What are people saying about MasterCook 2020

Mustang Is there a link that shows new features in v15 versus v14?

May 23 2019 at 9:34am Copy Link

MasterCook Support Yes, there is. See here: https://support.mastercoo...terCook-15

MasterCook 15 is the only version that was designed for Windows 10. All previous versions were designed for Windows 8 and older. Some people have issues running MasterCook 14 or older on Windows 10 because of that.

Andrew User Are you offering any discounts for the "Pro version"? I am looking to move off of Cook'n, but I need the capability for what your Pro version offers.

MasterCook Support This 24-hour sale is for the MasterCook 15 Windows product only. It's regularly $70 at MasterCook.com. The MasterCook Windows product has been a favorite recipe management software program since the early 1990's. The Pro version is a combination of MasterCook 15 and a one-year subscription to MasterCook.com. You can can purchase a MasterCook.com subscription separately as mentioned in the description above at MasterCook.com. Then you will have the Pro version.

Pete User Your website shows a price of $74. Here, on BitsDuJour your 50% discount results in a $50 price. Can you provide a true 50% discount please?

Dunking I had a browse of your website but it's not clear to me what Pro is apart from 'Cloud'. Does syncing demand a Pro subscription, for instance?
As an ex-Living Cookbook user I am very wary indeed of license issues. Can MasterCook be installed and used without you existing?

MasterCook Support Pete User,

Please see the main website where it states all products are currently 25% off at MasterCook.com. Go to the product page at MasterCook.com here: https://www.mastercook.co...se-license It lists the regular price $100 and the current MasterCook.com sale price at 25%. The sale here at Bits DuJour is 50% of the regular price.

MasterCook Support The pro version is a combination of the Windows product and a one-year subscription to MasterCook.

Syncing allows the Windows product to sync with a subscription to MasterCook.com. So, you would only use syncing if you have a subscription to MasterCook.com. There is no other purpose for it.

Some people use only the MasterCook Windows product. Some people use only the MasterCook.com online subscription. Some people use both. You get to choose what to use and purchase.

You are absolutely correct that you cannot use your Living Cookbook download installation file on a new computer because it requires you to get an activation code from Living Cookbook. That is no longer possible since Living Cookbook went out of business several years ago. This MasterCook 2020 download does not require a code to install. Keep a copy of your purchased installation file, so you can use it if you get a new computer. The license for MasterCook is per user and not per computer.

Susan User Can you save the recipes to a file or do you need a subsription to save them at all?

Sep 28 2021 at 3:15pm Copy Link

MasterCook Support Hi Susan,

MasterCook 2020 is the stand-alone Windows product. It does not even require an internet connection to function.

When you add recipes to MasterCook 2020, those recipes are stored within the .mc2 and .mcx cookbook files on your computer. The export command from the File menu creates a file on your computer. You can export each recipe to its own file or several recipes to one file.

Additionally, you can print selected recipes or an entire cookbook to a PDF file by using the PDF printer that installs with Windows.

A subscription is only required if you wish to use the online tools at MasterCook.com or the mobile apps that work with a MasterCook.com subscription. These are separate and optional from the MasterCook 2020 Windows product on sale here today.
