What are people saying about GIFExplainer Lifetime License

Dmitri Popov I am the author of GIFExplainer. The idea of this app came to me when I was playing educational card game with my kids. In this game a card contains a small piece of knowledge. I thought to myself that GIF files are a perfect medium to create decks of slides for quick education. You know, attention lifespan of your audience is not that big nowdays. So if a subject is relatively compact, could be splitted into small parts (slides) then GIFs are perfect for it - they are instantly playable and easily shareable. And best of all - they are looped and repetition is the key to memorizing. And the approach has various uses in other ares too,

Dmitri Popov Hello, Everybody! Author is here. The BDJ community is a bit quiet today, so plese don't by shy and share your thoughts on the product, even if it is a critism (but please be constructive :)

Alexander Deliyannis Hi Dmitri, this looks interesting; indeed I can think of several applications. Is there an open gallery, library or similar resource where we can see samples produced with the programme? The GIF on the homepage itself is a good example. Others?

Dmitri Popov Alexander Deliyannis, "Teaching" section has a sample with random school program facts combined into a GIF, also there's a couple of examples at reddit.com/r/gifexplainer/ At this moment I do research on topics to identify microlearning content samples that will be useful on their own, not just as samples of the program output.

Alexander Deliyannis Thanks Dmitri, will check it out, the programme looks really useful. A more general question: there are three other programmes mentioned in the GIFExplainer site --Helpinator, WeirdWrench and MiniKanban-- but only the first one's site seems to work. Is this coincidental?

Dmitri Popov Alexander Deliyannis, I am moving sites to the new server and so far did it only for the main products :) Thank you for the report anyway, I appreciate your help!

Dunking Is the resultant gif pauseable? For example, suppose I create a help gif that details how to log into my VPN. There will be a view of some configuration screen with all the settings necessary and the end user can copy those. But how long to show that screen? If it's too short then the user won't have time to do anything, but if it's too long he will get annoyed that he can't move on. Clearly, if he can pause the playing at that point that would be the best option.

The only alternative I can see, if it can't be paused, is to let the thing run to the end and go round again, but if it's a quite lengthy instructional thing it could be very tedious indeed to try and scrape details as they flash past once every 3 minutes...

Dmitri Popov Dunking, definitely not every content fits into "microlearning" paradigm. If there are multiple steps with a lot of options to set up GIF won't work well. I expected this problem to occur so I added "Generate PDF" option for lengthy walk-throughs.
