What are people saying about IOTransfer for Windows Giveaway

CFGuy Dear IOTranfer,
Thanks for your generous offering today. Question for you about the program- while I find that many iPhone/iPad backup/transfer programs do NOT transfer apps (along with music, contacts …) it appears from what I (believe) I read on your website that you program does indeed backup/transfer apps. Am I correct about this?
Also, many companies, on the day that they offer "giveaway" licenses here on BitsDuJour, will also offer discounts for full licenses, as well. However, I didn't see any mention of a full license discount on your product description, nor an option to buy a regular license at a discount when I clicked the button to claim my free, 6 month license to the program.
If we were interested in purchasing a full license, would you be willing to offer a discount to BDJ customers today?
Finally, I also noticed that your license is for "1" single computer. Many software developers will also offer a discounted "family"-type license (for more than 1 computer - suck as 3 or 5 computers). Do you offer any such discounted quantity (1+) licenses?
Thanks for your help with these questions, and again, thanks for your generous giveaway here on BDJ today.

John User Sorry, but what am I missing here?

Above it says: "IOTransfer for Windows
Transfer iOS Data Without iTunes or iCloud"

I downloaded and installed the program and the first screen which greets me says:

"It seems you don't have Apple Device Driver installed on your PC. You can download latest iTunes from Apple's official website.

??????????

I am looking for a program that allows me to transfer photos, music, videos etc. from my PC to my iPad and iPhone without having iTunes and its constant updates installed on my PC.

It appears this program is not it. Best regards and thanks for offering though.

Bruce info for John user

This product (and most or all similar) do need to have iTunes installed (at least some time in the past), as the iTunes installation process is what installs the necessary drivers and services to link the Windows PC to the Apple iPhone device. There is also at least one background service: "AppleMobileDeviceService.exe" that must be running.
Otherwise, your PC Hardware will not know about nor be able to connect to an Apple iPhone.

You can install iTunes once to get the drivers & services installed to the PC, then just never use iTunes.

Their website FAQ: "Do I have to install iTunes to use IOTransfer features? Yes, IOTransfer requires iTunes installed first on your Windows PC or Mac to use its features."
'Features' in this situation being the device drivers and services.

Just some background info for clarity.

John User A slick program that works fine with my iPad Air 2 and iPhone 5s.

FWIW like most of these transfer programs you will need to install iTunes or at least somehow have the Apple Device Driver installed on your PC. Boooooo!

Anyway, thank you for the program.

A User Howdy,

I was new to using an iPhone and I started researching the web for programs that back up and transfer to my Win pc, and a number of them that are free. Criteria, no @##@$ iTunes to load up into my computer.

I have yet to use this offer from BDJ, but from other giveaways and free iOS to Win software, I noticed one thing, they will download the needed Apple support services and drivers if you do not have iTunes installed. The software must state, "you do NOT need iTunes to run this", and there is a good possibility they will download the needed "stuff" from Apple during the install (usually after their program is installed).

Two programs, case in point, WinX MediaTrans, and EaseUS MobiMover, which I use both and they are excellent programs. Both recognize the media data from my pc to iPhone, after you plug in using a usb, or they will say no iPhone connected. Copy Trans is another that works well and has both free and paid and it all connects using their "Manager" main program.

It was WinX that I first loaded up in Shadow Defender and watched what it downloaded and installed, including the Apple support needed. All three give clean installs and uninstalls and no unnecessary extras. Copy Trans, will give you a complete back up of your iOS device not just media. Closed Shadow Defender, and reinstalled the two I mentioned, with no need of cloud or iTunes to back up my Media Files.

Hope that helps.
Regards,

Mike Montes This IS a great program. However, I got this program in September, 2018 and it was version 3.2.0.1118. Today's program is 3.1.0.1084. It seems this is a downgrade PLUS I keep getting notifications to upgrade and, after trying, will lose my free license. Is this a downgrade from previous free version? Really???

Keyboard Cowboy After I purchased two lifetime licenses, I received an email with the registration numbers that says "Upgrades to future versions of the software will be free for minor versions only". That's not what "lifetime subscription means for most reputable software companies. This was not stated in the BitsDuJour description and frankly, I feel it's a "bait and switch".

Mr Dave Thanks Keyboard Cowboy, your concerns about how "lifetime subscriptions" are advertised vs. reality, have saved me a lot of time from dealing with this product and its company. I'll stick with WinX Media Transfer!

Constantin Florea @Keyboard Cowboy, I am sorry about the confusion generated by the license policy in the receipt email. The reason you see the "Upgrades to future versions of the software will be free for minor versions only" in the receipt email even if you purchased the Lifetime license is because our system sends the same license policy in the receipt email for all purchase items in the promotion. This is because we only have one license policy which is filled in to be correct for the first purchase item.

So the Lifetime license you purchase has lifetime upgrades even if the receipt email says otherwise.

Mike Montes Keyboard Cowboy, the version I downloaded back in September was 3.20.118. THIS version is a downgrade to version 3.10.1084. I wonder why?

Mr Dave Constantin Florea, thanks so much for clarifying! I take back my earlier comment, please delete it (and this one) so no one is misled. Thanks!

Keyboard Cowboy Thanks for the clarification Constantin. That makes me feel much better. Can you answer one more question? What is the latest version of the program?

DiggerP @ Keyboard Cowboy

According to the website, https://www.iotransfer.net/faqs.php
the latest version is 3.3 so v3.1.0.1084 is 4 versions behind.

So check what you downloaded when you bought.
You should have received v3.3

Mike Montes I did check. In the "About" Section under help, it states I have 3.20.118. I dunno. Am I the only one who downloaded back in September this version? I'm afraid if I downgrade to version 3.10.1084, I'll lose the features I currently have. Hmmm. The above image clearly shows this new download is 3.10.1084 for PC. Nowhere here does it say version 3.3, except the reply from Peter Ekkerman. So confusing!

DiggerP Hi

Sorry for somewhat belated answer.
@ Mike Montes and Keyboard Cowboy

I stand by the info I gave earlier to check the version at
https://www.iotransfer.net/faqs.php

I posted a partial screenshot here

Can't explain the discrepancy in version numbers

Mr Dave I had this from an earlier giveaway, and found it easy to use and did some things well, or at least better than WinX Media Transfer. For example, it copied ALL my movies from iPhone to PC, not just a few. Well worth checking out. I'm using Win 10/64 and (at that time) iOS 12. Very glad to see this offer today since my old license expired. It installed over the old version with no problems. Have not had a chance to try it out yet. Thanks BDJ and iOTransfer!

Stephen Brown I've also had this before, but until now never needed to use it. I tried to reregister the program but the field where I'm supposed to paste the code I received will not enter either by copy and pasting or by typing. The license code field is inaccessible for some reason.
