Ah, is there no greater joy than unboxing a new computer? So shiny, so clean, and oh, that new computer smell!

You've pulled out the styrofoam, peeled off the stickers, and booted up the machine for the first time, but now you're faced with the onerous task of moving your programs, files, and settings from your old hunk of junk to your brand new baby. Not fun. Especially since you've lost half of your uninstall disks.

Instead of facing a weekend of disc-hunting and application-by-application installs, why not just use PCmover Home, and get it done fast?

PCmover Home is a lifesaver app designed to quickly and cleanly move all of your programs, files, and settings from your old PC to your new PC! All of your Microsoft Office apps and files, all of your games, your IM clients, photos, videos, music... even your desktop backgrounds and browser settings and bookmarks will be exactly as you remember them!

How easy is it to use PCmover Home? Easier than you can possibly imagine! Just install the program on your old and new computers, click through the intuitive wizard, and let the PCmover Home work it's magic.

That's it. Done. Your weekend has been saved!

But it doesn't stop there -- you can even use PCmover Home to migrate all of your PC apps and files to your Intel-based Mac running VMware Fusion, Parallels, or Bootcamp!

anthonyraynor? This is highly rated software, but you need to check this page as there are some distinct limitations with the home version: http://www.laplink.com/pc...index.html

David Gilmour Personally I find Laplink's licensing terms for this product disagreeable: " .. Licensed per user for non-concurrent use only, not allowing transfer of a license to another owned computer. Online license activation is required with a hardware footprint, and 1 installation per footprint.."  That restriction makes it a rather expensive one trick pony IMHO, even with the generous BDJ discount.

Michael User I attempted to buy this software. Up to the point of entering credit card details there was no discount. It was still priced at 39.95 US $.

Software Guy One word of caution - this particlar version does NOT let you upgrade your entire drive image to a newer version OS.  As T Raynor has suggested, please read the limitations of each version. In this version, only the applications are moved, which is likely what most users want to do when they get a new computer.  Moving the apps is a great time saver.
Also, sometimes after using you do not have a clean OS install on the old machine, which means that you may need to reinstall or repair the OS on the old machine to continue using it.  My suggestion is to image the old computer before you attempt a transfer.  Perhaps the vendor might address this potential issue.

Andy Tolton Andy from Laplink here. In reference to William's comment, that is not 100% correct. PCmover Home does allow you to move from a PC with an older version of Windows to a new PC with a newer version of Windows. For example, you can move ALL of your programs, files and settings from your old XP PC to your new Windows 7 PC. Also, the old PC remains untouched and nothing is removed from it. So from there you can use both PCs in tandem if you want. I do agree with you William when you say to image the old computer first, very important as having a backup of all your data is important for any PC user to protect against unforeseen data loss.  For clarification, the only difference that PCmover Home has from PCmover Professional is that Home does not allow selectivity, meaning ALL programs, files and settings will be moved to the new PC. Enjoy!
