Gde Swart Dear BDJ,

Stop wasting our time with this tradepub garbage. They are nothing but e-mail harvesters and you know that! I'm sure they claim they provide a valuable service delivering targeted materials, but that's delusional; SPAM is SPAM.
I would like one long time member (not newly created astroturfer) to tell me about anything tradepub has offered that was more informative and higher quality than what they were able to find with a simple google search.
I made the mistake once. I'm still trying to stop the unwanted e-mails (unsubscribe my a**) and I roll my eyes each time I see a new one offered here.

Fun fact: Each time I get junk from them, I think of BDJ and not in a positive way (unlike when I start a program that I got a great deal on). Are you making so much with their affiliate program that you can afford that?
Go ahead moderators and delete my comment, but I contend it is constructive and I'll bet I'm not alone on this one .

Edward Smith Gde, I agree with you 100%. Regarding deleted comments, BDJ has done that to me twice now. Too bad for them, because as someone who has bought well over 150 programs from them, I have pretty much stopped buying from them, first because they keep deleting my comments (as they will do with this one), and second because they are advertising garbage (in some cases like this). One of which I purchased and the company arbitrarily dropped a lifetime subscription. Yet, BDJ still advertises for them, knowing that they did this -because it is discussed in their forum, and they commented on it. The only time I buy now is when it's a program that I would've bought otherwise. I actually at one time use to make some purchases because I thought I might use the program sometime, and I was interested in small software developers being successful and BDJ being successful. Not anymore. Loyalty and respect has to go both ways.

Frank User Most of these books and advices are worthless "offers" of the obvious. I'm not sure what goes on at BDJ over the weekend because the Monday emails / offers aren't worth even looking at. I don't expect Microsoft Office for free, but I do like little software packages that do clever things for my PC or smartphone, written by some guy who understands the lower levels of code beneath the big operating systems or has hammered out a way of greatly simplifying a task we all struggle with in a proper application or program. Closed captions for video - great. Mass resizing photos - great. Annotating files. Finding (near) duplicates - yes. Replicating functions available in the OS - not so much. I don't mind if the apps go stale or die after a year. But by all means, kill off all the lame articles, books, and hints - total waste of oxygen. Turn em into a free blog if you wish.
