What are people saying about Help & Manual 6 Professional + Premium Pack

Bradley MacDonald OK - I have been using this for years. It is the best help and manual designer I have ever come across. They have done an excellent job with this product.
My customers love when I deliver not only an application help file - but a professional looking manual as well - all from one source.
Very nice program.

Ron K I have also used this for years, and I agree with Bradley MacDonald above: this documentation tool is outstanding. I used old-skool RoboHelp and many packages that were less expensive, and H&M beat them all. The price is good, and especially in the case of RoboHelp, H&M was the better tool at a fraction of the price.

Some of my favorite features:
* Multiple target document types from a single source
* Style management is logical and hierarchical style families are easy if you like that kind of thing
* The Premium Pack gives you a lot of functionality in Web output with little additional effort
* The XML project files give me a sense of security in that if EC were to shut down tomorrow, I'd have my doc sources in a format that would make it straight-forward to extract my text, keywords, etc. into whatever tool I switched to
* Customizable keyboard shortcuts for program features and style selection

Jens P. I have been using Help & Manual 5 at work for the past 6 months to write technical documentation (programming / usage instructions for industrial control systems); I am simply amazed how efficient and easy to use this application is.
Before proposing this application to my manager, I actually tried three applications and found that this one is by far the most efficient to get quick and good results; especially since it imported my existing, hand coded HTML / CHM documents without a hitch.

Based on this promo and the past 6 months of experience, I actually purchased another copy for my own personal use, since I would like to document some personal little tools I programmed.

So far, only a few minor things I would like to see improved:
- Direct import of DOC files instead of RTF (Not sure if this is possible, due to the proprietary nature of DOC files, maybe the formats of OpenOffice/LibreOffice might be a good choice?)
- Direct SVG support including anti-aliasing rendering when exporting to Web; EMF files look very ugly after they are converted to PNG using Help & Manual; right now I use EMF files for print layout only. Frankly, this would be my most-welcomed feature.
- Zoom function in Manual Designer
- A very simply Web skin which does not rely on Java script; basically a static web page; possibly with CSS support. That would ensure that the output will work on ANY device; I understand that search functionality would be lost that way (although CHM can still use the internal CHM search functionality, which does not require scripting).

Nelson Carvalho I have been using H&M for years. It is the best help and manual designer in market. H&M has all necessary features and it is easy to use.

Stew Cam H&M version 5.x is now over 3 years old, so perhaps version 6.0 is not far away. Does this offer include any guarantee about free upgrades for a certain period?

Alexander Halser Hello Stew,
We offer free minor updates and 6 months of free updates in general. This will include the next major update to version 6. So, with your purchase today, you will get a free version 6 upgrade as well, when it's out.

Glen Coulthard I am a current H&M user and see this BDJ deal as an opportunity to pick up a second license -- but only if I would benefit from a free v6 upgrade. But I'd hate to spend my money waiting until post-Christmas for an upgrade that never comes -- ahh, risky decisions. Also, may I assume that the "free upgrade" policy applies to both H&M and the Premium Pack?
-- Great product! Highly recommended to all.
