GBB I got this program a few weeks ago on giveaway of the day so I've had a chance to try it. It's a nice program that doesn't use a lot of HD space and does what its made to do fairly well. At this price it was a no-brainer to go ahead and buy it.

Colin McAllister Gave this a try just now. Seems to work as advertised, although teeth-whitening didn't go as well as the sample images, but the skin effect was excellent.

Seems like a fun program and it's very easy to use (and to redo if you go to far with an effect!). Worth today's price.

Shell K I have used/liked version 1 from BDJ Giveway for a while so purchased Studio as a thank you.

A couple of Notes:
1. I assumed download from PT site and activate - appears to have worked.
2. I had to move the plugin to my Plugins folder rather than the link to PublicDocs as installed (for it to be discovered and work with Zoner).

Please clarify:
- BDJ says: Each license allows installation on all owned computers, but PT Portrait may not be used at exactly the same time on each of them.
- PT says: (http://www.photo-toolbox....icense.txt) PT grants to you the license that allows you to use only one copy of the Software on a single computer.

Michael R. I am wondering about the versions:
Std is version 1.5.4,
Studio is 1.3.5

So, is the standalone-part of the cheaper standard-version better than the one of the studio-version?

There're no relationship between the version numbers of two editions. The "Studio" contains all features of "Standard ".

The only difference now is "Studio" can work as Photoshop plug-in but "Standard" can only work as an standalone application.

In the future, "Studio" will support more professional features like 16-bits editing, color management etc. But the major retouching features will remain the same with "Standard".

VLM Will this product help improve photos that include no people? For example, if I am shooting photos for a procedure manual on how to make or build something, will this improve those photos in some way(s)? Or is primarily designed to improve pics of people?

Also it only saves in JPEG and TIFF. Why not PNG also?

Gr3gw I'd recommend this program to anyone that is serious about their portrait photography. It not only makes your subjects abnormally perfect but it cleans up ordinary portraits, making sub-standard portraits good.

Apple User I purchased PT Portrait Studio when it was on BDJ last time, and I like it very much.

I usually use PT Portrait(plugin) first and then refine the result in photoshop. It do save a lot of my time on smoothing skin. And the result is excellent.

So I strongly recommend this app/plug-in to who wants to get professional portrait retouching results without spending too much time on it.

To Photo-Toolbox:
Your PT Photo Editor looks good too(lightweight, 16-bit adjustments & effect presets), but I didn't purchase it, because it miss some important features(batch processing, adding text, etc). Hope you can keep improving it.

Bruce Brent Purchased the Studio edition. Entered the "activation code" Each and every time I close and open the program the activation box comes up again. How do I get this program to hold the code?

Is this an error in your program or is there another step which isn't covered in setting up this program?

Bruce Brent Caspar, thank you for your quick replies and support. YES, I now have the program working.

For those who are interested and haven't yet tried this program, it is SO easy to adjust an image. First try was my image. After adjusting the features this program provides, I'm twenty to years younger!

Heck, someone could actually turn this into a business, acquiring other's portraits/pictures and making them look more desirable.

Roy User I just purchased your product and I have to say I'm impressed with what it can do, but I have noticed something that I'd like to pass on to you. When I create a new preset with all adjustments made and try to apply that to a new image, the "Global" sliders go back to their defaults and NOT the exposure, contrast, etc. that I had set for that preset. Is this by design or a bug?

PHOTO-TOOLBOX.COM @Roy User: PT Portrait supports multi-faces retouching, and each face can be applied with a different preset. So the presets are designed to store only facial adjustments, not include the global adjustments.

Roy User I understand what you're saying and also understand that each photo needs some tweaks for facial adjustment points, but it would be nice if I could open an image, adjust my points, change whatever values are needed, save that as a preset and then go to my next photo, make my point adjustments and click my preset that includes a global adjustment. Just a thought to help speed up the workflow a bit.

Rick Related to previous posts, I was comparing PT Portrait to a program that I already own called FaceFilter 3; comparing the two programs may be helpful based on specific features that were mentioned above.

Unrelated, I am a bit quirky in that I only purchase software from vendors that provide tangible company/corporate information. I was looking at this program but cannot locate any company/corporate information for PHOTO-TOOLBOX.com (e.g., an about page that includes complete contact information and a brief description of the company). If someone can point me to such a page link or information, it would be appreciated.

Excellent terms of use (i.e., “The Fine Print”) and discount.

InterestedParty Hi there Photo-Toolbox : - I tried to buy the studio edition but got:

So, once again I face the choice between :

* Waiting for 24 hours to see if I get *any* reply from the payment processor (and by then have lost out on the discount )or
* Trying again (this time without the protection of a VPN, which some payment processors seem to see as sign of "suspicious activity").
As I have done the latter before and ended up with my credit card being hit twice for the same software, I think I have to go for the first option here and *not* buy ... sorry, I would have liked to.

Question to BTJ - would it be possible to add a line to the fine print that states if the payment processor for a software package accepts or rejects VPNs ? This would make it easier to stay clear off the unhelpful ones.
