MasterCook 15 is the only version that was designed for Windows 10. All previous versions were designed for Windows 8 and older. Some people have issues running MasterCook 14 or older on Windows 10 because of that.

Dunking I had a browse of your website but it's not clear to me what Pro is apart from 'Cloud'. Does syncing demand a Pro subscription, for instance?
As an ex-Living Cookbook user I am very wary indeed of license issues. Can MasterCook be installed and used without you existing?

MasterCook Support The pro version is a combination of the Windows product and a one-year subscription to MasterCook.

Syncing allows the Windows product to sync with a subscription to MasterCook.com. So, you would only use syncing if you have a subscription to MasterCook.com. There is no other purpose for it.

Some people use only the MasterCook Windows product. Some people use only the MasterCook.com online subscription. Some people use both. You get to choose what to use and purchase.

You are absolutely correct that you cannot use your Living Cookbook download installation file on a new computer because it requires you to get an activation code from Living Cookbook. That is no longer possible since Living Cookbook went out of business several years ago. This MasterCook 2020 download does not require a code to install. Keep a copy of your purchased installation file, so you can use it if you get a new computer. The license for MasterCook is per user and not per computer.

MasterCook Support Hi Susan,

MasterCook 2020 is the stand-alone Windows product. It does not even require an internet connection to function.

When you add recipes to MasterCook 2020, those recipes are stored within the .mc2 and .mcx cookbook files on your computer. The export command from the File menu creates a file on your computer. You can export each recipe to its own file or several recipes to one file.

Additionally, you can print selected recipes or an entire cookbook to a PDF file by using the PDF printer that installs with Windows.

A subscription is only required if you wish to use the online tools at MasterCook.com or the mobile apps that work with a MasterCook.com subscription. These are separate and optional from the MasterCook 2020 Windows product on sale here today.
