the main difference is that the LITE version only supports one account and some of our features (like Snooze, Attachment preview etc) are only available limited.

Nigel Blumenthal Just downloaded the trial, and I must say, it looks excellent. A couple of questions before I turn my life over to you: Is it possible to do the following:

Add more columns to the main display (such as size of email, attachment, etc),

Change the location of the stored email files (I don't want them on my C: drive),

Automatically see other emails from the same person (maybe in the right-hand window where the calendar is on default installation), and

Direct the search facility to, say, sender only, or body, or subject etc?

These are facilities I have with my current email software and which I use, but I really like the look and feel of Mailbird so I'd like to know what I might have to give up if I switch.

disenchanted Hi,

This looks like the type of tool I've been trying to locate for quite some time.
But didn't find until seeing it here on BDJ.

I have email accounts with 3 different providers; Comcast, Gmail and Yahoo.
With 2 of these providers I have multiple accounts [based upon personal vs subject matter related]
In any case it is overwhelming most of the time.

I briefly reviewed your website and maybe some of my below questions were answered there. [If that is the case, please excuse my asking]
1. Does Mailbird let you search and such across all of these different email providers at the same time?
2. Or would it be only across all Comcast accounts at once, all yahoo at once, or all gmail at once?
3. Does my web-based email remain on the websites they are on currently?
4. Or does mailbird download the email to my desktop or laptop computer?
5. or are there options for both leaving email online and downloading?

Brenda Adams Reading the Fine Print, I see that this is the LIFETIME version of Mailbird. That's an even better deal than the sale price offered at your website.
I want to MAKE SURE that if I order at Bits today (for $24.15) I will be receiving the LifeTime version. Is that true?

@Metta: Yes, it is correct that the licence is a lifetime licence and includes future updates.
Yes, depending on whether you are using POP3 or IMAP, mail is being downloaded into Mailbird and/or synced with the server. If you are using Pop3 the mails are saved locally but can only be accessed using Mailbird. @Edward, Exchange mail server support is coming by the end of the quarter.

@dischanted, we do not have advanced search yet. Our users are currently alternatively using the profile picture search and attachment search. We understand though, that this may not be an appropriate alternative for everyone.
As per your questions 3,4 and 5 it depends on whether you are using IMAP or POP3. Please have a look at our post here to get more detailed information on the difference: https://support.getmailbi...P-and-POP3-

@Brenda, yes BDJ is offering 65% on the lifetime version, while we only offer 50% max.

Currently only Postbox offers this possibility. Pocomail used to offer it but is dead.
It is the possibility to modify received mailk exactly as one can modify outgoing mail.
At first this can seems strange Why would someone want to modify incoming mails, right ? But this is exaclty as asking why would someone would need more than 637 kB of memory ina computer.
But in fact there are many reason to be able to edit received mail.
Just one example : imaging looking for a job. You may received job offers in batch. You may be willing to edit the received mail to remove jobs you don't want, mark those you answered to, etc.
An e-mail client with received mail edition abilities may replace several softwares, making it the only software you need in many situations.
What's more, everything in your e-mail client is probably ready ; it just lacks the pipeline to allow the received mail to go through the editor.

Metta Zetty @frnp User @ChrhistinUser -- FWIW, Eudora also offers the option of editing incoming emails, and I use this feature all the time. In fact, it is one of the main reasons I'm still using Eudora even though it is no longer being developed.

Even just editing the subject line can be tremendously helpful for identifying the message contents and adding priority flags, follow-up notes, questions, etc.

Would love to see this feature and an advanced search function eventually added into MailBird.

Thank your for the answer. Then I will stick to Postbox for now and wait for this feature. As @Metta Zetty, I will not reverse to any e-mail client lacking this feature. As a : precision : The Bat allows to edit received mail in a weird way : by putting the mail in the outbox, editing it, then moving it back to the received mail. It as the side-effect to reset the date of the e-mail to the minute it was moved to the outbox, thus completly breaking the whole thik. Too bad. Don't go that way. Postbox do it right.

W User Have tried to install it four (4) times, both with the offered installer and the "offline" installer. All installs have failed. Furthermore, assurances are given here that this is the "lifetime" version, but when I received my receipt after purchase it said "1 Year" license. Please refund my purchase amount immediately.

Brenda Adams Where are emails and attachments stored? Are they stored in folders on my own computer? Can they be searched in Win Explorer (as EverDesk does)?

Christin User @Branda, thanks for reaching out. Attachments are being stored locally and can be found here: C:\Users\[your user name]\AppData\Local\Mailbird\Store\A
You can search them using Win Explorer after enabling hidden items first.

Regarding the security. Since Mailbird is an email client it is mainly up to the security standards of your email provider. In regards to the safety of Mailbird itself, please check our post here for more details: https://www.getmailbird.c...-mailbird/

Robert Reese I use private domains that use one-off email addresses for each site I give an email address. Each of those comes into a unified inbox. However, my "from" address needs to match that email address when emailing that site or responding to an email from that site.

How do I change the outgoing "from" email address on a per-message basis?

Not correct. If you have domain widget.com and my domain is doodad.com, the email address I would give to you would be widget

doodad.com. When you emailed that address, it would come to a unified inbox. However, when I replied or emailed you, I would use widget

doodad.com as the "from" and "reply" address, specified when I composed or replied to an email.

Christin User Hi Robert, I'm sorry but as far as I understand it would still be managed through the Identities option. You just need to add the widget@doodad to your identities and choose that one to reply from.
