Dunking The installer directly installs from the internet. Is there an offline installer so the product can be backed up?

Edit: forget that. After installing the demo some file (MFPlat.dll) couldn't be found and my PC then rebooted. Whether it crashed or was auto-restarted makes no difference - it didn't ask or give me a chance to do anything.

Tried to uninstall but got a dialog "Internal error: Cannot find utCompiledCode record for this version of the uninstaller."

This is pants, isn't it?

Dunking Sorry, I deleted it right after posting that. I tried running the uninstaller manually, and via the .bat file and got various other missing file errors, so just wiped the lot.

Ian F I tried twice to install the demo version.

The first time the install failed. The second time I was invited to accept the Terms and Conditions by ticking a box (which had not happened the first time).

It got as far as 68% and then I received a message (sic) :

"install failed,please tray it again"

I gave up.

Rohs As a follow up. How does Fotosifter use the internet to "ensure" best performance? What offline materials require the internet? I am trying to find out how the software uses the internet to function? Also as another user mentioned, I am curious how to get an installer for offline installation?

First it does not seem to work at all,

Second, what exactly is the purpose of forcing everyone to use an online installer?

Third, when installed, what exactly does it require the internet connection for?

Fred Thorndyke I have tried 4 times to install this software.
However, like others here I have given up trying - all I get is the Install screen and the Terms acceptance box , which i have ticked. That is as far as I can get as it just drops off when I click install. Never had this much trouble in twenty years of computer use.How do I get a refund as i have no faith in this software.
