Ralph Cohen I would very much like to purchase this software but the payment system appears to be broken. I have tried placing the order via RegNow with Paypal and with two different credit cards but I receive an error every time complaining about some kind of communications problem. I have emailed RegNow's support and have received two canned replies back that don't solve the problem. Please let me know if there's some other way to complete the order. Thanks.

Sergey Korobov This program is designed for home users, not administrators, and does not require administrator privileges to run. (Of course, without administrative rights some functions will not work, but these functions are not many).

For authorization on the remote computers that does not support guest access, you can specify a user name (username or domain\username) and password in the settings of the program.

Tihamér User My license key doesn't work with with 4.11.0. I upgraded it from 4.10.1 to 4.10.2 and after that to 4.10.3. But after Updating the software to 4.11.0 my license is not accepted anymore! It reverts back to trial...

The policy here on BitsDuJour mentions that all future upgrades are free! Quote: "Upgrades to future versions of the software will be free for the lifetime of the product." Now what's going on? That means I can't use the software anymore with 4.11.0? I love MyLanViewer and I don't want to loose my license and all the future updates.

David Vaughan My update attempt was also unsuccessful so I contacted mylanviewer.com directly and was informed that this 100% off special was only for the then current version and does not qualify for any updates (even minor ones). They did offer me a nice discount if I want to purchase the full version with lifetime updates. I went ahead and purchased. Seems like a useful program.

Borge Larsen There is a problem with your "Software Receipt Mail". It does not include any licensing registration data — although it says :
"Make sure to input the registration info exactly as it is shown below".
However, there is no such registration info.
I even got a re-mailing of this "Software Receipt Mail" — but alas: Exactly the same result - NO licensing info was included !

Dana Anderson It won't take my registration code. No mention of registration name is made in the email, except Purchased by:, but it is not accepting my input. I tried leaving the name blank, that didn't work. I tried putting in MyLanViewer as the name, that didn't work. It gives no error message, it just sits there not doing anything.

Trucker I just tried to install a newer version, but it told me that the evaluation periode was over...
SO, I just looked in the registry file and there was still a lot of info from the old version that haven't been removed when I uninstalled that old version.
I will stay away from this program as well, bad news, if you don't clean the registry often...

Constantin Florea I am sorry about the registration issue. The codes are good except we used an older installer. The correct installer has been updated into the promotion purchase flow.

You can download the installer again from the receipt email since it now points to the correct file, or you can use the direct URL specified below, they are the same file.

Allan Winston In clicking on the download link in Chrome,, no downloads have occurred per Control-J. I copied the URL to Microsoft Edge and gained additional insight. The download still did not occur but Control-J gave me the error message "file cannot be downloaded securely". Performing some research, I followed the directions here to circumvent the problem:

This situation calls for some research by the BitsduJour staff or by the MyLanViewer software vendor.

"The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect";

Further to the BdJ offer of roughly a couple of weeks ago, I purchased, downloaded, installed and registered a copy of MyLanViewer.

A few days back, MLV got a minor update which I promptly downloaded (from the Developer's official site) & applied.

Regretfully however, after applying the update the software reversed to expired trial version and all my attempts to revive it failed.

I DID contact (via email) the developer, but -- just as regretfully -- no answer has been received so far.

Your suggestion as to how to proceed will be most appreciated (surely, no one wants to pay for a piece of software that works only a couple of weeks, due to licensing issues ...)

Constantin Florea @Eric, I am sorry about the issue. Indeed, the majority of our giveaway deals do have this condition, specifically when the installer is updated, the code does not work with the new version because the registration code is only meant to work with a specific version. In the Fine Print Tab of this promotion I see the following:
"
Upgrades to future versions of the software will require additional payment. Installing a new version may overwrite the existing version and invalidate your license key.
"

Unfortunately we cannot do anything about this, except for suggesting to either purchase the full version or participate in the giveaway of this product when it will run again. It did very well the last time it ran so most likely we will run it again, of course that will happen only if we have the vendor's approval.

Thanks for the prompt reply.

While I might have missed that part of the "small print", here are however a couple of points worth investigating:

* This is not my first encounter with S. K. Software's "MyLanViewer": back on April 28, 2014, I purchased (through BitsDuJour, of course!) a "Family License" (5PCs), which was not a "giveaway" but rather well paid.
I used it on 3 PCs and updated it with the minor releases.
Sometime after the successful update to the August 2019 release of v. 4.20, at separate points in time, the software reversed, on each of the PCs, out of the blue, to its expired trial state, despite my having valid license keys.
S. K. Software failed to reply to my inquiries then as well; they also failed to reply to the inquiries of PayPal (on my behalf).
So I simply removed the software from my machines, as it became useless.

The point being, that it is not a first for MyLanViewer to stop working when least expected.

* As I mentioned in my original inquiry and restated here, S. K. Software replies seem to never be sent.
Nice and useful as their software pack may be (and it actually is), is this the kind of Support you would require and expect from a company that you advertise? Does this not hurt Bits du Jour's good name too?

Just to be fair: over the years I have purchased quite a lot of very useful software packs through Bits du Jour's great offers, and -- with this very specific exception -- never had any issues with either the software or the Support requested and received for it.

Another way is that you try and resend it from your Purchases page.

Peter Blaise I use Mylanviewer to quickly access my other computers in my location via FREE Teamviewer.

We can add a program to MyLanViewer's internal right-click menu of actions to take when pointing to a computer in the scanned list of computers.

To add FREE Teamviewer remote control, first install FREE Teamviewer, then do this inside MyLanViewer:
- Right-click on a found computer
- select [ Open computer with ]
- [ Edit Applications ... ]
- [ + Add ]
- Application title: [ Teamviewer ] - add this
- Path: [ C:\Program Files (x86)\TeamViewer\TeamViewer.exe ]
- click the Start enumeration icon
- wait
- double-click a found shared folder
- it opens in Microsoft Windows File Explorer,
- no way to save or export a list of network shares as a text file.

MyLanViewer can only save a poorly formatted text file of devices, it does not print well, but it does have a CSV export that nicely imports into a spreadsheet, then we can format for printing, but it only reports physical devices, no network logical shares.

Alternative FREE Advanced-IP-Scanner can immediately save and print the immediately displayed scan results, which is a cleanly-formatted 'map' of network devices AND logical shares - I scan and print and pin one on the wall wherever I find a router, any place I go and connect.

I have difficulty getting MyLanviewer to re-scan a new network list when I take my computer to another network or when I change my router or router address, it's hard to get it to re-scan and trust that it found and is displaying the new network and not just re-displaying history of the old network that I am no longer connected to.

It makes no sense to me to have to do and un-do things wherever I go, I expect to open MyLanViewer and see my LAN, right now.

We cannot sort by a computer's found 'friendly' network name, nor by IP address, nor by device manufacturer ( such as, show all Dells together, show all HPs together ) - alternative FREE Advanced-IP-Scanner can resort the found list of LAN devices by displayed column contents, such as Name, IP, Manufacturer, and so on.

MyLanViewer claims to be able to control our shared folders, but I see no such power or tools inside the program - we have to exit and manually find Microsoft Windows Computer Management, Shared Folders, Shares, then right-click a share and select [ Stop sharing ], or select [ Action ], [ New ], [ Share ... ], and then follow the [ Create A Shared Folder Wizard ] - none of that is do-able inside MyLanviewer.

And some of MyLanviewer's tool windows are not resizable.

MyLanViewer has some deep reporting tools, but the program is more for technicians who are wire crimpers, and physical device management, than it is for people who manage shared logical resources such as data in directories across a network, nor does it empower us to troubleshoot why a network share might be failing.

Recommendations to MyLanViewer for improvements:
- immediately enumerate logical shares, not just physical shares
- allow intelligent saving, printing, and exporting of all presentations
- allow resizing of all windows
- intelligently discover, identify, and present when I am connected to a new network
- present all information on the screen in spreadsheet columns that I can search, sort, and select
- really manage logical sharing of data directories
- include testing and troubleshooting.

In other words, like IObit, stop being a one-trick-pony, and instead expand and develop a full toolkit for LAN Management, including shares and troubleshooting, not just physical LAN Device Reporting.

John User Not a program for rookies. It is not intuitive and very confused if you don't know the intricacies of a network and computers. Besides, it lacks of a tutorial for newbies cause the docs are extensive and confused as well.
