anthonyraynor? I used NoClone for years and found it to be a decent product.  It is a subscription past 1 year, although it wasn't obvious they were always visibly updating the product.  Overall, the best of the duplicate finders I have used.

John H Duplicate files are chump change. My problem is duplicated folders due to poorly managed backups and syncs. Duplicated folders based on content and not folder names.

A program that would show me folders with large amounts of duplicate files and allow me to judge the most current and complete folder. A search based on duplicated blocks of files in a folder.

Trying to sort out duplicate files across several hard drives is too time consuming and buying more hard drive space is cheaper than spending my valuable time sorting out individual files.

Just wishing....

I've tried NoClone 2013's trial on a couple of machines (an ancient slow one, and a modern fast one) and have been impressed with its capabilities. It's fast and it finds the duplicates. With photos, it shows examples of the dupes within the program's screen. With videos and emails, it opens the items using the default viewer when you double click the file name. I was surprised at the number of Outlook duplicates it found. At first I thought it was finding threads, but they were actual duplicates. This looks like a winner

VLM Nicole Hui - I can understand the confusion express by Danny Thys. Is this correct:

1. Buy license.
2. License good forever.
3. License includes one year free upgrades.
4. After 1 year, must pay for major version upgrades.
5. Major version upgrades come out roughly once each year.
6. Therefore, from viewpoint of some users, this is, in effect, much like an annual subscription.

Yes? No? Maybe?
Thanks!

Bob Bacle Sounds like an annual subscription to me.
I do not like having to pay for something every year.

Also sounds like the program does not work as advertised if it crashes and won't do files larger than 1 MB.

In a sense this is not true, is certainly not very well put! One asks on their website a maintenance payment! so a kind of annual subscription to NoClone application.

Paul Gibson I have used NoClone for several years and I can say that I have found it to be very effective and easy to use. I was very skeptical to start with and I will still not use the smart marker feature due to my paranoia about deleting items, but I use this program about once a week.

I have not used this newest version as much as I would like, because I have an Enterprise version of the 2007 edition and will upgrade once I find full-time employment. The lack of disposable income is the ONLY reason I have not already upgraded as the similar photo feature would save me tons of time.

I recommend this program to anyone who has large amounts of data on external drives that need checked out. This is one program I am very glad that I bought.

Mitchell Kastner I just purchased no clone 2013 for one reason----- to delete duplicate outlook messages. The program lists as duplicates messages that are entirely different; different from different to different subject different dates different contents.

I thought it would do a bit for bit comparison of each message; it does not or at least I cannot make it list only exactly duplicate messages. I guess it will do an exact comparison for files but as I said I purchased this product only to eliminate duplicate messages in Outlook.

I would like bdj help in obtaining a refund. I did download the trial but I figured I could get it to eliminate exact duplicates when I purchased the full home license. It did not. I tried to access the online forum, but I got a broken link message

Techtoysavvy 1. Does NTFS link function use hard or soft link?
2. Do you support 64-bit Outlook 2013?
Sep 14 2014 at 9:10am Copy Link

Nicole Hui Thanks for your question. Here is the answers:
1. The NTFS link function use hard link. When you select to replace to marked files with hard links, it means that files are linked to the same source only and the rest are deleted, yet it could still access the file in original place. This option is recommended as it could retains the file structure and the point of access to the file.
2. Search in Outlook function supports 64-bit Outlook 2013.

H. H. @developer
Hallo,
the main competitor to no clone - to my opinion - is "duplicate file detective" - its priced more moderately and it has excellent sorting possibilities in the result-windows. There are many columns one can choose - perhaps not all of them are necessary, but what I rteally miss in "no clone" is the possibility to sort (not the same as filter) by extension/type, date created and perhaps some mp3 specific values (bitrate, title,..).
Does reasonable plan to implement those features in no clone too?

The great advantage of "no clone" is the support for search of duplicate folders (most other programs only support duplicate files).

Just to say - I´m customer of no clone 2013, but I really miss the better sorting capabilities of duplicate file detective

Besides unlimited number of files in a single search session, NoClone Enterprise Edition also has unlimited number of network drives. Actually, the free trail, home and enterprise editions are distinguished only on limitations, while the performance of file detective is unified.

Bruce No comments yet for Mar 2015 BDJ offering...
Question 1: is vers 6.1.45 from Aug 2014 the current latest version?
Question 2, from suggestion of last year commenter, has sorting of results been implemented?
Question 3, from website, Supports Multiple File Formats - what does that mean? That it just allows for filtering by file extension code? such as only look for .doc or .txt files? Or that it knows something of the content type and uses that internal type format for some comparison advantage? Though if it does byte comparison I am not sure how a file format type usage applies.
Question 4, when results have been found, does it allow for selecting all-but-one from each dup group? And if so, can this be applied so that one preferred folder gets to keep the originals while the dups from other folders will be removed?
And Question 5, can folders be excluded/included?
Thanks.
Mar 31 2015 at 10:17pm Copy Link

Nicole Hui Thank you for your insterest in NoClone. Please find the answers below:
1. Yes. 6.1.45 is the current latest version.
2. Sorting of results will be implemented in next version.
3. It allows user filer by file extension. If scaning duplicate mp3, it allows user to define duplicate type, such as song name, artist, year and more.
4. Yes. It allows to select all-but-one from each group. And It allows user to remove/copy/delete duplicate files.
5. You can exclude any folder/file before scanning.
