What are people saying about Portable Offline Browser

fran harter Hi,

Does this work okay on a portable USB hard drive?
[aka pocket drive]?

The reason I ask is that a 1, 2, 4, or even 8GB jumpdrive could fill up quickly, depending on the website you are offline browsing.

Seems a pocket drive [like a 160gig or 320 gig] would be better

fran harter Never mind my previous question.

It appears that a USB "hard drive" will work okay with this.
[in addition to a USB "jump drive"]

I must have missed this the first time through the
"product description" while perusing the metaproducts website.

Questions:

1. Does the portable edition save files only to the external, USB device that the application itself resides on?

2. Or can it save files to the computer you are running the Offline Explorer application from?

3. Or to a second, external USB device?

Granted, the whole concept of the "portable edition" would be to save it to a "portable device". But I am just wondering if a project was a large one, if it can be directed to be saved onto the PC you ware running this program from.Or a second USB external [portable] device.

Portable Offline Browser is a special Offline Explorer Pro version.

It can be installed to a Flash/USB drive and run directly from it. You can plug the drive with the installed Portable Offline Browser into any Windows system and use it with no need to adjust settings. All your Projects and downloaded files will be there! And when you unplug, none of your personal data is left behind.

Oleg Chernavin 1. Both. By default, ity saves to the same device it runs from. However you may use the Folder Properties dialog to specify an alternative location.

The only problem is that the new location will not be portable and when you plug this USB drive with POB installation to another computer, it should be checked if the location is correct.

2. Yes, you can specify any location alternatively.

3. Sure.

Bob S Can Offline Browser be used to extract links to website that are lised on a webpage? For example, I would like to extract links that appear in a blogroll, but don't have an efficient way of doing this. Can you point me to this feature or a link that describes how this would be done?

Thank you.

Alexander Bednyakov It is its main job - you supply a Web page address to Portable Offline Browser and it loads it, extracts links and follows them.
