to PDF.
2. Yes, because the program is used to fill the forms
3. Yes, you can use Word field functions to complement FA.

I suggest that you take a look at the short tutorial that is available in our web site at the top of the page describing FormsAssistant to understand the concept.

Allan User I purchased FA (FormsAssistant [MOM19xxxx-6xxx8-8xxxxx]), did the install and the Addon doesn't show up.

Did a direct download from momsoftco.com and installed again, still the Addon doesn't show up.

Also the link from the installed Word doc has a link that is 404:
. For a complete explanation on how to setup FormsAssistant on Word, refer to the online demos available at our web site (http://www.momsoftco.com/...t_demo.htm).

A little help please :)

HJ User I installed the application. It does not show itself when I open Word. Four buttons appear in a separate window titled FormsAssistant Installation Check. One is highlighted in red. When I press on that button, it tells me that the application cannot figure out what version of Word is installed. I have the current on-line version, up to date. No other version.

What next?

Manuel Onate I see the problem. The download link is outdated. Please visit our website and ensure that you are downloading the current version.
Also, I will try to update the download link on the promotion page of BitsDuJour.

HJ User The program is now installed. I cannot find any indication of a pdf instruction manual. The only help appears to be in the form of a chm file that is part of the program menu structure.

Do you have a printable instruction manual? I cannot understand the perspective of software producers that do not have a printable manual that details commands, methods, examples and program specifications. Depending upon the program, users can put in a good deal of time and effort attempt to learn what and how a program can and cannot do things.

The BDJ description of every program it offers should clearly specify whether and where there is a pdf manual for the program.

Manuel Onate I am sorry, no we do not have a printed manual just the help file, but I believe that the help file explains how the program works.

Getting started with PowerForms is really easy. You just introduce fields on your document by surrounding them with brackets and the use FormsAssistant to fill in these fields.

Thank you very much for your interest.

HJ User I disagree. If it is so easy, write a brief manual.

The problem is that top those who write a program or who already know how to use the problem, everything is easy.

A good manual not only helps the user or prospective user, it also helps to sell the program.
