riad af Hello
I am cisidering purchasing password folder in birsdujour promotion but need assistance:
1. What is the encryption method? And is it externally audited?
2. Could the encrypted folder be sync to a cloud storage like onedrive?
3. If i send an encrypted folder to someone by email or usb drive, does he need the software to open it or only the password?
4. Can i install in one license all my machines (laptop, 2 desktops)?

John Cook 1. What is the encryption method? And is it externally audited?

It use a special hiding method, not actually encrypted.

2. Could the encrypted folder be sync to a cloud storage like onedrive?

No, it still store the data on your local disk.

3. If i send an encrypted folder to someone by email or usb drive, does he need the software to open it or only the password?

You cannot send the folder to some one.

4. Can i install in one license all my machines (laptop, 2 desktops)?

One license is for one computer.

Please let me know if you have more questions.

BackuPs I have questions.

What kind of encryption is used on the folders? What if i remove the harddisk and i read the harddisk in another pc that does not have your program are the folders still locked?

The data would not lose. Like what I replied in the previous post, it use a special hiding method, not actually encrypted.

soo mi John, since you use a "special" hiding method, can the folder/files protected by your software still be read when using a Linux OS (e.g., either a portable version of Linux, or a forensics app based on Linux)?

Also, while your app can "hide"/protect files greater than 2GB, can it handle extended file names that approach the 250-character limit in Windows?

John Cook @soo mi

The program doesn't have a Linux or Mac version.

It can hide folders greater than 2GB, and special character filenames.

Bruce User John,

I’m interested in the same question that “soo mi” asked you about the Linux issue. I think that you misunderstood the question, which wanted to know if somebody using a Linux distro OS (whether a portable version, or if the Windows drive with the “hidden folder/directory” on it was mounted in another machine running Linux) could find/see/access the folder that was hidden by your app. Essentially, is the folder only hidden from, or under, Windows, but still visible when the drive is accessed using Linux?

Yes, it could be seen in Linux.

Mark Snyder I just bought this but no where in the software does it allow the activation code so I'm stuck with just the 14 day trial. How can this be fixed?

Angel G I tried it in a folder on a network drive; it worked. But, now I can't access it because it needs to be on the PC where it is installed. Not so good.
