What are people saying about Movienizer

Henrik Safegaard I just bought this. It's fabulous. My best recommendation. :-)

Jason Howard My concern is am I purchasing something that will only be supported with free updates for a few weeks, before I have to purchase the next major version?

http://www.movienizer.com...p?f=11&t=6

Version 2 went to 2.2 before jumping to 3 (7 months)
Version 3 went to 3.3 before jumping to 4 (12 months)
Version 4 is currently at 4.4 (8 months)
Is this going to become version 5 next week?

I'd rather know that I am getting at least 12 months of support and updates rather than some unknown period that equates to whatever the developer feels version 4 should run to, before requiring all users to fork out for version 5.

@Jason, what you are getting is "Free upgrades for minor versions, paid upgrade with 50% discounts to future versions to owners of the preceding major version."

Husker Tech Well, its probably too later to get a response during the discount, but does this software allow you to use a scanner to read barcodes? Thanks.

Tazzie @Jason, thanks for pointing out the update trend for this program. It does indeed indicate a likelihood, barring a refute by the developer, that a version upgrade is in the works under less than a year and possibly even less than six months. The price paid for the deal today plus 50% discount upgrade price for the next version upgrade would in the end amount to an overall discount of 20% or so. Not really that great of a deal, and if in fact a version upgrade has been planned as speculated, then not such a sacrifice on the developer's part with only 20% discount and a new batch of end users, to boot. I'm curious to see what happens.

Something to think about. With this type of offer, we can take a good deal and have time to more thoroughly try out the program, then decide if the program at a reduced overall discount is worth settling for.

Vlad @All, once a major version is released, you can continue using your older version without upgrading. The older version is supported at least 1 year since the release of the next major upgrade, which means if you purchase Movienizer 4.x, your version will be supported 1 year since the release of Movienizer 5.x.

@Harlan Bruce, yes, the program supports barcode scanners.

Tazzie @Vlad ... I appreciate that the older version would still be supported. I just get frustrated when new versions come out not long after I buy a program, then I have to decide if I can afford to upgrade or not, which can be hard to decide, especially if I like the program and want the upgrades.

In any case, I was unable to get back online to make the deal ... Movienizer has a lot of great features I would have liked to have tried out. Oh well ... maybe next time :)

Husker Tech I did just sneak in and complete my purchase before the deal expired and I am very happy with its features. It seems to have all the features of Movie Collector (Collectorz) that I am also trying.
