The key to actually getting anything on your To Do list done is organization. Let's face it -- a poorly organized task list is a task list that you will soon abandon. Thankfully, My Life Organized Professional is here to help you make the most of your task management!

With My Life Organized Professional, you get the full benefit of an easy-to-use interface that gives you the power to throw everything that you need to do into an inbox, which you then organize into tasks and subtasks, complete with time-to-completion and order priority. You can combine several tasks into projects, set dependencies, assign flags, collaborate with others, and track your progress! Everything appears in a visually intuitive nested tree interface, giving you the ability to view all of your tasks at a glance.

My Life Organized Professional even lets you sync your tasks to Outlook and your PDA and adapts to your own way of doing things, so there's no new procedures to follow. Best of all, My Life Organized Professional is lightweight and portable, weighing in at a mere 5Mb for a single executable.

The program can even be run off of a USB flash drive, ensuring that your tasks can travel with you wherever you go!

Mr. Yoop The features of MyLifeOrganized seem real cool for a ToDo Tracker ;-) Nevertheless, there is one major concern: I have read on your web site that an iPhone application is not yet available but already on its way. Do you have any detailed information when the iPhone App will be released? Must it purchased separately or is it part of the Professional license offered at Bits du Jour?

Thanks for your support!

Andrey Tkachuk Hi Mr. Yoop!

Yes we are working hard on iPhone and BlackBerry applications which will sync with MLO Desktop version.

You can subscribe to our mailing list or forum to receive status updates about iPhone development and planned release date:
http://bit.ly/827LW1

Since MLO iPhone version is not ready yet it is not part of the offer at Bits du Jour.

Thanks,
Andrey.

Nick Kobe Hi!

I have a desktop PC and several laptops. I'm the only user of these PCs. Does your license apply per computer or per user?

Thanks!

Andrey Tkachuk Hi Ron,

YES! We have plans for Android. Since BlackBerry and Android are both Java-based for developers we will just port our code base from BlackBerry to Android and will utilize all advantages of this new and great mobile platform.

The license apply per user. So you can install MLO on all your computers if only you using MLO on them.

Thanks!

Jerry S I would strongly urge that anyone considering the purchase of this product, even at this very low price, give it an intensive workout first. I bought it a few years ago and never got the PPC version to work. Tech support was a joke, relying on a Google group. Fixes were promised and promised and promised. But the PPC version never got fixed. That said, I think the developer is well-intentioned and honest, so I will consider upgrading my Version 1.x to Version 3. I'll take a look at the forums and see if there are fewer complaints than there used to be - or just differerent complaintts.

Just be careful on going for this product. It promises much, but I found that it came up short.

Jerry S First, my apologies for the previous double posting.

Second, I have checked the MLO forums and, with all due credit to them, the complaints about bugs seem to be far fewer these days, so I guess I will take the chance and upgrade. Like I said, the developer seems well-intentioned and honest. The idea of having a time management tool (that works) and is patterned on David Allen's Getting Things Done system is a powerful lure.

Andrey Tkachuk Hi Jerry and thank you for your message!

Yes we have the community group with 2600+ active users: http://bit.ly/7NUcm6 People there can share their experience and ask questions. The atmosphere is very friendly and we are considering this as big advantage of our product. We always listen to our users who often suggest great improvement to MLO.

Of course, we have email Tech support and we pay attention to each email with problem.

A few words about PPC version. Yes it is tricky to develop and support a product on the Windows Mobile platform. Each device may have its own customized copy of the OS. Sometimes one application installed on your device prevents others to work properly. Besides your carrier, for example, may apply some security restrictions preventing you to install third party applications or not allowing them to use all the features. This is why we have 45-day trial period during which we are doing our best to help in each situation.

We are also working on Internet Synchronization to give users alternative to ActiveSync.

And finally we are working on other mobile platforms (BlackBerry, iPhone, Android) to give all users the choice.

You can see yourself what people are saying about MLO. Just two examples below.

I have found this blog post about GTD applications on organizeit.co.uk. See what people are say in comments about MLO:
http://bit.ly/5ZdIWt

Here is the post on our forum where people mention what they are using in MLO and why they like it:

Robert Reese Lost a couple of sales. Why? Simple. "MLO" is a Time Management tool. Yet, MLO has no calendar! Let me ask you this... would you buy an automobile that intentionally left out the headlights?

Humans measure time two ways: increments of time in a single day, and units of days comprising calendars. A calendar is such a fundamental requirement to a time management tool that it shocked me to discover it was missing.

This gobsmacking fact, it turns out, is very much deliberate. In the documentation and on the website, the author, starting in the Introduction, repeatedly states, "MLO will not replace your Calendar, Outlook or Excel". To which I reply, "Why not?" He follows that line directly with, "but it will help you organize your tasks into ...[a] sequential list ... to achieve your goals as quickly as possible." To which my response is, "How, without a method of time measurement beyond a clock?"

The author continues to ignore pleas and requests from his users. You need only look at his forum to find that more than half of the posts either contain the word "calendar" or have it listed (ubiquitously) as a feature request with numerous "+1" posts following. It has been a requested feature nearly from day one. But the same response is given: 'use another program'.

Okay, sir, you win. I'll use another program.

Sigh... really? @ Robert Reese

Is the concept that a task management system could COMPLEMENT a calender rather than replace it really that strange to you? Think about how many of us religiously use the Outlook or Google calendars? I would guess it's the majority. Why do we need another big grid of boxes competing for our screen space?

Beyond that, your "more than half of the posts" paragraph is distasteful to the point of nausea. I checked your numbers. Out of ~15,000 message posts, 1,700 contain the word calendar. Not 7,500+ as you imply. I also browsed through the first 10 pages of said search results. Maybe 5% had anything to do with a feature request. So very quickly, your 7,500 turns into 85.

Finally, I took a moment to browse through the MLO forum sticky "What are the top five features you want to add to MLO?". Ok, I did more than browse. I scanned every single one of the 66 responses. A grand total of 15 users requested the calendar function, and one of those requested a read-only. Note that these results would be included in the aforementioned 85.

Shame on your lazy lack of diligence.

Kipland Dynamite @Sigh...

I suspect you are one of the "no-calendar" tyrants that patrol the MLO user forum brow-beating anyone that expresses a desire for a calendar into submission.

Count the forum posts whichever way you want, a calendar feature has been a significant request for a very long time. And when it does appear, the number of posters in support usually outweighs the detractors. Good job of "diligently" avoiding that issue. And, no, I'm not looking for another "big grid of boxes," I'm looking for one that is actually useful. Outlook? Google Calendar? Are you kidding me?

My apologies to everyone else for venting. My frustration with this product, its developer and the forum tyrants got the best of me. I tried using MLO for over a year and finally gave up due to the apparent disinterest in what appears to be a feature desired by a significant percentage of its users.
