Javier Gil How does it handle flash animations?
How about animated gifs?
So, the 50% discount is only for the basic version, isn't it? Not the pro version (nor the server version).
The basic version doesn't export to epub or webhelp formats, does it? And no user defined skins nor keyword index either...
I don't know, we buy programs here at bitsdujour for very affordable prices but, frankly, such a severely crippled version for 199$ is a major investment, and we're not even getting the real thing...

Alexander Halser Hi Javier,
Flash, YouTube videos, animated GIFs no problem. The ePUB export is included in the Professional Edition only, which is on sale here on BitsDuJour one day after the Basic version, with an even better discount of 57%. You might want to consider the second deal as an alternative!

Nelson Carvalho Sorry my English.
I believe that I have not expressed myself correctly.
I have H & M standard version 5.6 build 1350. I would like to know if in this offer I'll can buy the upgrade with discount also.
The new basic version represents the old standard version?
There is no loss resources in this update?
Thanks.

Alexander Halser As we get closer to this deal, I'd like to emphasize that both versions of Help & Manual, Basic and Professional, are offered here at BitsDuJour. The Basic version on Tuesday, the Professional Edition on Wednesday.

While the Pro edition costs more in total, that deal includes the Help & Manual Premium Pack and the discount for the package is even higher than for the Basic version (57% vs. 50%). It's your choice to go for the fully loaded package or for Basic, both deals are terrific!

For feature comparison, please have a look at this comparison table:
http://www.helpandmanual....atrix.html

To sum it up...

Professional + 45 Premium Pack skins includes everything you can wish for. The Basic version on sale here includes most of that feature set and is designed for single authors. It's perfect for writing CHM help files, publishing Webhelp and supplying your customers with additional PDF manuals.

JMJ Squared If you intend to publish in more than one language, then spend the extra money and go Pro. It handles uncompressed XML which makes localization/translation much, m-u-c-h easier. Pro also provides a "repository" that you can access across different projects.
If you use Visual Studio or want to output to ePUB, it's *mandatory*.

Worth the extra money , IMO.

My 2-cents worth :-)

Bxxxx Oxxxx I have approx 500 programs on my PC
If I could vote for the very best of these programs, it would be Help&Manual. It creates help and books in different formats
and is also great to make an entire website with powerful search
automatically integrated.

Many programs have unfriendly and annoying activations, and you are not sure if you have a program at all
after next PC change.

Also in this aspect, help&manual is a real friend,

But Wait and Go for pro .. it is worth every cent . QUALITY
in every detail!

Tony Jacobson I bought the Pro version last time it was offered here, and I have been using it extensively for the last few months. I would say that I have spent the equivalent of two months full-time working with it. In that time, I had to contact support once about some custom formatting. They responded promptly with very precise instructions for editing the CSS.

I have not encountered a single bug or crash in that time. The only thing I wish it did better was the "back" navigation for the webhelp premium skin (you have to click Back twice from a permalink to go back to the original page). Oh, and the PDF output is awful when using the screen as a reference device (default). I'm using Acrobat's driver, which is much better, but not quite as good as outputting from Acrobat's driver (the w's don't look quite right). It's definitely top quality software, and highly recommended if you need to create help files and documentation.
