Louis H I've been playing around with this for a little and cannot get the "unimportant", or "discard" feature - where you mask those objects you want removed from the photo - to work. (this feature works in Teorex's other app - InPaint - so i know the idea can work.)

The Green Mask feature appears to work fine - protecting objects in the photo from being distorted when the picture is resized. (this is the main reason I am interested in this app.)

It is the Red Mask feature - unless I am misunderstanding the video tutorial - where you set up objects you want removed - or discarded - from the photo - that is not working for me. I am using Win 7 64 bit - and as i stated - the other features are working fine.

At present, you can easily undo the size change, but you also undo whatever areas you have set up for protection or discarding. You then have to start all over from the beginning if you decide you want to change the resizing parameters. (I am open to learning that I am wrong about his and simply missing how it is done.)

Having the ability to undo the resizing parameters, but keeping the areas already set up for protection or discarding would have made the sale for me. (that is assuming the problem I am having getting the "discard" function to work is something on my end.)

However, since I would imagine adding such a feature would result in the app being issued as a "major upgrade," and thus not a free upgrade, I'm going to pass and watch for such a feature to appear in a future version.

It's a nice little app, even with the issues I mention above. And I will definitely keep it in mind for future purchase as it evolves. Right now, however, I get the feel of it being more a public beta test - both in terms of features and testing the market for interest. (Teorex? I am definitely interested!)

(Unfortunately, due to another situation, I am no longer willing to purchase a product based upon the promise of future improvements. I'd rather miss a discount deal and wait until such improvements and additions are actually achieved. Unless, of course, the app has a more liberal upgrade policy.)

P.S. What would REALLY be nice, would be to see this product combined with Teorex's InPaint app into one single app.

Louis H I did that, Maxim. I painted what I wanted protected in green and what I wanted discarded I painted in red. The green painted objects were indeed protected. The red painted objects were not removed.

I'm interested in finding out why you are assuming I did not follow instructions?

Maxim Gapchenko discard masks are ignored when enlarging
discard mask will be removed primarily, but it doest not guarantee that it was removed fully. If red mask greater than size difference some part of this mask remain.

If you want to fully remove some part you need to use another my software Inpaint

Louis H It doesn't matter if the object is small or large. (and I watched your video tutorial again.) Small objects. Mid-sized objects. Large objects. No part of any of them is being removed. And it doesn't matter if I am enlarging the photo or shrinking the photo. I've tried both - as well as various permutations in between.

Again - no problem if all I am doing is protecting an object. That feature works like a charm. I simply cannot get the discard mask feature to work.

As to my other concern, Maxim, (and thank you for being here on a Saturday to answer questions,) is there a way to keep areas highlighted for either protection or discarding from being reset when one clicks to undo the actual resizing? If not, might it be looked at for future versions?

Thanks again for being here to respond, even though it is the weekend.

P.S. I'm going to keep playing around with it on a number of other photos and see if I can pinpoint what my particular problem with the discard mask is.

H. H. Hallo,
trying iResize I have to agree to the comments of Louise H.. I also think a combination of iresize and inmpaint would be useful, so that one can be sure that the red highlighted parts of the pictures are removed.
What I also really miss is an undo - function keeping the higlighted areas. Will this be hanged within the minor version updates or does one have to wait until the next version upgrade?

with kind regards
H.H.

Louis H Thought I might give this another try, but it is still listed as version 1.0. Would pick this one up if the developer ever combines it with InPaint. (See previous comments.)

Ralph Bressler I bought this last time and I SHOULD have "played:" with it more BEFORE paying. When I really needed it, it failed miserably. I tried to enlarge a picture and the results had large blocks of inappropriate color and texture. Apparently it is not very good at interpolating what is missing. I tried it several times with landscapes and got the same results so I uninstalled it. It is CHEAP enough but I could not get it to work properly.

Amit Iresizer might be also in my buy list maybe but i also have a question regarding batch inpaint.

If batchinpaint processes the same way as inpaint does - and in batch mode even - then how come price of both is same - i want to get one between the two - but would like to know if batchinpaint is much low quality than inpaint.

Chris @ Amit

Inpaint is the best program. Batch Inpaint I think will inpaint the same area on multiple pictures.

Amit What I needed was just inpainting the same area only - as thats the only thing possible in batch mode as well.

I just need to know if the quality of the output result or effectiveness is same as in inpaint and batch inpaint.
