What are people saying about Photo Collage Maker PRO

Peter User Anyone interested in Photo Collage Maker Pro might want to look at the Review of this program done by the Neat Net Tricks Review Panel in August 2014.

Go to http://www.neatnettricks.com/
Then click on "Software Reviews" on the left, then 2014 then go down to the August review

You can see a bio of each of the Reviewers on the Neat Net Tricks site. When the panel takes on one of these projects, each one does their own review independently of the others; there is no collaboration between them. They do not know what the other panel members have done until they have submitted their own review.

Before the Reviews are published, the developer has a chance to respond to anything that the Reviewers have written. The developers' comments are published along with the reviews.

Thank you for the link, but I'm afraid the Neat Net Tricks review you mention is for a different product, the one made by PearlMountain, not by AMS software.

xCurt I cannot find evidence this program has been updated since 2012, it seems they merely update the new homepage design, not the actual program. Can someone correct me, please? The old homepage was (is) http://photocollagemaker.net/

Jun 22 2015 at 2:04am Copy Link

Lesley Knight @ Curt
We've updated our templates collection, so there are now over 350 design templates while there were just around a hundred in the older version. You can preview the design templates here: http://ams-collage.com/pr...s-demo.php

Jester With Windows 10 almost here, will the online activation process allow the program to work on a PC which the program was already activated?

If not, what is the process to get the program activated?

How about a clean Windows 10 install on a PC which the program was already activated?

Jun 24 2015 at 12:12pm Copy Link

Lesley Knight @ Albert
No worries, your key will still be valid and you can use it to re-activate the software on Windows 10.

Michael R. Is it possible to insert a longer text. e.g a letter and let it flow around some graphics?

Jan 23 2018 at 6:22am Copy Link

Lesley Knight @ Michael R.
Sure, you can add as much text as you like. You can even make greeting cards and invitations with a lot of text. Here's a screenshot that shows some invitation templates: http://ams-collage.com/im...plates.png
As for this one:
> let it flow around some graphics
- not quite sure what you mean, I would tell you for sure if I could see an example!

Robert Crombie If I were to create a set of JPGs as a 'How To' tutorial, to send to friends.
Can this program create something that will allow them to view the images in sequence AND be capable of allowing the user to click a BACK button to view the previous image ?

Thanks,
Rob
PS If not, I would appreciate advice (from members) of any program that can create such a (controllable) slide show

Bill Blackledge Hi, is there a practical limit ot the size of background sheet possible? For example, is it possible to create an A1 or A0 sheet @ 300dpi?

Aug 3 2018 at 1:02am Copy Link

Lesley Knight @ Bill Blackledge
It all depends on your computer processing power, combined with the number of photos you use. For example, I'm not sure that an average laptop can handle an A0 layout with three hundreds high-res pictures. Anyway, you can try it out with the free trial version: http://ams-collage.com/download.php

AMS Software - Aug 3 2018 at 1:29am Copy Link

Bill Blackledge Fair comment Lesley. We would be using it on a reasoably powerful desktop PC. From what you are saying there is not a maximum sheet size limitation which is hard-coded into the software - or, at least, A0 would be an option.

Aussie Steve K Well that's a PITA! Tried several times to order this and keep getting this..

"Dear Customer,
We were unable to verify that the information you entered on the order form is valid.

If you have not received notification within 24 hours, please contact our customer service department for assistance.

For reference, your order id is" XXXXXXXXXXXX (number removed by me).

I certainly hope it can be fixed before the deal runs out. Grrrr. Not happy.

Aug 3 2018 at 1:48am Copy Link

Lesley Knight @ Bill Blackledge
Well, no limit is hard-coded when it comes to the paper size, but if A1-A0 are crucial to you, then you should really try it with the free version before you order. We have not tested printing such sizes because up until now, our customers have been home users who don't make anything larger than A3. So I cannot guarantee that A1-A0 will work - after all, the bitmap is huge in this case. So it's better to check it on your PC with the free trial.

Stephen Kreyling I tried to input some numbers in the demo download, on the width it would not take 8.5 inches? It also maxes out at 33 inches wide.

I run a color printer the does 28" x 40".

So, it appears that the software does have some limits.

Please advise.

Stephen

Ed Ward Google Picassa (now discontinued) was capable of producing a collage that (i) automatically resized a (potentially large # of) photos to varying degrees so that they all fit in a designated targte size (e.g., 5" x 8"; 16" x 20"; etc.); (ii) positioned the resized photos together in a collage - all positioned without any rotation, and joined together w/ a margin of 0 - x pixels between photos; and (iii) allowed the user to "republish" and see the photos automatically resized and positioned differently from the previous iteration. Very powerful, disappointed that Google discontinued, haven't found another software package that allows one to do the above. Does Photo Collage Maker Pro have this capability?

Thank you for a great question! Please check out this video: https://youtu.be/K1fRf77jlG4?t=354 - does the Grid collage option look like what you need? Note that you can change the margins, the spacing (6:23) and shuffle the pictures until you get the best layout (6:54).

AMS Software - Jan 31 2019 at 12:18am Copy Link

Jeanie Kiser The features of Photo Collage Maker PRO shown in the video look very useful. I still have a few questions...

1. Is there a way to save a preferred layout as a template?

2. Is there a way to save non-standard page sizes, if desired?

3. Is there a way to adjust, make or upload your own mask, if needed?

I look forward to your response. Thank you.

Jan 31 2019 at 3:37am Copy Link

Ed Ward The Grid collage option doesn't appear to do what Google Picassa was capable of doing. Picassa automatically resizes the photos (some thumbnail size, others normal size, and all points in-between) and places them in (seemingly) random positions so that (collectively) they fill up the target space. I've created collages w/ 100+ photos that fit into a 16" x 20" size. I'm assuming Picassa relies on some sort of algorithm to resize and position all the photos. Finally, you can click and "reset" the collage and the photos are again resized and again (randomly) positioned in the collage. The only drawback I've found is that Picassa didn't allow one to restrict the sizing of selected photos - for example, out of 100+ photos you might wish to have some always appear more prominent (e.g., larger) than others.

Gary User What is the difference between the regular and Pro version?

May 23 2019 at 2:01am Copy Link

Lesley Knight @ Gary User
First of all, it's the number of design templates. There are just about 100 templates in Standard, and over 350 in PRO.
Here are some more things that are only available in PRO:
- multi-page projects
- photo book templates
- photo filter effects
- save own collage templates
- create and save own frames
- add new masks, clipart, and shapes
Hope this answers your question!

Gary User How do I get the pro version? I downloaded the trial version, then entered the purchased license number, but it doesn't appear as the "pro" version.

May 23 2019 at 4:30am Copy Link

Lesley Knight @ Gary User
You need to uninstall the demo first. Then, download the PRO version with the extra templates using the link sent to you by email (it should be sent by PayPro), install and then activate your license. If you need further help with this, can't find the email or the link for example, then you'd better contact our tech support with your order ID number so they can give you the link. Here they are: http://ams-collage.com/support.php

AMS Software - May 23 2019 at 5:44am Copy Link

Gary User I uninstalled the trial, then installed the "pro" version from the download link, but it still only identifies itself as the standard version. What exactly is the difference between the two programs? Can you give me a specific feature or item that'll I find in the pro version only so I can confirm whether I have the correct version?

May 23 2019 at 9:20am Copy Link

Lesley Knight @ Gary User
For example, "Create Photo Book" is only available in PRO: http://prntscr.com/nsh27n
or "Save As Template": http://prntscr.com/nsh2tb
Please note that you shouldn't look for "PRO" in the window heading or anywhere else - it doesn't change depending on the version. It's just the set of features and the set of templates that are different. In Standard, some features are closed, but for you, everything should be open.
