What are people saying about PhotoBuzzer

Harry Brogan Have tried to install this program repeatedly this morning. Cannot get past the registration screen. I did register with the company. Waited for the email. When that did finally arrive the link for the code goes to a HTTP 500 error.

Emailed the company directly. Although the response time was, in fact, fast, the code that was provided did not work either.

Will not be reinstalling this one.

Fantyparts A nightmare installation. After jumping through an impossible number of hoops required to register successfully, the installation apparently failed without any warning or reason given. The end result is that they harvested my email address and I got nothing in return.

I realise that my limited knowledge of Deutsche didn't help, but this looks like a half-baked junior-school project.

Tips:
Use my choice of browser, not yours.
Use the language of the country you're selling to.
Get a proper job.

BearPup I have recently been introduced to Franzis.de, owning PhotoBuzzer, Color Projects, Analog Premium, and HDR Platin programs. Though similar in design, each provides different options. My favorite so far is Color Projects, which allowed me to create a custom profile combining several photo effects as a single button effect.

The programs run well on 64 Bit Win 7 and Win 10 computers. If you like photo editing programs, this developer has some excellent offerings. Disclaimer: I don't work for or have any financial gains from Franzis.de. I'm just a very satisfied user.

Jo Ann Rice Is the registration code sent separately or should it be in this email receipt from BitsDuJour?
I received my receipt for the purchase, but the spot where there "should" be a registration code is empty. There is no registration code on this email anywhere.

Constantin Florea @Jo Ann Rice, Instead of the registration code we have added this phrase:
"You will be able to register/unlock the application while installing it."
because the registration process is integrated in the installer.

You should be able to register the application during the installation process. The application will need access to the Internet so please ensure that your Firewall or any other similar application installed on your computer does not block its access to the Internet.

Joe Douglas I didn't like their forced registration data mining so I will pass. The lack of full Engish translation on their site didn't help either. Previous poster issues indicate it isn't work the hassle and loss of privacy.

You must agree to the following to register:

"I agree with the storage and processing of my personal data. I especially agree to receive newsletters/product information from Franzis Verlag. I can revoke this consent anytime informally by sending an e-mail to widerruf franzis.de or write to Franzis Verlag GmbH, Richard-Reitzner-Allee 2, D-85540 Haar b. München. Michael Zinkan Hi,
Successfully installed on Win7 Ultimate 64-Bit system.
Directions:
Download software from BTJ email you will receive.
Install software (during install, a window appears to take you their site to Pre-register).
In a couple of minutes or so, you will receive an email from Supplier to accept the registration. Click on that link and then it takes you back to their site - click on the big green button in the popup (it's in German, so just click on the big green button).
In a few minutes, you will receive an email from the Supplier with the ID and Key Codes.
Enter them in the window left open during the install process.
Yes, it's a little bit of trouble, but they're a foreign company.

Bill Sech Did download and started the install. Registration process comes up first. I did patiently follow the instructions on the screen and in the emails, and was able to install within 5 minutes. Upon testing 1 photograph with it I think I like this software. The people who run the company seem to be German. However the install screen was in English so I could understand.

John Terdik During the install, click on the Internet button (in the registration widow). This will take you to the Franzis website where you complete the registration for new customers. On this page you MUST "agree with the storage and processing of my personal data" otherwise you will NOT receive the personal user ID and registration code. By agreeing you "especially agree to receive newsletters/product information from Franzis Verlag". It does state that you can opt out but it does not give me a nice warm feeling that they are not going to do something else with my "data" and I DO NOT like being forced down this path. I have decided to opt out of the install.

Jo Ann Rice I've gotten a few emails from a german person "in german" *sighs* of which I had to go have translated on google, and not a single email so far has any kind of registration code in it and I'm stuck in the installation at the point where it asks for the registration code. I've been gone for a few hours and just returned and still no registration code.

I think this registration process is horrible. I understand you "say" you are trying to protect our information, but truly this goes way beyond what is necessary for that.

I would highly suggest you set your site up with a service that does translation services so people can read your site no matter where they are from. As I mentioned in the email that no one bothered to answer my actual questions on, software is a global industry, it's not a local one, so you need to treat your business and website as such and make it globally translated as well.

Bad business and I really don't need this program that bad to jump through 20 hoops to get it lol. Enjoy those of you that actually got the registration code.

Eustace Phenackertiban OK, although the installation/registration process is ridiculously (and unnecessarily) long and involved, I got the software successfully installed. I must admit that the Image Mood Assistant presets and controls, and the random generator, are interesting and fun to play with, and actually produce some really pretty nice results, I have yet to figure out how to "...click once, and the application will generate 1000 versions of your image, each with a different filter."

I have tried every control and menu item in the interface, and the only mode I have found displays the (single) image in the left two-thirds of the program screen, with the Image Mood Assistant in the right third of the screen. There is no "Help" function visible, and clicking "Information" offers a standard "About" dialog and a link to their Web site, and, unless sie sprechen Deutsche, going there is pointless, since the site is written in German, and I saw no union jack or American flag to click for an English version.

Anyway, at this point I'm thinking that there is a language issue, and that the phrase "...click once, and the application will generate 1000 versions of your image, each with a different filter," which has a very specific meaning in English (one single click produces 1000 individual images, presumably simultaneously viewable, perhaps in a scrollable grid), was a mistake in translation. What was actually meant was "Click 1000 times, each click generating a unique random variation on the original, using a different randomly generated filter each time, to produce '...1000 versions of your image, each with a different filter'."

If I am wrong, will someone please reply, explaining to me how to click only once and produce 1000 variations of my image? Otherwise, my review of this program is that it works well, is difficult to understand, and is well worth the download and install, but not to expect it to actually produce the 1000 variations with just one click implied by the description.

Louis H Installation took a total of 5 minutes and 42 seconds. Starting with clicking the executable file, doing the online registration, and starting the program for the first time. (Most of that time was waiting on the emails.)

I agree with Eustace that translation may have been misleading. I have other programs that give me simultaneous views of the image being run through various filters. With this program it is one image at a time. So instead of 1000 different views with one click, it is giving me a different view with 1000 individual clicks.

It is free and it is a little bit fun, but absolutely of no use for the kind of workflow I use for editing images.

I'll keep it, as it can be installed at any time, and I do like some of the company's other programs - so I do not mind getting their email newsletter for possible discounts on some of those in the future. I seriously doubt, however, that I will spend time using this program in the future.

(Like Eustace, IF there is a way to view multiple variations using different filters, in some sort of a comparison preview, I'll reconsider using it for ideas. I don't even need to see 1000 at a time, but at least a dozen or so.)

Louis H @damon.... did you start to install the program and then follow the instructions it gives you?

As others above have stated....

You first need to click on the Internet Button in the Register Screen that comes up when you start the installation.

This will take you the website where you register the program and choose a password.

You then wait for a confirmation email and click on the link to confirm.

Then you wait for the confirmation of your confirmation and it provides you with the info you need to paste into the rest of the Registration screen and then the program will install.

Simple...right? ;-)

Hope this helps.

Daniel Bragg Like Eustace and Louis, i have been able to install, but find myself baffled. The promise on the BitsDuJour site is as follows:

"PhotoBuzzer provides you with 1000 different looks for your image with just one click. That’s right – with PhotoBuzzer, all you need to do is click once, and the application will generate 1000 versions of your image, each with a different filter."

This is the one and only reason why I installed this software - to load an image, and with a single click be able to pan through a thumbnail sheet of 1000 different looks to my image, so I can decide which look suits the subject, so I can decide what to focus on.

I have spent the last 1/2 hour looking for this feature and haven't found it. If it's there, then Constantin Florea can you please tell us where this key feature is buried? If it isn't there, then I will be uninstalling this -- I have other apps that allow me to change saturation, or sharpness, or tint (or, in laymen's terms, "dull/glamourous", "mysterious/soft", and "wintry/summery/cool/angry")

John Silby "PhotoBuzzer provides you with 1000 different looks for your image with just one click. That’s right – with PhotoBuzzer, all you need to do is click once, and the application will generate 1000 versions of your image, each with a different filter."

That sounds good, but all the program gives me is the alternative - "PhotoBuzzer offers an Image Mood Wizard featuring presets tailored to specific moods. Just pick one of the presets and let PhotoBuzzer do its thing". That works well, but I can see no way to access the promised 1000 different looks. The part of the home page that's in English says, "Once clicked on the random generator, PhotoBUZZER will provide you with billions of different styles from yur photo" but where is this "random generator"?

There's no help file, and no explanation as to what several functions do, let alone how to use them. The website is no help because most of it is in German. Clicking on the "English" button takes you to the English version of the http://www.projects-software.com/ home page (one heavy on large graphics and very little else), which has no link to PhotoBuzzer. Clicking the link to the PhotoBuzzer home page within the program itself opens the German version of the page.

Moreover, they've now begun sending me the promotional emails as agreed when I signed up... but in German.

Very disappointed. The software sounds good, but it's no help to me if I can't get it to work the way it's advertised to work and the only information available is in German.

Daniel Bragg To unsubscribe from e-mails, go to the bottom of the promo e-mail and find the phrase "Wenn Sie in Zukunft keine weiteren E-Mails von Franzis wünschen oder sich Ihre E-Mail-Adresse geändert hat, klicken Sie bitte hier." (Google Translate says this is, "If you want in future no further emails from Franzis or your email address has changed, please click here")

"hier" will be underlined, and if you look, it should take you to http://www.al2c.de/alcoho...scribe.jsp

Uncheck all of the options on the page, then click on "Speichern" ("save")

I don't speak a lick of German, except "sprechen sie Englisch?" so I couldn't stop this inflow of German e-mail fast enough...

John Silby @ Daniel Bragg

Thanks for the info! In my case I can kill the disposable email address I used to sign up. I'm just waiting to see if anyone from either Franzis or Bits du Jour responds to the comments here about the apparent incorrect description of the program's abilities.

Louis H While the following - Image Filter Pro 100 - is not all that "user friendly" for accessing your own photos - you have to manually enter the drive you wish to look in - it allows for the kind of viewing that I thought this product, PhotoBuzzer, was offering. (It also allows you to gather images from the Internet - which can be highly frowned upon if you are simply harvesting copyrighted images without permission.) I still use it for getting ideas on how I might want to edit my own images.

You select an image, and then select the filters you want to preview, and then the program gives you thumbnails of all the filters selected.

It always has a discount here, and has been offered occasionally for free. (It is from the software company that is run by the folks here at BDJ.)

http://www.bitsdujour.com.../in=vendor

A final word on PhotoBuzzer. I do like the way many of the Random images look, but it still is a drag on my normal workflow. It would be much more useful to be able to see all thumbnails at a time - or even - like Image Filter Pro - allow me to select the filters I want to preview. Still, thank you to BDJ and the vendor for allowing us to give it a fully licensed view.

Eustace Phenackertiban No, Damon, look again. The Web site does not expect a password you don't have. As part of the registration you are to enter your name, then enter (create) a new password, then confirm that new password, as part of the process of creating an "account," after which you will be told to check your email for the actual registration information (user name and reg. code).

It doesn't expect you to enter an existing password that you don't have, but to create one for your new account. Awkward, counterintuitive, unnecessary, but kinda to be expected in a foreign Web site with different user expectations. Just do it—the program is worth the effort, if you need or want this kind of thing.

John Silby Well, since neither BDJ nor Franzis have deemed our queries worthy of comment I'm giving up. I've uninstalled PhotoBuzzer. It's a shame because it sounded promising.

Daniel and Louis H, I tried Image Filter Pro but the interface is so hard to understand, and I couldn't get the program to work even after I manually entered the folder I wanted to try it on. I gave up on that program too. I notice from comments at the program's website that I'm not the only one who found the interface incomprehensible.

Pi Stachio not only is it disappointing to go through all of this unnecessary contortions with this particular program,, and now getting Third Reich promotional emails for a program that made Win 10 Glitch Out.....

I wonder about the Start Menu X debacle and a few other....

Certainly a poor reflection on the Software Author but also....

in Bits Du Jour who is running and managing the offers....

I'm about to bail....

Louis H Please do, Pi. I, for one, can do without your derogatory comments.

There is a place for voicing concerns and problems with any particular offering here at BDJ, but to debase the conversation by making a Nazi reference, because emails are in German, is going too far. I find your comment both tasteless and without warrant for this environment.

If you are truly all that upset, then by all means bail.

BearPup I write in praise of the application and the developer. This particular program, PhotoBuZZer, I used it to edit and enhance my avatar. Besides the normal touch-ups for sharpness and general lighting, I applied their "Yellow Filter" to the fur surrounding the face. It took all of maybe 30 minutes to make the adjustments - and most of that time was flipping through the large database of editing options.

From a dull snapshot to an enhanced photograph, I love the entire line of Franzis photo editing applications. So much so that I no longer use Photoshop either online or off line.

Regards,
BearPup

Eric Shapiro I had no problem registering the software. The whole process took less than 2 minutes and was all activated after I downloaded and then attempted to install the software, whereupon a small screen appeared telling me what to do next to register it. A button on that small screen caused the next several emails from the developer to appear. The first email from the company simply asked to confirm the email address, then the next email from the company contained the information I needed to register the software. That's it. Hope this helps those of you who seem to be having problems registering this.

Colin User After following the bizarre registration process, I have started the software and just like Stephen Warkentien I expected to see multiple images and to be able to quickly choose one. Instead, all I have is a load of sliders labelled with with childish icons "ambiguous", "glamorous", "mysterious", "angry" etc. These mean nothing to me!

I have other image processing programs with sliders that allow me to manually adjust colour, lighting, etc. Where is the advantage in Photo BUZZER? This program, instead of saving me time, has cost me a lot of time today. Yes it's free, and I appreciate that, but I don't appreciate software that doesn't perform as advertised and which wastes my time. Perhaps the author could confirm if his program does indeed show multiple images side-by-side, and if so, how to access that feature?

And I see our comments are being screened because of "some bad apples comments last time".

Those aren't bad apples - they are people with legitmate complaints.

CFGuy To Franzis Verlag GmbH (Software Creator) - {software] it may be used indefinitely; transfer of a license to another owned computer is not allowed; unlimited installations per [software activation] footprint; you [software user] can install/register the software at any time; license can be used for Commercial and Personal use; support is provided for the lifetime of the product. All extremely generous components for the EULA of a software giveaway offer (and, in my experience, the generosity of these components for a giveaway software is becoming more and more difficult to find). As a software consumer, I commend you for your generosity, which in turn, I believe creates customer "good will" and loyalty. Personally, you now have a customer in me, as I have examined your discounted simultaneous promotions, find them very reasonable, and am purchasing 2 of them (the third is for a program that I do currently own, having purchased it here on a previous BDJ offer). Thanks again for your generosity here on BDJ! -Cfguy

Norm Sash Question for those who are users of this software... Does it in fact generate a 1000 different views of the same image on 'one-click' that I can just scan through and view? Or do I apply various one-click filters one at a time to see what the effect is?

Steve Kenny "PhotoBuzzer provides you with 1000 different looks for your image with just one click. That’s right – with PhotoBuzzer, all you need to do is click once, and the application will generate 1000 versions of your image, each with a different filter. So instead of spending your time cycling through filters, you can see all of the results at once, making it easier to compare filters and pick the ones you love".

Where is this one click button? It seems NOT TO EXIST!
Why say you can do this when, plainly, you can not?
Do we have to assume this is click/download bait?

Like others I can apply filters from other software..this is NO easier and saves NO time whatsoever.
