What are people saying about Inlook

Gonzo FYI: the BDJ mentions "Platforms: Microsoft Outlook 2003, 2007"; however in your website it only mentions Outlook 2007 and 2010.
You may want to clarify if Outlook 2003 is supported in this version.

But i also cannot find anywhere to enter a VAT No for a business purchase.

Also I wonder if it works on Outlook Exchange.

Rod James Gerard, Tomas - thank you for your interest in Inlook.
Indeed, due to a limitation of the 3rd party product both BDJ and Inlook are using - Paypal does not appear on the list of options.

HOWEVER - you can make the payment of $29.97 directly to our Paypal account: marketinginlooktm.com

Please also note the following in the comments section
1. You are using the BDJ promotion
2. Your Vat No for the invoice we will send you

Jaap Aap Will support for outlook 2012 become available and will it be a minor (free) or major version upgrade?

Rod James The new Outlook 2013 will be supported. We are already in advanced certification process so it should not be too long before we are ready.
It will be a minor release (free for all existing customers).

If you already have Outlook 2013, please contact us directly at marketinginlooktm.com

Charles Nelson Is this the Pro version ? I see that Inlook is licensed per user. If a person has more that one computer that is used by a single person, does this license cover the two computers ?

Rod James Charles - yes, this is the Pro version.
Inlook is licensed per user (using the same email address).
You can install Inlook on multiple computers

Mark Johnson "Inlook is licensed per user (using the same email address)."

Does this mean I would have to purchase one license for each email address used through the same Outlook client?
I am interested in purchasing two licenses, one for my wife and one for myself. However, she has four email addresses set up in her Outlook 2010 client and I have over a dozen.
Dec 1 2012 at 12:03pm Copy Link
0
Rod James Sorry, will clarify,

Within each Outlook you would install Inlook in, you would need only ONE email that is licensed.

That means, you would need 2 licenses:
One for yourself (any of your 12 emails) & one for your wife (any of her 4 emails)

Inlook is designed to support multiple email accounts and provides features to help you manage different accounts separately or combine (depending on how you configure it).

Hope this clarifies

Rod James You do not need to wait for the license. Please press the "Register" button either from the main toolbar or from the "About" menu.

If you pay via Paypal - it may take us a few minutes to update our records. Otherwise its fully automated.

If you have any trouble / or questions - please email us directly at commentsinlooktm.com

Kelly Major I currently use ClearContext but I would like to try Inlook. Obviously they couldn't run together but I'm very concerned that even a trial where I disabled CC to try IL would "wreak havoc" if I went back to CC.

Any thoughts/experience with this?

I'm also concerned about the per-email address issue. Like Mark I manage a large number of email addresses. I know already I would need the Pro version. I assume any number is OK with that version? Is there any way to get the Pro version at a discount using todays offer?

I'm an independent software developer and Microsoft partner so I run Outlook on quite a few "computers" (physical and VMs) managing (as I said) a large number of email addresses. Any thoughts about this?

Thanks! - KEM

Mark Johnson Rod, thanks for the updates...
Now some more questions...
Does InLook use virtual folders like the product NEO Pro (emailorganizer.com) or does it place emails in actual Outlook folders?
Have you done a comparison of InLook with the competing product NEO Pro?
How often is InLook updated (i.e. how actively is it developed)?

Thanks!
Dec 1 2012 at 1:42pm Copy Link
0
Rod James Hi Kelly,

Thank you for your note.
We actually do have quite a few people who trialed Inlook and ClearContext at the same time with no problem at all.

I don't think you need to disable ClearContext. Just not it for a while you are enjoying the simplicity and ease of use of Inlook. You can always go back (although I hope not :) )
Inlook will organize emails slightly different than CC but you can always roll back.

As for the Pro version: this is what you would be getting within this promotion. You can install Inlook on as many Outlooks as you wish as long as each instance is configured with the email address you used in your license

I hope this clears things up. Looking forward to seeing you as one of our customers!

Best regards

Rod

Mark Johnson Ok, I should have asked in the last posting...
Does InLook work with multiple outlook databases open at the same time, including the Outlook archive .pst files (i.e. email stored on an Exchange server and at the same time multiple local .pst files including local archives)?

Rod James Hi Mark

We have conducted such comparisons.
Inlook uses a different approach then NEO. We do use actual Outlook folders. The reason is that the filing options provide quite a lot more flexibility in terms of how to organize the emails. This flexibility includes many common folder structures but also allows you to build your own custom rules allowing you to archive per customer, project or other options.
Inlook also provides a simulator so that you can see how things would look like.

Inlook also provides other tools such as advanced analytics, auto prioritization and many more.
May I suggest that you download and try it? would be happy to answer any questions

Best Regards

Rod

Kelly Major @Rod Great information! OK, so if I have multiple Outlook installs and they all have at least the one email I registered with Inlook regardless of how many other email addresses they have I would be good as far as licensing?

I only have a couple of Outlooks with all of my *many* email accounts configured, but they all have at least one that I consider my "primary" email address which is the one I would register with Inlook.

I'm going to grab the demo now.

Thanks! - KEM

Mark Johnson Hi again, Rod.
Sorry for all the questions - I already have NEO pro installed on all machines so am reluctant to install InLook since it would most likely conflict -- so I want to be pretty sure I'd want to move from NEO to Inlook before installing.

There's still one outstanding question from earlier today --

How often is InLook updated (i.e. how actively is it developed)?

Thanks!
Dec 1 2012 at 2:37pm Copy Link
0
Rod James No worries Mark. I should have answered earlier.

We provide minor releases approximately every 2 months on average.

This minor releases are not mandatory to install of course but they do include feature enhancements either from our planned roadmap or from customer suggestions. We also include bug fixes when appropriate.

Earlier this year we enhanced Inlook to support multiple email accounts, even more flexible archiving rules, archiving simulator NoteIt (the ability to write yourself a note as a reminder for when someone responds to your email) and many more. Our next minor release due very soon will include support for Outlook 2013.

Best Regards

Mark Johnson Rod - that sounds great. One last question -- is InLook compatible with Lookeen (lookeen.net) ?
If there are conflicts with Lookeen, are there workarounds?
Dec 1 2012 at 3:16pm Copy Link
0
Rod James Hi Mark

We tested Inlook on the same machine with Lookeen earlier this year and found no compatibility issues.

The only real area where the two products can affect each other is while they are indexing emails if this happens at the same time.
Inlook allows you to configure when this indexing happens so you can ensure they do not work at the same time.

Rod James There are a few features targeted at making notes re an email before sending it.
Additionally, all archiving rules and analytics can be configured on the outgoing emails

Rod James Hello Metta

So far I have yet to encounter such a plugin. Since there are many plugins out there, you can download the free trial from our website www.inlooktm.com and give it a try before the Inlook promotion on Wednesday. Please let me know if you encounter any issues (best way is to use the comments area in the plugin which helps us analyze) and looking forward to having you as our customer

Steven Martins One of the shortcomings of IMAP on Outlook 2013 is that there's no way to use outlook's build in labels and flags, like we can if we configure the account as POP.

Does the Inlook "Snooze" Emails feature, that allows to defer for 1 day, 2 days, ... also work on IMAP configured accounts?
Apr 29 2013 at 2:49am Copy Link

Rod James Thanks Steven for the good question.
The defer (snooze) feature will work regardless of IMAP. In fact - so will the Inlook categories(flags)

gail f Hi--2 questions
1) downloaded trial and can't get it to open when Outlook opens. Reinstalled a few times and it says successful. Ideas? Testing on Outlook 2007 and Vista

2) how does the program work with Rules already set up? I see in the screenshots it refers to using the inbox. I already have many rules set up to sort mail into the correct email address folder, so nothing stays in the Inbox.

thanks

Steven Martins What's your refund policy in case I can't get InLook to work with Outlook 2013? I contacted you about my issue seeing InLook with Outlook 2013 and I plan on doing a re-install of Outlook to see if things get sorted out. If I still can't get InLook to open up with Outlook, can I get a refund in a few days after I re-install everything?
