Yay, you're starting your vacation! That's the good news. The bad news is that, between the time you lock your door and the time you check in at your hotel, you're going to spend a lot of time waiting in airports, waiting to take off, flying, waiting to get to the gate, and so on. The destination is wonderful, the journey - well, not so much. You need a way to pass the time!

With MPEG Video Wizard DVD, you can take that stack of movies and television shows and convert them into a format that plays on your portable media player (such as your iPod or PSP)! While your fellow passengers are flipping through the airline magazine, you'll be sitting pretty watching the latest blockbusters!

The ability to burn movies to a portable format would be reason enough to pick up MPEG Video Wizard DVD, but there's so much more! The app provides a set of powerful tools for multiplexing and de-multiplexing, MPEG format conversion, repairing data errors, and other features. You can also choose to burn your movies to a multitude of other formats, as well - formats like DivX, XVid, AVI, and MP4. Or, go the other way, and use MPEG Video Wizard DVD to convert your home videos in DV format to MPEG-2 and DVD-compatible files, with support for snappy DVD menus! You can even edit your existing MPEG videos with minimal re-encoding!

So, have fun on your trip. Just don't forget to set your Out of Office autoreply on your email, so we don't worry about you when we don't hear from you!

CFGuy For Womble Rep - Program looks interesting, with lots of nice features. I have 1 technical question, and a few "EULA" questions. First, technically, can the program handle output (or conversion) to ".mkv" file format? Also, is activation used during installation - and if so is it software or hardware with footprint? ( I only ask because I am a "techie" who likes to upgrade computers, or replace old computers with new systems more frequently than some users) May the program(s) be transferred to a new computer, if I were to get a new system in the future, after purchasing program(s)? Thanks for your help in addressing these pre-sales questions/concerns. -CFGuy

One of two video-programs I used quiet often, when creating nice videos for myself.

One main advantage is, it does not reencode mpg-snippets, if not necessary, i.e. if no filter is applied to them or the output-format is different, so it provides lossless results (and is blazingly fast). Which part of the resulting video/audio is about to be re-encoded and which part is not can be seen easily before exporting.

I'm not sure though, if this also is true for flv, mp4, ... video-formats. If it is not I really would like, if this could be provided too...

What I am missing, is an easy way to define as output-format the exact input-format of one given video-file. This would result in an output-file where all the snippets, which have this format (and are unfiltered) would stay un-re-encoded. Of course this could be done manually, but since a video-file has so many parameters it is quiet uncomfortable.
