Gee, it's been a while since anyone sent you any email, which is odd. Plus, you updated your website a few days ago and haven't gotten any feedback on it. Then, the awful truth dawns on you. Your servers have been down for two days! You've been completely offline, losing contacts, losing potential customers, and losing credibility.

ProtoMon is a server monitoring application that will save you all of this headache. What ProtoMon does, it does well. It periodically checks your servers at specified intervals, and notifies you immediately when one or more of them isn't responding. This enables you to spring into action and take steps to resolve the server problem immediately, minimizing downtime and lost business.

Here's what ProtoMon can monitor: web servers using HTTP or HTTPS protocols, file servers using FTP, SFTP, or FTPS, and email servers using SMTP, IMAP, or POP3. Plus, you can also monitor any TCP-based server on any port. If any of these servers goes down, ProtoMon can alert you by displaying a pop-up message, playing a sound, or by dispatching an email message.

What good is a server monitoring program without statistics? ProtoMon can report the uptime, downtime, minimum and maximum response times, and many other values for any time period you specify - and display these stats graphically!

Jon G I run an FTP server from home and periodically my ISP issues me a new IP address for which I then have to update my DNS records. Can your program notify me that my IP address has changed? Perhaps it could compare WhatIsMyIP.com to the IP address of a given URL and then notify me of a mismatch?

Vadim Malyarchuk ProtoMon can periodically download WhatIsMyIP.com and search content for the specified string (your current IP address). But you will need to update this search string every time you updating the DNS records.

Also you can create a monitor that will check your FTP server by the domain name. You will receive a notification when it became inaccessible.

Nabil Bugaighis Hi,
Can the software check for a specific sentence or word on a web site page. I need to make sure my ASPX pages are running properly. The server could be functioning but all users see is the error page instead of actual web site pages.
Thank you.

Vadim Malyarchuk Hello Nabil. Thank you for your interest in ProtoMon! Yes, the program can check the downloaded content for the specified sentences or words. For every monitor you can create a powerful content filter that may include the parenthesis and the logical operators. For example: ("You are logged in as" OR "Hello Guest") AND NOT "Page not found"
