Jonathan Keener Are there any plans for a portable version of PowerArchiver that could be ran on multiple machines via USB stick?
Jun 10 2009 at 2:17am Copy Link

Drazen Dodig Jonathan,

yes there are plans, but it is to be done after PA 2010 is officially released. In general I reccomend that you purchase if it fits your needs right now and not because future features.

A B On your website, the PRO version does not come with free lifetime updates - did I get you right that you will change that? (Maybe only for this deal for bitsdujour?)

Drazen Dodig Sure it does, as long as you are not an business purchasing over 5 licenses, you get lifetime upgrades license.

Business's purchasing 5 license or more, get next 2 major versions for free.

Peter pereh Does the 'explorer integration' also work with Directory Opus without problems?
Nov 26 2009 at 5:56am Copy Link
0
Drazen Dodig You need to check it out - download trial version and see if it works with software you want it to work with.

I would guess it works fine if you run 32bit version of Windows, and for 64bit version of Windows, PA installs 64bit shell extensions, so your 3rd party file manager needs to be 64bit to run 64bit shell extensions. If you run 32bit explorer replacement in 64bit Windows, then it wont show 64bit shell extensions.

I hope i did not overcomplicate the explanation ;-).
ConeXware, Inc - Nov 26 2009 at 6:08am Copy Link
0
S B Thank you for the accurate explanation.

I think the main part of DOpus can be 64bit.

I've installed the 64-bit version (in Win 7 x64) and the taskbar shows Dopus.exe and one helper are 64bit and one helper is 32bits.
Nov 27 2009 at 5:04pm Copy Link
0
Drazen Dodig Then you should be fine, but try trial version regardless... if you purchase it in few days, you only need to add registration code you got and it will be registered.

J L I am a WinRAR's registered user, but because of your lifetime upgrade promotion I am considering buying a PowerArchiver license.
But after few minutes of testing I found some strange behaviours.
1. I am a Windows 2000 user but I had already installed gdiplus.dll on my system (C:\WINNT\system32\gdiplus.dll) but PowerArchiver ask for downloading and installing it.
2. The "Associate PowerArchiver with recommended formats" does not have a selection list. This list appears on the first PowerArchiver launch and only if the "Show Configuration options for first installations" is checked. The problem is that if the first option is selected then the WinRAR rar file association and others are lost.
3. The "compress in." section of the right click context menu of files/folders displays all the previously opened compressed files, even the not supported formats. (rar files are possible targets too). If a rar compressed file is selected then you could end losing it because no error message is displayed. (Messages: * already exists. Update existing file / Overwrite *)
4. You cannot add new columns to the details view of compresses files with the right click button (but yes in normal folders), you have to go to Options/Configuration/View to do it. PowerArchiver allow you to short contest using not displayed columns.
5. When you are using PowerArchiver, you have to open a compressed file to be able to see its properties, extract its context,. It is quite annoying and even more when the compressed file is very big. It would be better to allow it, just by selecting the compressed file on PowerArchiver interface.

Request (maybe some of them are impossible):
1. Be able to look inside archives like folders on Windows explorer and other file managers (xplorer²,.). Similar to the zip files on Windows XP. CompreXX or Alpha ZIP (this one has a better integration) can achieve what I have exposed.
2. Be able to use ifilters to display file context.
3. Be able to display file content in full screen mode.
4. Implement RAR compression for WinRAR users by the use of WinRAR command line.

I will test it longer because it has lots of options and I have not read all the manual yet.

Drazen Dodig JL,

for wishlist, please visit our forums at:
http://www.powerarchiver.com/forums

You can also email me at drazenconexware.com for more detailed answers to all of the questions here (answering it all is few pages of text). But in any case, if you decide to purchase PowerArchiver in next few days, then make sure you like what you see right now, and not the promise of future features ;-). We probably issue the most updates out of all competing software but again when you are purchasing anything, make sure you like what is there, right now. So just copy and paste this into email so i can respond properly. Most of the things on the list are on our list as well, although i dont think we will be able to do any of those requests. For instance we cant legaly implement RAR format for compression, however PA2010 has optimized unrar so it extracts files even faster than WR itself (up to 30%). Thanks!

A J Rimmer Is it possible to change the associated file icons?
I know the wording on the icon is different i.e. zip, rar etc but sometimes they are very difficult to read if you've got archives of different types in the same folder.

Michael R On the BuyNow-page there is offered also a international-version, which is said to be less expensive. Beside the additional language is there any difference between these versions? If not, why is the international-one cheaper, while it has more (additional languages)?

Michael R Oh, I see. It's not as said on that page $16,29 (recalculated in EUR, which would be about _11), but _16,29 (what is about $24). Right?
Dec 1 2009 at 4:32pm Copy Link
0
Drazen Dodig Yes, that is correct - i think bitsdejour can show only USD price, which is why EUR is shown as that. I have hoped they would write it in the comment section so there would be no confusion, in any case, it is shown properly on our site and discount is the same 50% on both MSRP prices.
ConeXware, Inc - Dec 1 2009 at 9:43pm Copy Link

J L The international link discount posted in the old comments ( http://tinyurl.com/n6am6v ) worked and works before the promotion.

The discount is not 50% but 49%.

I found some more bugs that I will post one of this days on the PowerArchiver forum.

O I I need to add/edit some files inside epub (zip) files without to decompress them. Epub format requires that mimetype file should be always first in the zip table without compression.

So if I add some files inside the epub/zip file and edit some others can I arrange (or maintain the structure) in the zip file trough Power Archiver?

DrTeeth This is not only the best compression utility there is, but the developers are very responsive to suggestions. I have managed to get several of my own implemented. When there are issues, the response has been quick, helpful and spot on.

Jon Koerner One nice thing about this offer is that the vendor has discounted pricing for multiple-PC licenses, and the Bits du Jour 49% off sale pricing applies to that. -- e.g. The Regular Price for the 1-PC license is $34.50, but the Regular pricing for 2-9 licenses is $25.00 per computer.

So on the order form, if you change the quantity to 5, for example (you only get the lifetime free upgrades for purchases of 5 or fewer licenses), then the sale price becomes 5 x $25 = $125 - 49% = $63.75. Thus, you are getting the licences for $12.75 per computer. That's nice, for people with multiple computers.

Since you already own Pro version, not sure how great this offer is to you. If you want, you can upgrade though your account to Toolbox with BD IS for the same price. You can compare the features here: http://www.powerarchiver....r-toolbox/ and click on Compare. BD IS is not included in this offer as we are not allowed to advertise price lower than official BD IS price.

SoftCollector Dear Drazen,

1. This comes with lifetime upgrades, correct?
2. Also: I do not need Bitdefender on my laptop, but I may opt to install it on another computer. Are the licenses separate for Toolbox and Bitdeffender, that is, can the first be installed on computer A and the second on computer B?

Kind regards,
SC

Mike B Just a note to say that PowerArchiver is a very nice piece of software with outstanding support.

Well worth the discounted price.
Sep 6 2011 at 9:08am Copy Link

Drazen Dodig SoftCollector - if you purchase Toolbox with BitDefender from our store upgrade, you get 1 year of licensing for BD IS and lifetime for rest of the PA Toolbox. Again this is for purchasing upgrade and not this specific Bitsdujour deal.

And yes, you can install it separately to whatever computer you want. You get "normal" license of BD IS and you can use their latest release as well. It is same as if you purchased it on their site when it comes to your rights.

Adrian Williams This has been my default program for compressed files for a few years. Nice features like virtual drive and buring discs too. This saves having to have other software like virtual CD. The only feature I miss is the ability to extract partial rar files. Winrar can do this but powerarchiver can't, no matter how much faster PA is. Apart from that, an impressive array of compression tools. I just got a winzip with the photoshop photo X3 promotion and was surprised at how few features were in that compared to PA. One final +ve comment. PA can 'queue' so you can select a large number of compressed files and decompress them by a single click, the software queues them all up and does each one in turn thereby avoiding stressing out the hard drive as it seeks the files. Good software at a very good price. Buy it.

There was an notice in original Bitsdujour review but they have updated the review with new text (as old one was from version 2010) and forgot to include the notice. We have alerted them to this and I am sure it will be added shortly as Roger and the crew are very professional. Thanks!

Michael R. I'm looking for a tool, with which I could do some file-operations directly inside the .ISO image, e.g. add some files or even more important remove some files (with the expectation that the .ISO-image's size will be reduced). Is this possible with your Toolbox-version (or does it 'just' mount?

In the former days of Win95 there was a tool (PTS ...) which embedded .zip-files directly into the OS. When clicking on it, it worked as any other directory and the user could do all the things he could do with ordinary directories. Add files, remove files, ... Internally it was all handled by this tool and done to the .zip-file itself. As far as I know, there is nothing like that available for the current window-versions. You do not have any plans to let PA do something like these, do you?

As a former (and happy) customer of PA Pro (in a former BDJ-auction) I am thinking about buying the Toolbox version too. Would it be possible to transfer the rights of my former Pro version to another person somewhen after the Toolbox-buy?

Mili - ConexWare Hi Michael,

With your previous PA PRO purchase, there really is little need to upgrade to Toolbox as you already probably have a free upgrade(with your lifetime free upgrades based on previous purchase) on the PRO Version of 2011 which gives you all the same features(minus the BD).
To get your free upgrade, all you need to do is log into your account and retrieve the new registration code. If you need help with that, just email via support at http://www.powerarchiver.com/support and we'll get you sorted.

With the ISO format, you can extract the contents of it, burn it as ISO or mount it as a Virtual Drive, as the format allows.
What you could do is use PowerArchgiver to quickly extract the files, edit your files and use PowerArchvier to quickly compress the edited files into a new ISO file.

Lupke Brother @ Drazen Dodig,

Hi Drazen.

1. I have PA 2010 pro, but this is the Ashampoo version (11.71.04 (12/2010). This version does not have lifetime upgrades, am I right? I never get updates for this version.
2. I know I can install it on both my laptop and desktop as a single user. But can I use them both at the sime time, i.e. when I'm syncing between my desktop and laptop? Or is this not allowed?
Feb 6 2012 at 4:36am Copy Link

Drazen Dodig 1. Yes, there is no lifetime updates there (for that specific vendor/offer). But if you email support, they will give you special discount to upgrade to lifetime version (very affordable).
2. Yes, per user licensing means you can use it like you wish. Most important is that 2 different users are not using it. It works on honor basis, no checking.

Sputnik Hi !

As BitDefender is not included in this deal due to licensing restrictions what will happen with the future upgrades ?

On PowerArchiver website there seems to be no download link specific to the Pro version or to the Toolbox version, but only to the Standard version.

Do we receive the download link through an email ?

Will we receive such a download link to all future upgrades through emails, linking to a Toolbox version which will never include BitDefender ?

My concern is not about BitDefender itself, which I don't really need anyway, but about the fact that I will really get all the future upgrades to the Toolbox version.

Thank you for your answers.

Thank you for your comment, because I would maybe have missed this thing that on PowerArchiver website we are obliged to make a choice between the english and the international versions when it comes the time to buy...

I didn't noticed this before you mentioned it.

@ Drazen Dodig

Could you tell us why you sell separately the english and the international versions and also why is the international version cheaper than the english one on your website. Is that because the international version is somehow a truncated version of the english version ?

Also, and this is important, you just wrote that the price of this international version would be discounted by the same 65%, which will give 12.23 euros. But 12.23 euros actually gives 16.20 USD with the actual conversion rates, which is higher than the actual 13.98 USD for the english version.

Could you tell us what will be the real price in USD, please, for this international version ?
Feb 7 2012 at 12:13pm Copy Link
0
Drazen Dodig Hi Robert,

International version is priced in Euros and charged in Euros, because we are half European company and half of our costs as well as the cost of supporting translations are in Euros. As to the pricing, it is same as on our website - for instance, it is 34.95 Euros for Int, $39.95 USD. Only difference is in translations - one is English-Only and another one has 20+ translations. There are no functionality differences and they all get updates at the same time.

Bits du Jour will actually show you approximate USD price once you click on buy, but keep in mind you are actually being charged in Euros, because 95% of users buying International are from Europe, and it is a lot easier and simpler for them to buy in Euros, then for their banks to do conversions (sometimes bank charges for it).

There is absolutely no reason to buy International if you are going to be using English. But it does help support our in-house German support and translations for instance.

Sputnik @ Drazen Dodig

Thank you for your answers.

I will certainly buy the international version (I'm from Montreal and french speaking) because it contains the french language (with the help file in french) but also the english one.

As "Frank W", I usually prefer the english version because the help file is usually only in english and it becomes complicated to get the correct information in an english help file when the software interface is in another language... Also, a problem which occurs often with the softwares basically created in a certain language and thereafter translated to another one is that there will be some little graphical problems where the words of the translated language take more place than the words of the original language. So sometimes, not always, I will work with an english version of a software even if there is a french version of it.

Finally, could you answer these questions :

1-Independently from the currency, will the international version be sold at the same price or less than the english version ?

2-Will we have the choice to choose the currency when will come the time to buy ?

Thank you

Drazen Dodig Hi Robert,

Now i understand. Well it will be €12.23 (-65% from €34.95), so when you turn it into USD, it is a bit more expensive than English-only. If you use credit card payment, then payment is in Euros. BUT, if you select Paypal, I believe you will be charged in USD, as Paypal actually processes in several currencies. Most other companies just show you pricing in different currency but with them, they actually charge in several different currencies, so it should be overall better solution.

As to the translations, I understand the problems. It is not simple for us either - we have 20+ right now, and as you can imagine they all need varied space for the language, so we always have to balance, because if we just put extra wide button to accommodate xx language then yy language looks weird if same text is very short :-). Before we had separate installers for same language, but that meant betas were only in English and German (as it took a day or two to create and test 40+ different installers), but now we have one unified International installer so updates are at exactly the same time. It is really an constant work for us but it pays off as half of our sales are from Europe these days.

I hope I helped :-). Thank you!

Franck W. Thanks Drazen and Robert for all the valuable information your talk revealed.
I'll buy the International version when BDJ offer is on, because French version is really nicely done (except a much too small button in the (pretty annoying) nag screen !)

By the way Drazen, I had a little fun with a tinyurl I found here at BDJ in JL post from1st december 2009
In an untiny form, it goes to your shop with the 65% rebate applied to PA2009.
But messing a little with the GET parameters, I can end with PA Toolbox International + BitDefender IS 2012 for the amazing price of 15,73€ !!! (the product ID 51 isn't difficult to find and needn't actually any messing up...)

Obviously I won't publish to url here (but I can by email), but I'd rather tell you, because if someone with no virtue find the trick, you may end up with bad surprises...

Thanks for your very generous BDJ offer !

Drazen Dodig Thanks Franck - it is no biggie, something like that has been doable forever but nobody actually does it :-).

As to the portable, yes, we definitively need to do it... There is always something new for us to do, so keep delaying it as nobody is pushing us too hard on it :-). Do you find portable version useful? I bet it would be useful to have 5 tools in one app, portable :-).

Drazen Dodig As to the nag screens, imagine living in utopia, where everyone pays on honor basis... like newspapers in the states. No nag screen then! Everyone gives as much as they can and we would all be happy in that perfect world. Unfortunately until then, there will be nag screens as sales drop sharply without them, even for software as much developed and lifetime licensed as ours. Sorry for the derail :-)

Franck W. Usually, portable is something I like and seldom use (most of the time, I'm using my personal computer with my programs well installed).

But how many times did it happen that I wanted to open a rar archive from my usb key in a computer that has no other archive capabilities than windows-zip-embedded ones?
I then wished I had a portable winrar (which is the solution I'll use until the BDJ day !)

So, yes, definetely, in PA case, I vouch for the portable version... (at least for the archive features... virtual drive/burn features for example maybe not) for whenever you have time to code it !!!

Sputnik @ Drazen

When I sent my last comment I realized that I made a mistake concerning the price of the international version.

I just realized at this moment that I thought that the prices indicated on your website for the english and for the international versions were both of them given in USD : I never saw that the price for the english version was in USD and that of the international version in Euro.

That is why I had a little difficulty to understand what you answered to me.

The slight difference it does to what I thought the price would be for the international version doesn't change anything to the fact that it is still a good bargain for both versions and everybody who thinks he will maybe have the need in the future for this kind of software should not hesitate and buy it, otherwise he will regret it when the sale will be over.

What great product it seems to be after a short analysis...

Joe Mira I too bought the "Ashampoo" version. I am feeling duped because in their email they DO NOT say lifetime upgrades are not included.

What they say is that "this is amazing value as normal price is $34.95!" which, if you check the PowerArchiver website is the price for the version that INCLUDES lifetime upgrades. This is clearly misleading - I did not believe Ashampoo were so deceptive.

I hope you follow up with them and that this point is clarified in their future email offers (should you continue to do business with them).

Guess I will be emailing support re special discount to upgrade to lifetime version.

Colin McAllister Hi. I am pleased to see you can preview inside archives, but I am guessing it is a "single-image" preview. So, I have a question for you.

I had an archive program several years ago that allowed for slide shows to be made from archived images (it also loaded the slide show into RAM, which I thought was very sensible - very fast).

The advantage of a slide show mode is that it allows me to search an archive of images like this:

1.jpg, image2.jpg...image200.jpg, image201.jpg

and I can more easily find the image(s) I am looking for. Will you be adding slide show mode at any time in the future? Thanks.

Drazen Dodig Colin,

If you use something like Irfanview, and select 10 files in PowerArchiver zip archive, click enter to open them, it will extract them to same temp folder, and you will be able to start slideshow in Irfan view... once you exit PA, it will also delete those temp files automatically.

I think thats a lot nicer solution than us doing imageviewer :-). Right now we are concentrating heavily on our own next generation format, so I am not sure if such feature would make it soon.

We do a lot of releases every year, and we add tons of features every time, but if you decide to purchase PowerArchiver today, buy it for the features it has today. Better safe than sorry :-).

Mark K Drazen,

I'm really confused at how you arrived at the $39.95 retail price of today's offer. The order form for today's deal has the price at $39.95 less the discount. But the bottom of the order form lists all kinds of pricing for multiple licenses, both with and without the Outlook plugin. None of those prices start at $39.95.

Does today's deal include the Outlook Plugin?

My confusion is further amplified by your website, which FYI lists 2 different prices for the PowerArchiver 2011 Toolbox with BitDefender?

http://www.powerarchiver....erarchiver - $49.95
http://www.powerarchiver.com - $29.95

For me, this is too much information where none of the pricing lines up.

Our standard web shop template shows those with multivolume pricing as thats what our business users buy at higher volumes. Toolbox is not shown there because we dont offer it with multivolume discounts for large business clients.

I own one license of the pro edition.
Based on what we can see on your website there are clearly some differences between the pro and the toolbox editions so I downloaded the trial and installed it but I cannot see any differences.

Is the edition we can download from your website just the pro?
If so, how can I test the toolbox edition features before buying?

Thanks.
Feb 9 2012 at 11:33am Copy Link

Drazen Dodig You can see differences on the website the best - trial gives you all of the features (well most of them), for 30 days. Main differences between Professional and Toolbox are Burner, Virtual Drive and Secure FTP. PA 2011 Pro is tailored for companies who dont need such features vs Toolbox that is meant for power users.

However if you purchased PA 2010 Pro, then either you should have free upgrade to PA 2011 Toolbox (2010 Pro users got free upgrade to Toolbox, except for BD) OR if you purchased via some special deal with no lifetime upgrades, you can get lower price to get lifetime updates for toolbox by contacting our support. Either way, we get you covered :-).

Steven Avery Hi,

Yes, Donationcoder folks like the program. Vibrant support forum. So if you use even one feature helpfully one time (eg. ISO-DVD.) you are already ahead, and may you have many long healthy years after that.

In my case I sometimes tried to place certain isos in the cloud, and ended up combining this and that, and then forgetting what I remembered. It seems that the PowerArchiver Tools can always give you a starting point, at least, for a number of actions. At times you may break out to a dedicated program, but only when needed for features. The support forum is a big, big plus, to share ideas and helps.

This promotion discount is overstated as you can purchase PowerArchiver 2015 Toolbox from the developer's web site for $39.95, the only difference being 3 years versus 1 year of premium support. So just a 37% discount (even the ist price is only $49.95 on the developers web site).

Check it out.

Mili - ConexWare Hello,

MSRP for PowerArchiver 2015 Toolbox is $49.50
MSRP for 3yrs of the Select plan is about $40.91
Totaling to 90.41, MSRP

The prices refer to MSRP prices of PowerArchiver and do not include special discounts run by Conexware for PowerArchiver. Therefore, the advertised price reflects the MSRP value of PowerArchiver and Select plan.

Apologies for any confusion. Thanks!

Drazen Dodig Hello Danny, PowerArchiver comes with free upgrades forever for users with 5 licenses and less, who we consider home users... business users (over 5 licenses) get 3 years of upgrades with this deal. Thank you!

_*_ I own this software (going on 2 years now) and it has been very beneficial. It is great to install zip files from and the software simply works as stated. I never had any need to use the premium support so I cannot speak to this point.

Well worth the cost as it is a stable program and comes with lifetime upgrades.

You would be better off using a tool that takes a DRIVE IMAGE
for disk backup. The final disk backup file isn't terribly big anyway.
I was quite suprised by how small it is when compared to the amount of hard drive space used.
.
This FREE software does not need any registration. Enjoy!!

Cary Adams Quoting from above,.. "With PowerArchiver 2016 Toolbox, you’ll be able to create and unpack compression packages using ZIP, ZIPX, RAR, ISO, and over 50 other formats, "

Yet the developer website says nothing about creating RAR compressed files, only extracting.

So what is it? Does this offer include RAR creation?

CodeDog Cary, when creating a new Archive, RAR is definitely one of the options...

Drazen Dodig Hello Cary,

PowerArchiver can create RAR files only through use of installed WinRar on your system.

Here is the list of formats supported:

Read and extract support for: RAR, ISO, ARJ, ACE, MSI, NSIS, CHM plus ARC, WST, WAL, EAR, WAR, QWK, PK3, REP, 001,, BIN, IMG, NRG, NCO, XPI, CBR, CBZ, XZ, DEB, IPK, DMG, XAR, HFS, NTFS, FAT, VHD, MBR, CB7, DMG, RPM, CPIO, VHD, XAR, LZMA, SquashFS, CramFS, ZOO.

Full list list of features include everything from PA 2016 Standard and Professional:

Cary Adams @Drazen. Then CodeDog is mistaken. You cannot create a RAR archive unless you own WinRAR separately. However RAR extraction is supported.

Thanks for the clarification. Looks like an interesting offer as lifetime upgrades are included.

Drazen Dodig Cary, I am sure CodeDog tried to be super helpful and checked his options in his PA installation to give you best possible answer and since he has WR installed, it automatically offers RAR compression as an option. It does not behave any differently than any other format option.

Thanks CodeDog and Nelson for your kind words, PowerArchiver is still our work of passion after 17 years, so it is always nice to hear nice comments!

Adam P Back in December 2013 I got the PowerArchiver Select for PowerArchiver Toolbox English - 60 months. So after the 5 years,do I still get free updates for the PowerArchiver Toolbox after that?

smaragdus I purchased PowerArchiver in November 2015 but I installed it today and I saw that the so called PowerArchiver Select is valid for 12 months. What does this mean? That the support will expire in 12 months? Or that my registration for PowerArchiver will expire too? More, PowerArchiver 2016 didn't accept my license key for PowerArchiver 2015 so I had to install PowerArchiver 2015 (15.04.03).

Mili - ConexWare Hello smaragdus,

Select plan is our Premium Support and Maintenance plan which allows for Online Registration that keeps PowerArchiver registered during major and minor updates.
Also, it allows upload and retrieval of PowerArchiver settings, amongst other advantages.

The Select plan is included for one year while your license is lifetime. Once your Select plan expires, your license will stay active.
Major upgrades, such as from 2015 to 2016 require a new registration code which you can retrieve from the Free Upgrades section of your account at www.conexware.com/shop

Please let us know at support if we can be of further assistance.

Thanks!

Steven Aves I'm surprised I've not heard of this program before. I downloaded the trial version but doubt I'll have time to really test it. From reading the features list, two features are ones I currently use other software for, my question to the program fans:

Question 1: Do you find P.A. more convenient than Secure Zip or the built in archive within File Explorer? I use either the built in ability in FreeCommander (http://freecommander.com) most every day. For encrypted zip files, I use Secure Zip.

Question 2: Backup; Is P.A. fast and easy to setup for unattended backups? I’ve been using TK8 Backup I got here on Bitsdujour. Works pretty well and verifies the files within the archive.

Robert Crombie Can it allow me to send EXE's in a compressed file that wont get blocked by gmail ?

I write VB6 programs for family and friends, and the bane of my life is gmail blocking attachments.
I just recently worked out how to use encrypted 7z file (with file names encrypted as well), and rename the self extracting exe to say .RemoveMe
Can your program make that task easier ?

Thanks,
Rob

MojoMan Hi,

I purchased this promo last year and just the other day, while reinstalling Windows and some of my software I tried installing the 2018 version and it would't accept the 2017 key (despite the 3 year update option). Do I need to go back and dig for an older copy of the program and install it and then run updates ? I just assumed that the key would work for 3 years. Please advise.

BTW - Great prog for anyone interested. I use it all the time.

Mili - ConexWare @geo User:
the 3yr plan will include all major and minor upgrades and updates during the 3 yr period. Once the 3yr plan expires, the license will stay active but upgrades/updates will not be available.
The Lifetime plan provides an unlimited license that does not expire, all future upgrades/updates are included to major and minor versions of PowerArchiver.

Hope that helps, please let us know if we can answer any further questions.
