Simon Crowfoot This promotion is for Pro only. However, you are getting Pro for significantly less than the Standard versions list price.

PG BNax Iceni: Explicitly including your licensing policy here is **very** much appreciated, as is your " by user " model. That alone places you head and shoulders above many of the vendors here. Googling the app yielded only positive comments in assorted forums. Accordingly, I've downloaded so I can trial for the week prior to this offer. I must tell you: the care/respect you've taken/shown in presenting this offer makes me **want** to reach for my wallet. :-) (No relation to the dev; just highly impressed with what I've seen thus far.)

Thank you  Iceni

disenchanted Some time back someone had provided me with a pdf that was created from multiple pages of scanned hard copy documents. It was rather horrid pdf file. So much so that I never fully read the whole document. I was testing out your product's OCR feature; (hoping to clean up the somewhat sloppy scanning job that the original PDF creator had created). I have been looking for a pdf product with a good OCR ability for a long time. I downloaded and used your demo . I noticed that the page I tested resulted in an image that was not the same orientation as the original image? Instead it was a "mirror image" [everything was backward and reversed]. Other that the reversed-orientation, the resulting BMP file appeared to be accurately OCR'd. Questions: 1. Is this normal? 2. How do I reverse the image? 3. Can more than one document page be OCR'd at a time? (it seemed to be a one-page-at-a-time feature; unless I missed something in how to do an OCR) Thanks.
Aug 21 2010 at 1:41pm Copy Link
Simon Crowfoot Infix does not actually contain an OCR process. It cannot convert a scanned PDF into a PDF that contains real editable text. It does, however, have a mode which allows the text that is generated by the result of OCR to be corrected and cleaned up.

I am assuming that this is what you are refering to. It is not  normal for the PDF to be displayed as a "mirror image". We would be very interested in receiving the PDF to ascertain what is causing the problem. If possible could you please send us the PDF to

You can correct more than one OCR page at a time. Once you have completed a page step to the next page using navigation buttons on the bottom toolbar.

Thanks, Simon.

Simon Crowfoot This promotion is just for the Pro version.

B Josephs This looks good- just 2 clarifications:
1) Does this software actually change the embedded text in the PDF (not just paste a text box over it)?

2) Does the software recognize not-latin characters? Unicode (right-to-left?)
Feb 9 2011 at 3:42am Copy Link
O I I tested Infix Pro v4.27. It seems that any typewriter objects added by PDF-XChange Viewer, don't appear in Infix Pro. Just the original PDF appears. In Adobe 9 all PDF-XChange Viewer typewriter objects appear as unmovable text boxes. Is this a problem in Infix or I can show all objects by some function?

@B Josephs
In the Infix Pro demo I was able to edit original PDF text, so, yes, it's possible to change the embedded text. You can also add, resize, move or delete any objects in the PDF. You can write in the original PDF language (I tested English and Cyrillic), but you can't use the same font, since some characters are missing in that font to save space. You will be asked to use an alternative font for the missing chars. Copy and paste of Unicode text works as well.

disenchanted I notice that licensing allows transfer of license to another owned computer.

Does this licensing allow the software to be installed on both
a desktop and a laptop; as long as they are owned by the same indivifual, and if they are NOT used concurrently?

Feb 9 2011 at 4:10pm Copy Link
Simon Crowfoot The software does allow the embedded text within the PDF to be edited.

I'm not aware of any problems with PDFs produced with PDF-XChange Viewer. We will investigate.

The license does allow installation on a desktop and laptop as long as the software is not used concurrently.

Thanks, Simon.

Edgar Werner Don't you accept PayPal?

Your RegNow system doesn't accept my credit card although I can use it for other internet purchases successfully. I already had a lot of correspondence with Regnow. The result was negative and the form how they reacted wasn't just friendly.

The other ways you offer for paying are not acceptable because I don't dispose of the necessary facilities and/or I don't like to pay more.

Feb 9 2011 at 10:59pm Copy Link
Simon Crowfoot Regnow do not accept paypal. We are just the software vendor. Credit card authorisation is handled through Regnow. Please contact regnow to determine why they don't accept your credit card.

DrTeeth @ Simon

With all due respect, you could threaten to take your business elsewhere if Regnow does not treat your prospective cusomers with respect. I have had software vendors interceed on my behalf before with great success. YOU are their customer not Edgar IMHO.
Feb 10 2011 at 1:08am Copy Link
Simon Crowfoot If Edgar contacts us directly with details of his attempted purchase then I would be happy to contact Regnow regarding the problem. Please use

B Josephs @SImon Crofoot - in reference to comment on Aug. 23
I understood from there that if I scan a document to PDF, I will not be able to edit it directly with Infix. I must first use OCR software and then "clean it up" with Infix.
Is this correct?
Feb 10 2011 at 2:53am Copy Link
Simon Crowfoot In order to edit the the scanned text you will need to use OCR software first. You can add new text and objects to the scan without first running through OCR.

James Elson This is the best PDF Editor I have found (short of far, far too expensive Adobe stuff). It rocks and I have tried a lot of PDF editors.

FYI, sign me as a satisfied customer for over 6 months.

Edgar Werner Simon Crowfoot wrote (see above) RegNow wouldn't accept paying by PayPal ("Regnow do not accept paypal").

This is surprising. I checked several software vendors and voilá: Of course Regnow allowed/accepted PayPal in some cases and in other cases it didn't.

Probably, Simon wanted to tell us that RegNow doesn't support selling his software with payments via PayPal? How that? Does it make a difference for the software provider when PayPal is excluded?
Feb 10 2011 at 10:29am Copy Link
ehab I think paypal deducts a % from sale, also a surcharge of maybe 2_ to final cost to you " using paypal services from other payment options".

other can prove me wrong if they have other info.

BTW, i feel comfortable having Infix PDF editor to manage files.

MB Is it possible to use the license for the portable version and is this version compatible with windows 8?
Mar 9 2013 at 12:38am Copy Link
Simon Crowfoot yes you can use this license for the portable version.

Infix is Windows 8 compatible but will not run on Windows 8 RT.
Iceni Technology Ltd. - Mar 11 2013 at 2:02am Copy Link
David McCartney I will concur...This is the best PDF editor out there.

I own the full Adobe suite, CutePDF, and Nitro, but the beauty of Infix Pro is that you can open and edit any PDF even if you don't have the fonts on your system. Try that with Illustrator and you will hit a brick wall.

As a commercial printer, I use the CMYK adjustments for more precise color matching. (Hoping for contrast, brightness, and saturation controls to be added :)

Developers are very responsive and DO listen to your suggestions. By far the best investment I have made in PDF software.
