Ulrich Why was this manifested to be run as administrator by default? This definitely should be optional, like maybe starting a new session as admin with a button on the toolbar.
This program should be digitally signed, or it should work as invoker. Getting a UAC warning about an unknown publisher at each start does not inspire confidence.
Application setting files like PowerCmd.ini, perspective, and session should be saved in AppData, not in the program folder. It has been this way since Windows 98.
I tried to like this as I use cmd.exe a lot, but the product needs polishing.

Doug Atkinson @Ulrich Peters, if the data were not saved in the program files folder, then the program would not be portable. While they could offer two versions, that just complicates things.

Stefan Weber @Max Murkel, don't worry, Avira Antivirus Premium blocks a lot of sites, good one and bad one. I may tell you, just ignore it and put the downloadsite onto the whitelist.

Avi S Hi everyone. I purchased Powercmd today based on the feature set advertised here. The product installed smoothly and works well.
Indeed, I was very pleased another feature, to my mind the best feature yet: full unicode support for filenames containing non-latin characters. I've never managed to get such filenames work correctly in the standard Windows dosbox (even with the /u setting). With powercmd, I've found that not only are the directory listings displayed correctly, but additionally I can enter any unicode character on the command line (using my installed windows keyboards), and I can effectively access my files and switch directories via my unicode inputs.
Five stars for powercmd!

Avi S More details, and some caveats, on the unicode support:
1] The autocomplete does not work automatically with non-latin characters. For instance, if I type an "i", I get a popup with all of the names of files in the directory, starting with those which start with "i". On the other hand, if I type, say, the Hebrew letter "tav", I do not get a popup with the files that start with tav, nor does one pop up when I press the "tab" key. (I should note, though, that if I just hit "tab" without typing any characters, I do get a list of all filenames, including the non-latin ones, which can be effectively selected and used).
2] Just as one can run a "dir" with a letter plus wildcard (e.g. "dir a*", one can do the same with a non-latin character.
3] On the other hand, although one can do a "cd" with a letter plus star (e.g. "cd a*"), one cannot do so with a non-latin character. To switch directories to non-latin-character-named directories, the entire directory must be spelled out.

Overall, I'm still thrilled about the extent of the unicode support in this product - I've never seen any utility that even comes close to this on the Windows platform - but I would be interested in hearing from PowerCmd as to whether it would be possible to address the issues I've noted above.
