What are people saying about HTMLPad 2022

B Barnabe Since on-line activation is required for this program, is there a way to deactivate a particular installation so that the program could be moved to a new computer (for instance)?

With one license, it is possible to install on a total of 2 computers?

R R Thanks for the heads-up about on-line activation. I too would like to know if it is permitted to install it on two computers. I couldn't find any information about registration on the web site (http://www.blumentals.net).

B Barnabe Besides my original questions that I hope will be answered before the end of the sale, I'd also like to confirm which license one is buying here:

1) For general use by professional developers, companies and government organizations.

OR

2) For personal non-commercial use by students and other individuals.

Based on the suggested list price (before the BDJ discount), it should be 1) - For general use by professional developers... Is that in fact the case?

Referring back to one of my first questions about being able to move the program, if necessary, to a different computer, what would one have to do on the original computer should a re-install of the OS be necessary? Would this involve having to contact your sales department to be allowed to reinstall the program after a major computer problem (HD crash, etc)?

Hope to get some answers...

Gatis Avots Hi!

=>With one license, it is possible to install on a total of 2 computers?
Yes, you are allowed to Install and use the software (Pro version) 1) at work, 2) on a laptop and 3) at home.

=>is there a way to deactivate a particular installation so that the program could be moved to a new computer.
There is a number of allowed activations. When this limit is reached, we will solve each case individually and consider what to do.

=>I'd also like to confirm which license one is buying here:
Yes, this is the HTMLPad Pro license - which may be used for commercial purposes.

=>If I purchase this here today, what would be the cost to upgrade to the WeBuilder 2010 product, and how would I purchase the upgrade?
The upgrade to WeBuilder 2010 costs:
WeBuilder 2010 Personal License - $35.85
WeBuilder 2010 Standard License - $39.85

To upgrade, please refer to this site:
http://www.blumentals.net...pgrade.php

Kind regards,

Steven Avery Hi Folks,

Maybe a silly question, but can your editor (not sure about others, either, new to HTML coding) take the RTF from an email or web forum directly, and essentially receive the "paste" and give it the equivalent HTML code. Some internet forums do this on a toggle mode.

Shalom,
Steven

Mike B Will this 60% discount also apply to other products in the family (specifically WeBuilder)? Or is it HTMLPad only?

Karlis Blumentals I'm afraid, I do not know. There are no particular plans for this, it is more a random thing.

Daniel Walker I read the 'features' - kinda sparse in the details.

Does this software offer collapsible tables? Does it permit inserting symbols/extended characters in ASCII? and UTF? Is the color picker some tiny square, or a LARGE one? Does the color picker show both RBG-and-HEX (for matching graphics for instance). LOTS of questions here.
Apr 8 2011 at 6:47pm Copy Link

Karlis Blumentals It is a code editor for web developers, I am not sure what you mean by collapsible tables. This is not a WYSIWYG tool. UTF-8 and UTF-16 is dully supported. To see how color picker works, you should try the free trial version, I believe we have one of the best color pickers available today integrated in our product.

Glen Coulthard I use WeBuilder 2011 by Blumentals and love it. I'm sure HTMLPad is of the same high quality. If you need an HTML code editor, I recommend this company's products.

VLM Glen, I appreciate your recommendation. But ... I don't understand what HTMLPad has the WeBuilder does not. Would you be willing to comment??
Sep 16 2011 at 11:26am Copy Link

Mike B @Presiding:

WeBuilder is a superset of HTMLPad. If you have WeBuilder, there's no need to get HTMLPad.

I think Glen's recommendation is targeted to those who don't have an HTML code editor already (or are unsatisfied with whatever they do have).

Glen Coulthard Yes, Mike B is correct. HTMLPad is not as feature-rich as WeBuilder, but built from the same platform. You wouldn't purchase both. -- Glen

VLM Thanks to you both! I'll wait for WeBuilder to come this way.

How is their support, in your experience? I ask, because the vendor has not yet joined in today's conversation. Of course, time remains! :)

Mike B @Presiding:

It's been a while since I participated in their support forum (I haven't been doing much on the web side of things lately), but the developers were quite active and responsive back when I did.

I'd be surprised it it were any different today. You should take a quick look just to be sure for yourself,

Check Gold I wish vendors would acknowledge that many of us have a desktop and a laptop.

I hate it when their licensing policy doesn't allow you to install your licence on both, when you are the only user!

Karlis Blumentals You can install on desktop and laptop, this is also mentioned in the EULA.

Jean-Francois Puglia I'm not sure if I should buy this one because I want webuilder.
Should I wait?
Will you offer webuilder discouted real soon?

Because in school we will do asp after the spring break.

Michael Friedlander Thanks Jean-Francois, just looked at the features and, while HTMLPad looks good, WeBuilder would be better for me. The built-in web server in WeBuilder will let me test a PHP site on my laptop without having to load WAMP or XAMP.

They offered WeBuilder before, maybe they'll do it again.

Jo Ann Rice Looks like a great program rivaling a few others I've used over the years for web building. Am curious though why it says 50% off of $49.95 when their website has the program priced at $35.95? Am wondering should the % be different or the discount price be different on this? Am interested in this one, but want the right price :)
Apr 13 2013 at 10:10am Copy Link

Constantin Florea @Jo Ann Rice: The version we're featuring at $49.95 is for general use by professional developers, companies and government organizations. Install and use the software 1) at work, 2) on a laptop and 3) at home.

The $35.95 version is for personal, non-commercial use by students and home users. Install and use 1) at home and 2) on a laptop.

I am sorry - It is so clear now, that you have pointed that the numbers in the link are random. ( the only numbers in the download link are the htmlpadXX version number) I missed that one completely.
Maybe next time round I might even get a 15.
By the way did you read *carefully* what you wrote about download links. tut tut

1
Jo Ann Rice Well since no one else is doing it I will clarify this for everyone so there's no mistaking exactly what version is going on. The download definitely does say HTMLPad12, but that is:

The version or build number of the 2014 program. The Installer (yes I downloaded it right from the link that Paul posted in his previous post above) is installing HTMLPad 2014 v.12 and this is clearly stated on the very first window that pops up asking you if you want to install it.

Guys, just install it, it's the right version, that's always the best way to know what version you are getting, install it and check the About information. In this case all you have to do is double click the installation file and you will know right then and there you are getting exactly what they say they are providing and it's all good. :)

Charles Hall I would be using this primarily for HTML. One important feature I'm looking for is automatic code indenting. My current editor does not do a good job on this. I have lots of nested code for tables, lists, etc. I need to be able to have consistent and accurate indenting so I can easily visualize the page structure.

In addition, sometimes I have to work with other people's code. The files typically arrive in a mess, i.e. either erratic indenting or none at all. I want a feature that will look at the current state of the code and then properly organize the outline/indent structure in one pass.

Can HTML Pad 2020 do these things?
