There's a guy here in the office whose entire cubicle - desk, monitor, cabinets, every conceivable surface - is completely covered in yellow Post-It notes. Each one of those notes has some bit of important information scribbled on it, and I'm really not sure if there's a method to his madness.

MyInfo is like a vacuum for all of those bits of information that you need to keep at hand. Capturing info snippets is easy as pie, whether it be from a Word documents, CSV table, or just about anywhere on the Internet. You can open Outlook messages from directly within MyInfo, and even capture entire web pages for offline review!

Items that you capture in MyInfo are easily integrated into the program by dragging and dropping text, pictures, links, files, and mail messages into the Tree Editor. MyInfo's Tree Editor instantly creates the appropriate document type for the imported data, and you have the ability to drag and drop documents in the tree to reorder them. Use MyInfo's fully featured text editor to format your data for a consistent, professional look and feel.

What good would a personal organizer be if it didn't organize? MyInfo gives you lots of ways to arrange, prioritize, sort, and filter your data using tags, customized attributes, bookmarks, a handy calendar view, plus the ability to insert tasks into MyInfo with priority and due dates! Working with multiple files is a breeze using the familiar tab-based interface.

MyInfo comes chock-full of ways to share and export your information easily. Export documents as web pages, hierarchical folders, and spreadsheet files, or create links to topics and documents within MyInfo and place quick-open shortcuts on your computer's desktop!

Today's promotion is for both MyInfo Standard and MyInfo Professional. Check out some of the additional Pro features below or take a look at the MyInfo version comparison matrix.

  • Now you can hoist your documents, so only the hoisted documents and its children are visible in the tree.
  • Topic workplaces now allow you to work easily with sets of topics.
  • Global find and replace in the entire topic (searches and replaces text in all documents).
  • Now includes a word count dialog.
  • Portable! Install and run MyInfo Professional on a USB/flash drive.
  • Utilize AES256 encryption.
  • Export MyInfo data as a website or CSV spreadsheet.
This promotion includes the following:
MyInfo Standard v6.0 ($49.95)
MyInfo Professional v6.0 ($99.95)

Peter User Can it split a note, rearrange the split part then join it together or join split parts with other notes. Can it sort words inside a note alphabetically?
Apr 28 2015 at 8:42am Copy Link
Petko Georgiev @Peter, both are not possible in the current version. There are no plans for a sort function inside the text editor at this time. But splitting and joining notes is planned for MyInfo 7.

Karl M. What is the advantage of MyInfo over Evernote?
Apr 29 2015 at 2:23am Copy Link
Petko Georgiev @Karl, MyInfo supports hierarchical organization (outline) of the notes, in addition to organizing them via tags.
In MyInfo you can also add custom columns for metadata (like prices, various dates, etc) for each note, which gives you a better control later on, when you want to filter notes by a certain criteria.

In other words, MyInfo is for people who want to have more sophisticated ways to organize their information, but it is still easy to learn and use.

Peter Gabriel I keep getting an error message 'List index out of bounds (5)' when I try to open 'Options'. Is there a fix for this please?

Thank you.

Petko Georgiev @Peter, I am sorry about this problem. All you need to do is to restart MyInfo and you will no longer get the error. Meanwhile, we are going to release a new version, where this problem is fixed from the start.

@Pascal, the help file is only available as CHM file currently, so you can copy/paste any page that you are interested in in Google Translate. I can convert the whole file to PDF for you, if this will be of any help.

Rolf Backman Ver 7 what´s new..
Apr 29 2015 at 7:14am Copy Link
Petko Georgiev MyInfo 7 is a work in progress, so there is no definite list of changes yet. But so far this will be part of it:

* Cross-platform file format, which will allow the creation of MyInfo versions for other desktop and mobile platforms
* Instantaneous save and load of MyInfo files: the new version will use database-based instead of file-based information storage
* Searching in document attachments (for selected files types like text, PDF, etc)
* Multiple attachments per document
* Split, merge/join documents
* Updated user interface
* Many exciting new features to be announced later

MyInfo 7 is expected later this year, but no matter when it is released, everyone who purchases MyInfo 6 today, will get it free.

Peter User Is this deal price for the standard or pro version?
Apr 29 2015 at 7:57am Copy Link
Petko Georgiev @Peter, there are deal prices for both editions:
MyInfo Standard: $24.48
MyInfo Professional: $48.98

Peter User Thanks Petko. I should have looked more closely before asking.

Stefan Mueller I experience quite a few interface glitches:
When switching topic tabs - the window title becomes transparent, and there is also screen flickering every time I browse through the tabs.

The tab captions are very tiny, hard to read on a high resolution screen. Is there a way to enlarge the font? Via ini-tweak or some kind of hidden setting?

Column headers in the tree are missing their sort-order triangles. They don't give any hint as to what column they are sorted by.

Reminders don't show up in the Reminder window. When I click inside, I get this error message:
Access violation at address 00CE60CC in module 'MyInfo.exe'. Read of address 00000004.

"Starts Group" in Favorites does not seem to work?
Apr 29 2015 at 8:44am Copy Link
Ela S. Same question as every year:

Can this new version 6 change the color of the program interface or have we still to wait for version 7?

Otherwise, if we buy today, will the update to the promised version 7 this year then be free of charge for us?

I am so interested to buy the pro version.
Apr 29 2015 at 10:01am Copy Link
Petko Georgiev @Stefan, thank you for your remarks. I can confirm the favorites Starts Group problem. Unfortunately, I can reproduce the flickering and the Reminder window error.
Also, please note that the Reminder window shows only reminders that are due, not future ones.
The column headers in the tree have no sort-order triangles by design, because the items in the tree are ordered manually by you. If you want to sort them by a column, you need to switch to the Filter pane, where this is possible.

@Ela, MyInfo 7 will have a new, updated user interface, which will use more subtle colors (no more the prevalent blue). I can't say yet, if it will be possible to change the color, but I am sure that you will find it better looking than the current one. And yes, MyInfo 7 will be free for you, if you purchase MyInfo today.

Pascal User I agree for "help" in a PDF document without link (just flat) that will allow a complete copy of the help in a single click to the Google translator.
Thank you for your commitment.
In that case, I'll order the professional version.

Derek User Petko, if we already have this application in 6.0 and like and use it, will things like the flash portability survive into the 7.0 version? Are we better off getting this deal for a new account or the upgrade to 7.0 as an existing 6.0 myinfo customer? What major changes will 7.0 bring?
Apr 29 2015 at 11:44am Copy Link
Pascal User I put the address translation by Google and I get: "An error occurred while loading Preview ..."
The translation does not work for this address you gave.
I expect a better proposal.
Apr 29 2015 at 12:06pm Copy Link
Petko Georgiev @Derek, you can wait for the upgrade offer for existing customers. The price for upgrading will be no more than the current offer and probably less. For the new features, please look a few posts above.

@Pascal, I've run the help file with Google Translate and this is the result I get:

In order to see the translation correctly, you need to download the file on your computer.
Milenix Software Ltd. - Apr 29 2015 at 12:18pm Copy Link
John Gallagher So I purchased & downloaded the pro versions and both fail Norton 360 file insight scans as unknown and recommended to delete! The vendors of MyInfo need to do a better job coordinating with security vendors.
Apr 29 2015 at 12:32pm Copy Link
Pascal User The translation is done until page 68. The rest is in English. Nothing is simple.
I'll manage otherwise.
Anyway, I bought!
Apr 29 2015 at 12:34pm Copy Link
Petko Georgiev @John, we will contact Symantec about this issue. The file is clean.

@Pascal, if you download the file and open it locally with your browser, it should be translated correctly. The preview on does not work properly.
Milenix Software Ltd. - Apr 29 2015 at 12:42pm Copy Link
Pascal User Sorry. The PDF file was already registered. I have not managed to translate. Many waste of time.

Stefan Mueller @Petko
Thank you for the honest answer. Yes, I can see now that sorting columns is possible in the filter pane. Good idea to keep it separate from the list.

It's not possible to increase the font size for the topic tabs? Not even by some tweak?

This software really has a lot of potential. If only I would not run into so many problems. Numbered lists start over with 1 at the second level. Not possible to change to 1.1 or a,b,c
Also, the numbers do not adjust to the font size. They remain small and at the very bottom which looks terrible.
The reason I had to increase the font size = Zooming does not work. Not by mouse-wheeling, nor by Ctrl Num +-

When clicking in the search results pane I sometimes lose half of my window, it goes transparent and shows the programs underneath.

I would still consider buying it if I had hopes for problems getting fixed. Do you have a change log somewhere? To see how often updates come rolling around and what had been done in those updates?
Apr 29 2015 at 1:36pm Copy Link
Petko Georgiev @Stefan, you can see a log of MyInfo updates here:

Tab font size is determined by the Windows screen settings, so you can try some different values there and see if it will look better.
Milenix Software Ltd. - Apr 29 2015 at 3:22pm Copy Link
Stefan Mueller Thank you Petko
What Windows element do I need to change? I cannot find the element that controls the tab font. It seems to be different from what other apps use in their tabbed interface.

Operation límits: What is the max file size for a topic?
I noticed embedded files are limited to 20 MB.
Not enough for my files, so I will link to them. Will these links be relative, so they still function when I run MyInfo portable from changing drive letters?
Apr 29 2015 at 10:07pm Copy Link
Petko Georgiev @Stefan, tabs are using the Tahoma font and their size should be relative to the default font size on your Windows installation. Could you send us a screenshot of MyInfo on your system at, so we could how it looks exactly there?

As for the operation limits, you are right: embedded files are limited to 20 MB in this version, this limit will be at least 50 MB in MyInfo 7. There is an option to use Relative links where possible in Options > Editing, so they should be linked properly on a portable drive.
Milenix Software Ltd. - Apr 29 2015 at 11:27pm Copy Link
Stefan Mueller @Petko
will send you the screenshot, so you can see the problem on high resolution.

Appreciating your supportive feedback - just ordered it at the last minute :-)

Petr Your software looks very capable. There is a critical feature that I'm missing, hoping you have this in your plans:

#1. Can this app sync with my mobile devices (iOS and Android), as I have an iPhone, Samsung Note 4 and an iPad.

I work on all my devices and require this kind of app, but it must sync to enable viewing & editing on the other devices. Currently, I use eWallet which does sync but is not as feature rich as your software. Thx.

PC USER Dear Petko
Will there still be 2 types of your software in version 7, Std & Pro?

If so, what will be the differences?

Apr 30 2015 at 2:49am Copy Link
Rich OBrien If you have a large collection of PDF files, MyInfo is the program to have. It contains its own PDF file viewer. Each PDF file is displayed perfectly below a pane where you can write fully formatted notes and paste pictures. On the left can be a list of all your PDF files. I've looked at a lot of PDF viewers. None of the others enables you to organize your PDF files into lists grouped in folders. And none of the others provides a place to write notes for each PDF file. MyInfo is a really useful Personal Information Manager that goes beyond just about every other program.
Apr 30 2015 at 4:57am Copy Link
Stefan Mueller @Rich
Sounds useful. But does not work here. The lower pane opens up and tells me it had to cancel. Immediately after that my default PDF-viewer pops up and displays the PDF correctly. Tried it with dozens of PDF, always the same error.

Peter User What is the difference between Standard and Pro
Apr 30 2015 at 7:22am Copy Link
Stefan Mueller Standard vs Pro

Hoist = Temporally hide irrelevant documents from the tree.
Apr 30 2015 at 7:30am Copy Link
Petko Georgiev @Petr, once we release MyInfo 7, we will start working on mobile versions of MyInfo. But currently, there is no way to sync, except by exporting the topic as a web site and viewing it online.

@PC USER, yes, we indent to keep both editions in MyInfo 7, but I can't tell if there will be new differences between them in addition to those listed in the Stefan's link to our compare page.

@Stefan: in order the PDF to open inline, they should be configured to do so in Internet Explorer (this is what MyInfo uses for its internal viewer).
As for importing Ms Word files, you should be able to insert them using Insert > File. If the Ms Word option does not appear there, you need to install this:

Toni McConnel I already have MyInfo and have used it for years. When I saw this deal in update from Bits du Jour I came on just to say that this is one of the two most valuable programs I own and it's the primary reason I don't move entirely to Mac. It's that good, folks, and as you can see from this discussion thread, Petko is very responsive. The more you use it the more ways you can see to make it work for you. And believe me, I've tried just about every information manager there is. No - I have no financial or any other kind of ties to MyInfo. I'm just a very very happy customer in this world where hardly anything works as it should anymore.

Sebastian Guzek Hi Petko,
Any idea about v7 release date? Will it include internal document (pdf, docx, xlsx, etc) viewer with ability to index contents for instant search? Can you reveal any of the upcoming features?
Jul 13 2016 at 5:27pm Copy Link
Petko Georgiev @Sebastian, we are currently beta testing MyInfo 7 (will soon open the beta testing to all existing customers). I can't tell yet whether it will include internal viewer for Ms Office files, but it will support PDFs and will search in their contents.
