JamesCGW @Hushed App Jon - My mobile phone was stolen and I am not in a position to replace it right away, so besides my question seeming dumb, here it is.

I noticed the above information displays it as v3.5 Mac & PC, can I thus use it with Skype? I do not have a Skype number but have minutes that can be used making calls from any Skype enabled device (a pc laptop used). I do plan on getting a Skype number and would prefer to keep it underwraps as I would a mobile number when used.

My second dumb question is this. My wife will not be home until tomorrow (traveling and she is out of contact for the next 12 hours). She took my credit cards by mistake (her story and she's sticking to it) so I cannot purchase it until she returns. Will this be extended again?

CL I have a license (one number) in my phone now. Bought the license a while back (same deal as this). It works great. My question is, can I buy a 2nd, and 3rd (or more), license(s) from this upcoming deal for my phone. (i.e. Am I allowed to buy additional lifetime licenses here and have 2 or more "Hushed" numbers on the same phone to choose from). Also, the numbers in this deal is only US and Canadian numbers? Re; your question - per unique deal that we launch, you can make claim the offer a max of 3 times on one Hushed account.

This means that you can attain the package 3 times and allocate each package to a unique number from the US or CANADA.

Re; foreign country #'s, at the moment we don't have any offerings because we are trying to bring down the costs. When that happens, we can definitely offer foreign country #'s in these offerings.

CL Let me see if I understand this correctly, I can install Hushed App in an older Android tablet (with Wifi) and use that as a wifi phone. Can I then, take that tablet (with Hushed App installed) to a foreign country (e.g. Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore....) and use that as a wifi phone to call anyone in US and Canada? Thanks.

2. The reason you are seeing this promotion on Bits Du Jour is so we can share a promotion specifically pertaining to US & Canada #'s. If a reader spots the value in using it outside of the promotion, then that is a good thing.

This package is applies strictly to US/CANADIAN phone numbers, we are not offering this deal for other countries at the moment... Maybe in the near future we will be able to which is the goal. The features still apply to the US/CANADIAN number you may buy.

geo User Is it possible to get some clarification on the following questions, before making a purchase.
According to the purchase page, after selecting 'GET THIS DEAL'

1. 'The plan includes 1100 SMS or 500 min every year for life..'
Should this be 1100SMS ---AND----- 500 mins ??
Any unused minutes carry over to next year?
Are 1100sms and 500mins added to the account every year for the life of the account?

2.'You can add more minutes or SMS credits to your account at any time by paying within the application.'

What would the pricing be for additional mins or SMS??

Additional questions:
You can set up voicemail from what I gather, can this voicemail be accessed from outside the app ?(from a regular phone? and if yes, would my account be charged minutes for doing so?
In addition if an incoming call is not answered and goes to voice mail does that affect my minutes in my account?

Sorry, but could not find any such info on the Hushed web site.

1 - Unused minutes do not carry over to the next year, your subscription resets for FREE and you receive 500 min / 1100 sms on day 366 of having our service.

2 - The best thing you can do is download our app - for free and look at pricing for the countries you're needing a number for. It varies for every country or look at our pricing section on our site https://hushed.com/pricing/

3 - Your voicemail can be set up, BUT ONLY accessed in the app. Your hushed account usage will never have anything to do with your primary phone number and phone plan from your carrier, your usage from Hushed will be through the credits you have on your Hushed account - and run on a DATA/WIFI connection.

Re - being charged minutes for voice mails, NO - you will not be charged if someone leaves a voicemail on your Hushed account.

I still don't see any answers to my questions. Others are also interested in the responses. John, you suggest that I wade throught 65 older comments, but I only see the current... Oh, just checked the link to display older comments... Will scan those but don't have time to read everything.

It would be nice to actually have an official response to my questions by Hush, the service provider. Seems this deal is expired now. I certainly would have purchased at the BitsDuJour deal price, but not for $300.

Maybe BitsDuJour can talk with Hush to encourage their response here and offer the service again at the deal price once we have sufficient information to make a purchase decision?

-- It is fully compatible with regular SMS. Our SMS manager is equivalent to that of what is on iOs and Android.

-- I can verify this because I use my Hushed Number for sign ups like Gmail and GoDaddy. Hushed numbers are recognized by many platforms that allow for VOIP numbers to be used.

--If you DO NOT USE the Hushed number by sending a text, or making a call anytime within 6 months, the number will expire. We want you to use the service at least one time by sending an sms or making a call every 6 months in order to keep the number from expiring.

-- It is always the same, whether you are in Canada or US. There is no Long Distance charges because this is VOIP. You don't have to worry about any long distance network. The rate of usage is the same if you are calling LOCAL OR OUT OF STATE. With this package, your number won't be allowed to call France for example. It will be limited to North America ONLY.

It just means that once you purchase the lifetime plan, you need to choose a number and apply a lifetime plan to that number within 90 days. You have 90 days to choose a number and start the lifetime plan. Does that make sense?

Some users have been able to (hit or miss) but services have filters to block virtual/voip numbers from being used for verification. The use case for Craigslist is that Hushed provides an extra layer of security for Craigslist users. Therefore, if you're meeting a stranger and you're concerned about giving them your main number, use your Hushed number.

I am from India and I purchased and now I cant really use this unless I have contacts in US. Literally rendered useless for me. I can't send international call or texts outside numbers. It would have been great if there were Indian numbers available. Can I get a refund?
