What are people saying about PT Photo Editor

John H I use this already and it is a great program that I use along with Zoner and a Panorama program.

My Cameras are 24 bit color.
My Laptop Monitor is 32 Bit True Color that I can switch to 16 Bit Hi-Color with no apparent change in quality.

Could you comment on the fact that this is 16 Bit Hi-Color.

I have no idea what color depth my other programs and monitors use.

I never noticed the Effects paint brush. was that an upgrade?

1. "16-bit editing" here means 16 bits per channel, and is also called 48-bit(3 channels). If you opened an 24 bit image file(8 bits / channel), the program will convert it to 16 bits per channel before editing, in order to get a higher output quality. You don't need change your monitor settings.

2. "Effect Brush" tool is on the tool strip in the "Regional Edit" module. You can press [F3] to switch to "Regional Edit" module and then press [B] to use the brush tool. If you have any problem, you could post it here or contact us directly. User Guide: Support url: Support email: (change # to @)

Hayden :) This is one of the best Photo Editing Tools out there. But, I place it above the other programs because of its amazing compact size and ease of use. Definitely give this program a try.

Thanks Hayden!
PT Photo Editor still has a large space to improved. If you have any suggestions, please feel free to tell us.

John H HI Hayden
Thanks for the explanation about the bits.

I am currently running Photo Toolbox 1.4. I just down loaded and am trying PT Photo Editor ver 2.7 trial. I see that these are 2 different programs entirely.

I tried the brush selection feature but the only time changes to the picture appeared were when my cursor arrow was on a slider with the left button held down. Even using the before and after view. I looked at your online tutorial but it did not help. Changes do stick and are saved in the Global Edit mode. What am I doing wrong?

I was hoping for a paint brush that would apply contrast or gamma changes in real time .... Paint Shop Pro did this before Corel bought them out and refused to honor and activate my older license.

This is a great addition to my other tools especially with the gradient select and brush tool.

I also appreciate the simple license terms which makes the management of my 3 computers easier. Zoner never gets used because the license is stuck on a computer that is no longer my main work station and I don't have the patience to contact them to make the change over.

What I would like to see:
Give us an option of having a floating tool box which now, using multiple monitors makes sense and allows me to put the full sized image on the main display and tools on the smaller extended display.

Think photo editing for 4K monitors. I compose and edit my photos for 60 inch plus HD monitors. The future is 4K. So having presets for the resolutions and ratios would be convenient. I never understood why any camera would need 16 Megapixels until realizing the potential of 4K displays.

1. If you don't want to see the red overlay which represents your selected region. You can turn it off on the right panel, or just press [O] on the keyboard. If you want it back later, press [O] again.

2. Your idea is great and cool. We'll improve the flexibility of the UI framework in the future. Thank you very much!

CodeDog Just purchased based on the website description and tutorials. Primary reason for purchase was the "liquid" feature, which many of my other photo editing programs don't have.

After a quick run through, a very nice little editor. Another good program to have in the toolbox, and the "liquid" feature works great.

A keeper. +++

John H I just purchased this and spent more time climbing the learning curve. The documentation is excellent and the Overlay Show/Hide option tripped me up.

But very good. The brush is able to discern edges. Well worth the price for this one feature.

Jan 15 2015 at 9:08pm Copy Link
I'm sorry, EXIF/IPTC data is not viewalbe in current version. We'll add this feature in the future.

But your metadata will not loss after saving with PT Photo Editor. You could choose which part of metadata should be kept or removed.

Cary Adams This is quite nice. Was about to purchase Zoner, but most all the tricks I need are here, and it's a lifetime, per-user license. Zowie!

Looks like I'b be using Zoner for watermarking, and this for most all my other editing needs (with an occasional foray with Inpaint)

If you're on the fence here... I'd say jump-in.

John H Zoner wants $50 extra for 3 PC license. This is on top of the purchase price. BOO!
Jan 16 2015 at 9:28am Copy Link
CodeDog I like Zoner, it's a great editing program, but the licensing needs to be more in line with current needs.

I use multiple computers, as most people do now, and refuse to pay for a license for each one. That's kept me from updating Zoner to the latest version...

Gde Swart While I live mostly in Photoshop but also use several other photo/graphics editing programs, I LOVE this little (7MB!) program. No lie. On my desktop PC it's become my go to app for quick adjustments. I can start PT Editor, apply a quick edit, save and exit before Photoshop finishes loading.

I originally picked it up for an old gutless netbook that I was taking on a trip. I wanted something light on resources. Not expecting much, I was pleasantly surprised at how powerful it really is. And even on my 1.6 Atom CPU EeePC this program is reasonably quick.

The UI is clean, modern and simple to figure out. The learning curve is small as everything is well labeled. Depending on how much photo editing experience you have, everything you expect to find is here and new features seem to be added with each version.

My only complaints are that it opens full screen and the help files are on-line (along with some very good tutorials too), but these quibbles are minor when compared with how well everything else works. The developer has created a very polished and professional application.

Even if you already have more than one photo editor, I'd say, especially at today's price, Get This. Play with it for a bit. You'll have just discovered a great new tool for your graphic arts workflow.

I tried this in Chrome, Firefox, IE and Opera, and it worked for me in all cases.

Perhaps it was a temporary issue.

wts Generally, I like to know something about the company/people behind software I purchase. There's nothing relevant on Photo-Toolbox's website other than their 1st language is not English (from the Blog: "As not only a wonderful moment, but a piece of precious memory, photo is one of the most important things for almost everyone."). To me, the home country, whether the US, Greece, Australia, China, Germany, UK, a country from the former USSR, and many others producing software vetted by BDJ of course is not a problem. Many companies featured on BDJ list their home addresses or do not go to great lengths to hide their identities from being revealed by a reasonable internet search. Such a search reveals nothing about Photo-Toolbox. Speak up, please, and tell us something about yourself. I'm interested because it appears you have developed excellent products in a very competitive market.

D Rogers I went ahead and purchased this. I am impressed. I use Lightroom, Corel Paintshop and a number of other editors. This one has the speed and intuitiveness that the others don't. High marks to the developer.
