Skype is truly a revolution in communications technology, and more and more people are using it for business, distance learning, and social chats every day. But unless you're particularly adept at keeping notes during your conversations, chances are that once you log out of a Skype call, most of that information will be lost or forgotten. That is, unless you use G-Recorder!

G-Recorder records Skype conversations and stores them as MP3 files in your Gmail account, where they remain searchable and accessible by you no matter where you are. You can even play back the file without even leaving Gmail!

G-Recorder Pro extends its email support to include Yahoo!, AOL, MS Exchange, Google Apps, or any other IMAP-based email service. G-Recorder Pro also adds valuable features like searchable "Call and Chat notes" and automatic call/ chat forwarding to preconfigured email addresses.

There is no learning curve to tackle -- once you install G-Recorder Pro, all Skype conversations will be captured in your mailbox, automatically. Even better, it provides you the option to upload your existing local Skype chat history direct to your inbox!

It doesn't even matter if you use Skype on different computers -- G-Recorder Pro merges all of your conversations into your Gmail account, in chronological order! Best of all, you can use the same license on up to 10 different computers!

Stephane M The license is for one Skype account only, is that right?

Can we transfer the license to another Skype account?

Thanks!

Andriy Tylychko Yep, it's bound to your Skype Account on registering. Since G-Recorder is extremely useful for people who use Skype on different computers, we didn't want to force them to buy a separate license for each machine. So we made a single G-Recorder license applicable on up to 10 different computers. But to prevent using the same license by 10 different users we had to bind it to a single Skype Account. There's no way to automatically rebind G-Recorder license to another Skype Account. And actually such need is rare, only if a license was bound to wrong Skype Account by mistake. Write us (please specify your order number) and we'll rebind it to another Skype Account manually for you. Make sure you're signed in under the right Skype Account when you enter G-Recorder license number.

Stefan Hauber I have to admit, I'm not yet a skype-user, but perhaps in the near future I'll be. And I also do not have a gmail-account. But I would like to have this possibility you describe.

So some questions arise:

1) Does this program automatically record outgoing AND incoming calls?
2) Do I need gmail. I read, you also support other EMail-accounts. I have a homepage and the provider offers email-support too, so I do not need an external e-mail provider like gmail or aol. How can I find out, if my homepage-email is supported. (The servertype is POP)
3) I've heard Skype is about to allow video-chats too. Will your product allow recording these too (in a near future) and if yes, will there be a free update to this feature?

Thanks you...

Andriy Tylychko 1) yep, and just to list all types: PC to PC calls (both incoming and outgoing), Skype Out, Skype In, conference calls and audio tracks of video calls 2) G-Recorder Pro works with any email that supports IMAP access, Gmail, Google Apps, Yahoo!, AOL, MS Exchange, Zimbra just to list some of them. Please ask your provider whether their email service support IMAP 3) At the moment G-Recorder doesn't support recording video-calls, but this feature is in development. I don't know yet how it will be released.

A. Goyal The product is good so I bought it today but the support and management is a different story! On Feb 10, 2010, G-Recorder was featured on BDJ for 50% off AND also offered for free on Giveawayoftheday site on the same day! BDJ pulled the deal out as many opted for GAOTD freebie. I contacted G-Recorder begging them to honor the BDJ deal on a one-off basis as I had already downloaded free licensed copy from GAOTD and wanted paid license which will work when I change my computers. After 2 months of barking my emails to g-recorder@im-history.com  and escalations to Ramaz and then Inna in Sr Management, nobody cared!! They offered me a measly 30% discount. The company spent more in support costs than the $8 they were arguing for (diff between 30 and 50%) and they never really cared for my sale.  Anyways, folks BDJ deal is good today. Buy 2 licenses for $31.99 after 50% off that you can pass to your family or friend.

Stephane M Can anybody tell me how G-Recorder compares to Pamela for Skype or IMCapture for Skype?
Thanks!

Andriy Tylychko Hallo Ash, Thank you for purchasing! You are right regarding GAOTD and BDJ, it was terrible ordeal for us. GAOTD registration mechanism worked properly only for part of users, while another part couldn't cope with it. We were receiving tons of emails at that time and our support was completely overloaded. That's the only reason I see why your request was not handled. Sorry for any inconvenience it may caused you.  Should you have any question please use the same support e-mail, we will be glad to help you. Thanks!

Andriy Tylychko Stephane, The main difference is that G-Recorder stores recordings not only locally but on e-mail storage.  It allows you for example having in Gmail (or Yahoo/AOL) all your Skype chats and calls made even from different computers, e.g. Home and Work, Laptop, etc. So you have online access to your conversations and great automatic backup. And you will need to buy only 1 license to use G-Recorder on up to 10 computers!

Stephane M Thank you Andriy.

Yes it seems to be the main difference in terms of features.

I think I will have to test the different products and see which product fits better my needs because the license policy of Pamela seems to be quite interesting, it is per user, not tied to skype account and has free upgrades for life.

Andriy Tylychko Yep, exactly, this means you can use it as long as you wish. It's not a service that requires some operational expenses like servers, traffic etc., so we don't require to pay for it on regular basis. But if you're interested if all future upgrades will be for free, I'll be extremely honest with you - we don't know. Up to now (2 last years) all upgrades, even major ones, were free. But I wouldn't like to give you any promise trying to persuade you to buy G-Recorder. Compare, think and make right choice.

Stephane M Ok thanks Andriy, I understand and I appreciate your honesty.

I tried G-Recorder and I must admit I like it.
It is easy to set up, very easy to use (almost nothing to do), you can have it and forget about it, everything is automatic.
Good job!

Andriy Tylychko Hi!

Thanks for your interest in G-Recorder.

Due to Skype technical specific, G-Recorder records only that computer where it is installed (and all other recorders too).
But if you use the same Skype ID on different computers you will need only 1 license.
