Chris In case any of you want to join their subscription, they are offering it for 80% off as well on their site for $30.00 instead of $149.00. That means you get all of these fonts plus all of their new fonts that they make in the future, I purchased that.

Jan-Christoph Ihrens It's called "subscription", but if I understand it correctly, it's nevertheless a one-time fee, isn't it? I couldn't find any information about renewals.

Jason Hogrefe Sorry for any confusion with the term "subscription". It is a one time fee and you will then be subscribed to receive all future updates to Premium Fonts. If you don't purchase the subscription then you would need to pay again for any new fonts added in the future, if you want them.

Jan-Christoph Ihrens I thought so, but I wanted to make sure.

Peter Dr The only problem with using fonts that are on my computer, but not om the computer of the recipient -- the recipient iw unable to reproduce that font when s/he opens the file. For example, if I send a Word letter with the Haranugt font printing my signature, the recipeint's computer will produce the font in one of the defaults on his/her Word program. Apart from printing it to a pdf file, is there any way around this?

Apart from having him/her take up this offer... ;)

Chris @ Peter Dr ~ Fonts are used in graphic programs for the most part, to create your own works. If you need to send something you made in Word, couldn't you take a screenshot of it and send that instead?
Sep 13 2014 at 3:45pm Copy Link

Jason Hogrefe You can create an image of your signature in Outlook following these guidelines:

http://office.microsoft.c...24650.aspx

http://email.about.com/od...nature.htm

In Word, PowerPoint, etc. you can usually choose a setting to embed the fonts you use in the file. This will create a slightly larger file size, but the fonts will be viewable as they should be on the other person's computer.

Gregg Holbert Save as Adobe PDF also is a great option - as long as the person you are sending/sharing with does not need to edit the source document. The PDF format can/will embed unique fonts to maintain your design.

B Josephs @ Peter Dr
In Word options, save options, select the "Embed fonts in file" option. I'm not sure about this, but I think your are allowed to embed commercial fonts as read-only. So your sig will be fine until someone messes with it.

franp User Hi,
What do you mean by "NEW! Added Webfonts versions" ? What is the license for web use ?
Sep 8 2016 at 2:08am Copy Link
0
Jason Hogrefe We now have webfonts versions for the included fonts, so if you use webfonts in your work this will come in handy. The only restriction we really have with using our webfonts is you do not make them available for public use (where anyone can get the font information to use freely themselves). Let me know if you need further clarification.

Thanks!

Myrna Larson The link to your website takes me to MacAppWare. I don't find any link to Windows software. I want to see the names of the included fonts, and confirmation that there is a Windows version available.

Jason Hogrefe MacAppware is just our main website where we sell our fonts and other applications. All of our font collections are delivered in a zip folder (no apps requiring Mac or Windows) and are in OpenType font format so they can be used on any Windows or Mac computer. So, yes, these all work on Windows. You can find font previews here:

Myrna Larson I clicked the 'Download Trial' link above. I got not a trial version of the collection and got this file:Faranvale_FreeFont_128bitTechnologies.zip. It has a single font, not a trial version of the package.

I'm also confused about the package. Above it says 160 font families and 2018 fonts. The FEATURES tab says (as does the email I received)"

"Premium Fonts rejuvenates your creative projects with 147 original font families and a total of 1,841 fonts".

So which is it? Where can I find a list of the font families included. I already have a package from 128bit Technologies (1000 Opentype fonts). I want to know if I already HAVE the fonts in this package.

Jason Hogrefe Hi Myrna,

Sorry for any confusion! Since this is a font collection the trial was set up a different way to allow you to download one single font from the collection to use completely free (free commercial use license on up to a single computer). There really is no way to allow you to use all the fonts for a trial period without actually giving you all the fonts without paying for them.

Bits du Jour ran a promotion on Premium Fonts a while back, and at this time the collection only had 147 font families and 1,841 total fonts. Since then we have added more fonts (160 total font families and 2,018 total fonts), as well as Webfont versions and a PDF sample book. This is what you will get in today's promotion.

All fonts in our collections are different from other collections we have (no overlap)! So, if you purchased 1000 OpenType Fonts before, then the Premium Fonts collection is an entirely new collection of fonts you don't have.

Hope this helps!

Myrna Larson Yes, that helps.

I guess you forgot to update the FEATURES tab since the previous promotion. But I suggest you provide the specific information about the 'trial', as you just did in responding to my question.

Also not sure about the license specifics. The EULA talks about NOTbeing able to transfer the license from one computer to another, so I don't understand how that jives with your statement that you can't provide a trial of the entire package. Sounds to me like you must be checking for a valid license whenever a font is installed or activated?
Sep 10 2016 at 9:27am Copy Link

Jason Hogrefe No, these are just a zipped folder of fonts that are delivered so there is no way to lock the fonts down with licensing. Premium Fonts includes a 10 computer, commercial use license so you can use them on multiple computers you own, or pass them to a printer if you need to print a project professionally. Sorry you are unable to install all the fonts for a trial period. You can see samples of them here:

http://macappware.com/pre...ilies.html

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Myrna Larson Thanks for the additional information and the link to see samples. Maybe your marketing people could consider creating a PDF with sample of all the fonts. Some other companies I have purchased from do that.

Jason Hogrefe Rich, the OpenType Fonts are in a separate folder. Webfonts are not meant to be used through traditional methods; they are to be uploaded to your server and linked to in website code. If you really only need the OpenType Fonts then just stick to using that folder in your download.

MBe The last update that I have received was 2016, the so called PremiumFonts-v7-Update - is there still a newer one? You told me in the mail during order process, I will never have to pay again for any new fonts you add to "Premium Fonts" subscription. Is this still valid?
Apr 17 2019 at 12:53pm Copy Link

Jason Hogrefe Yes, that is correct. Any new updates to our Premium Fonts collection will be sent to you automatically. We haven’t released a new update since version 7 though; this promo with BDJ is for people who don’t already own Premium Fonts.
