Richard User This is the first time I've seen jv16 Power Tools listed on BDJ. I've used the utility for a long time... 20 years? Maybe more. I think the "16" refers to its originally being 16-bit software when that was state-of-the-art.

I don't use it a lot, but it's a tool I'm happy to have.

I have to issue a warning, though. In my experience, this is a tool best used by people who know what they are doing on a PC. jv16 PT is powerful, but it does not always protect a less-skilled user from doing something they shouldn't do, and messing themselves up. I definitely recommend prospective purchasers check out the trial version first, which I think is fully functional for the trial period.

Why do I like this app?
* The Registry Cleaner is (can be) more aggressive than others I've seen on the market. (And know that there are pros and cons to using such a tool.)
* It has a Registry Compactor, which I haven't used in ages but seemed to work well when I did last use it.
* It will root out old software fragments better than other tools I've seen.
* It has a lot of other features, many of which are found in other apps. The above are the ones I use the most.

On the website, they offer a lifetime license for three times the yearly license. I bought Lifetime a long time ago and am happy I did. The subscription model doesn't appeal to a lot of people, myself included, as it puts all the risk on the buyer while, in theory, it increases the likelihood of continued development and support.

The software is unique and it has a long history. If you like utility apps, it's worth a look.

So, I'm confused ...
I bought a jv16 License during the Indiegogo drive.
We were supposed to get a License. I didn't get one, maybe they forgot?
Is it still valid?
Anyway, wasn't that drive supposed for it to become Open Source? What happened afterwards?
Also, is Jouni Vuorio still there or was the company sold?
