Charlotte Sinclaire I am kind of intrigued by this software, but -- sorry -- this is one of the worst video intros I've ever seen. Basically, it was just a flying cursor going places that didn't seem logical without any voiceover explaining what was going on. I never really understood what was being demonstrated and while that might become clear if I watched it again, I don't have time. I might pick this software up, since it is 100% discounted, and try to figure it out on my own, and I hope it does something helpful because I really can't tell from the video.

Sorry if the video does not explain the features of the software clearly enough. You have to watch the entire video to understand how the software works.

But here is a quick step-by-step tutorial for those that don't have time to watch the entire video:

1. Add the audio files that you want to organize (+ Add)
2. Choose the folder structure (Organize By)
3. Choose a renaming scheme (Rename)
4. Select an output folder for your organized music collection (Output Folder)
5. Press Start and let NeatMP3 organize your music

Charlotte Sinclaire Thanks for the step by step instructions. Just to be clear, I did watch your video in is entirety. I just did not have time to sit through it a second time to try to puzzle it out. It appears, at one point, that one needs to do song-by-song editing of the info, and I can't tell from the video what part of the organizing process your software has automated. Perhaps with a voice-over , or even some screen notes or a highlighted cursor, it would be easier. However, I will try to walk through your instructions but at this point am still unclear what you have automated.

Cezar Popescu Yes, I agree that the video can be a little bit hard to follow and we will take into consideration creating a new, more informative video in the near future.

NeatMP3 automatically organizes and renames your selected audio files by analyzing their tag information.

Sometimes this tag information is missing so when NeatMP3 finds such an audio file during the organizing session it will first try to automatically fill the Artist and Title tags by analyzing the original file name. If this fails, it will launch a dialog that allows you to edit the incomplete tags manually, this way making sure that the organizing process is done correctly.

So tag editing is not fully automated. We intend to implement this feature in one of our future releases. If you get NeatMP3 Pro with this promotion you will be able to upgrade for free to all the future versions of the software.

twm Seems too limited for me.
Where are custom pre-sets for renaming?
Where is live preview for all files?
You have logs, great, but they are very minimal of showing only timestamps and not what was committed to the file system.
Not really clear from UI if files are moved or copied which takes much longer,
a simple file rename without organizing should not require moving at all.
Considering the competition in such a valuable automated task I would not think limiting options is a good idea.
1 more, how does file cut and rename earn disk space as featured?

We designed NeatMP3 with simplicity and ease of use in mind so that both beginners and advanced users could benefit from its features.

We considered that overloading the interface with dozens of options will discourage the more inexperienced users so we decided that NeatMP3 should offer a straightforward interface with a small number of options presented in a user friendly way.

Custom presets for renaming together with a more detailed log file will be available in one of the future releases of NeatMP3 Pro.

We already have a preview for individual files. Just select a file from the list and it will show you the path of the corresponding output file. Regarding the preview of ALL the files we are still thinking of a way to implement this in the interface.

Files are never actually moved, they are always copied and if you select the Delete option the original files will be deleted after the copying is done. So that is why it takes the same amount of time for both options.

NeatMP3 does not earn you any additional disk space, it just helps you merge all the scattered audio files on your hard drive in a single folder.

Now regarding the limited options, the software is still fairly new so other new and more complex features will be added on with time. But for now I think NeatMP3 can be a good solution for organizing your music, especially if you are one of those users that don't like spending a lot of time setting up complex options. Some people (including myself) just don't like that.

Maybe you are a more advanced user and think NeatMP3's options are limited but there are probably other users that appreciate the simplicity. It's just a matter of opinion.

However the program is not too robust. It does not allow the user to tag multiple mp3's with one entry. It has no on line data base connection not any provision for artwork.
I'll stick with what I have.

Cezar Popescu @susan brown - Yes, it should work with any number of files. Operations like adding the files to the list or the actual organizing process might take some time to complete but NeatMP3 will get the job done.

There can also be a possible issue if your hard drive does not have enough free space because NeatMP3 copies the audio files to a new folder on your hard drive where it will organize them according to your settings. So you must have an amount of free disk space equal to the size of your music collection for things to work without issues. Be sure to select the option to delete the original files after the organizing process is complete to save disk space.

Also be aware that NeatMP3 will ask you to fill the incomplete tag information for the songs that have such missing info so for a collection of 1 TB it would take a lot of manual editing if you have a lot of incomplete tags.

Constantin Florea @Tom Pribyl - The reason we ask that you try another browser (IE, Chrome, Firefox, Opera) is because the browser you're currently using and which prevents you from accessing the deal, has some add-ons/extensions installed which may interfere with the purchase pop-up. Trying another browser which doesn't have any add-ons/extensions installed should fix the problem and allow you to participate in the promotion.

Maria Gerber The program is only good when you want to destroy your tags. When you use the automatic-funktion and you don´t want the changes that the programm will make - you can click "abort" and by closing "no saving" - but it writes nevertheless wrong data in the tags! Completely useless...

Cezar Popescu @Maria Gerber. Thank you for your feedback and sorry for the inconvenience. Yes, there seems to be a problem when choosing to abort the automatic tagging operation. We will fix this in a future update. A temporary solution to this problem would be to choose the Manually tagging option. This will give you full control over the info that is written in your tags.

I DO realize that today the price is FREE, However, that is NO Excuse for continuing to allow an obviously "Buggy" program to be downloaded... I DO HOPE that yo0u have suspended downloads of the program until you have the re-written Code available for distribution! If you can produce the corrected download and it performs as advertised, you will garner some goodwill among the people who are looking at this offer and strengthen your future prospects for sales !!!

Cezar Popescu @Chris Roy Jackson. To make things clear, there is nothing wrong with the software. You can successfully organize your music using NeatMP3 Pro. It is just that some users don't fully understand how the Automatically Edit Tags option works. And this is mostly our fault. I will try make it as clear as possible:

If you choose to Automatically edit tags, NeatMP3 Pro will go online to find the missing tags of your files and it will also fill them automatically as it finds them. If this online search does not find all the missing tags it will launch a dialog box that asks you to fill the remaining missing tags. So when you choose Abort, you are actually aborting the organizing process, the tags of your files are already filled with the info found online.

But you can rest assured that NeatMP3 will not replace any of your existing tags with wrong ones. It will only fill the missing tags with appropriate info. We did it this way so that the process would require as little user interaction as possible, but it seems that we have to make a few changes in this area so that users will have more control over the automatic tagging process.

An update will be released with these changes as soon as possible. Until then you can successfully use the software to organize your music as long as you understand how it works.

If the current behavior of the Automatically Edit Tags option is not acceptable to you then you can always choose the Manually Edit Tags option that will give you full control over the values that you input for your tags.

Cezar Popescu @K C. I'll say this again. NeatMP3 Pro will never overwrite your existing tags. It will only fill the missing tags with valid information that it finds online. You can always go over the list of files after the automatic tagging process is complete and verify if the tags NeatMP3 found are correct. And if you do find that some info is wrong (because it is an online search that cannot be 100% correct) you can always edit it. NeatMP3 Pro also has a special feature that let's you do this very fast.

Maria Gerber @Cezar Popescu: What you say is not correct at all. "It will only fill the missing tags with valid information that it finds online." - NO! It takes information from the filename and your program only knows format-strings with beginning artist. All my files are named title/artist - you´ll know what´s the result?!?
Your proposal to make it manually is a joke - with this program? For each file opens a new window and you must write x-times for example the artist. How long will this take by thousands of files? Sorry, I say it once more: This program is completely useless.

This YouTuve video is lousy and useless.

To demonstrate how the program is used, have a narrator speaking clearly what he or she is doing at each step, or simply don't publish a useless video like this.
Remember that not every computer user is a computer expert.

Just my 2-cents.

Stephen Rosenbush I was able to download the Mac version, but only after a couple of attempts.

I have spent SEVEN HOURS unsuccessfully trying to download the Windows version. The problem is that the BitsDuJour server does NOT permit resuming, so the download must start completely over whenever a problem or short delay is encountered.

Bottom line is that I doubt I will be able to download the Windows version.

I have tried using both Getright and Free Download Manager, but neither of them has been successful thus far. Neither program has any option for increasing the timeout value.

OK. Getright has finally been able to download the Windows version, after countless attempts.

The problem has been resolved, so please delete this post. Thanks!

Jim Hampton Hi, Ok I've got a naming convention that I've used for years. It's Artist-Track - Song Name and in 3 tries with your software without reading anything I was able to do it!! So ease of use if fantastic. The only thing I can't figure out is how to "pad" tracks 1-9 with a zero in front of it. So like with the unpadded output it looks like this:

Jim Hampton Yeah, it's totally needed. I mean, if it's not implemented, well I want my money back If you do put it in, considering padding for at least 1-4 0000's. It's rare, but i did get some radio cast thing that cracked over 1000 mp3s. But other than that, I gotta say for nothing this is so easy to use and totally makes sense. I've used several renamers, they're ok, but you always gotta fart with stuff to remove, stuff to add, stuff for each album. I like how you just went for the nuts and bolts of the file name.

Only other gripe is, gotta allow to change foreground/background at the very least. I'm older and my can't deal with the white on black.

But like I said, fast, simple, you did a good job here. But like I said, the deal breaker is, you gotta put the padding in :)

EDIT: Meant to also add, if ya do put in the padding, I might just have to give you the whopping fiver you already ask for the program. Still a deal at that.
