What are people saying about Quick Notes Plus

DrTeeth Hi,

I am a long time user of Notezilla 7 and it is enough for my needs. I have been looking at the features for v8. I was particularly interested in the new feature for sending to other computers in my LAN. It seems that one has to enter the details *manually*. It would be much better to scan the LAN and pick the computers off a list.

Gautam Jain Thanks DrTeeth for your suggestion. I will take note of it.

Meanwhile, you may want to look at all the nice things we added to Notezilla 8.0
http://www.conceptworld.c...a/WhatsNew

Sending notes to computers over LAN & configuring them is must smoother & intuitive in Notezilla 8.0 plus a lot more.

DrTeeth Once I can scan my network, it will be tempting to upgrade. But I will have to wait until the deal appears here again as it is a better price than I get as a past customer if I 'upgrade'.

Hi @wyndham,
The skin files each version are different. You can download them from here - http://www.conceptworld.c...illa/Skins . Spiral paper is available only for Notezilla 7 & 8. And not QNP 5.

Hi @DrTeeth,
The "scanning the network" feature will be used rarely because once you add a set of computers, you will use this feature only when a new computer is added to the network or when a computer name changes. Which happens occasionally only. The deal here is $17.95. For upgrading it is $19.95.

Heidi-Ann Kennedy-Fourkiller I can't say much about "Quick Notes Plus", though I'm a very satisfied user of "Notezilla." Unlike other stickies you can attach notes to virtually any window, including websites. Great for research notes. Networking wasn't the norm for setup, yet still no issue to preform.

I did have to contact customer support once, and my question / issue was resolved in the quickest and most professional manner.

Hi highly recommend Notezilla.

@Big Tex, you can also buy Notezilla 8.0 for $17.95 only on the same day (15th & 16th Jan).

Brent Carey I've just installed Quick Notes Plus v5.0, and have to say that I really like the program. Had the opportunity to download the available skins for this version, and the Skins import was very painless and flawless. I've used other Sticky Note programs, in the past, and I have to say this is the best one that I've used. It is very user-friendly. I'd like to eventually upgrade to Notezilla, but may be restricted by cost. Not sure what the regular cost of this version is. Anyway, "Thank You!! BitsDuJour and Conceptworld!! :)

Thanks!

Constantin Florea @ej shetlar - Could you please clear your browser cache and if that doesn't work, try another browser: IE, Chrome, Firefox, Opera. The issue you mention could be caused by some add-ons/extensions you may have installed for the browser you've used to get the deal.

Joan This sounds like a great deal. Version 8 caught my eye - I was particularly interested in the free app for my smartphone, so I can send stickies between desk and phone. In researching it, I found something that confused me. It almost looks like there is a $29 yearly fee to allow for this syncing. Can you clarify this?

Chandig Just downloaded and installed, looks nice. Needs a scroll bar for long notes though, otherwise it isn't obvious when there's more text than what is showing on the note.

@Joan Mershon, Notezilla 8 is the desktop sticky notes app that has the ability to sync with the cloud. Once done, you can access your notes from any smartphone using the Notezilla.Net web app. Notezilla 8 when purchased, comes with 1 year free cloud subscription. After which, if you wish to sync with cloud, between computers & access from phone, then you would need to renew the subscription for $29.95. If you don't renew, you can still continue to use the desktop app though.

@Irena Stokrot, To unlock Quick Notes Plus (QNP):

1. Right click on QNP icon (next to the clock) in the Windows taskbar.
2. Choose "Help-Enter Registration Code" from the menu in order to enter the registration code supplied to you.

@Chandig, you can enable vertical scrollbar using Advanced-General Preferences (go to Note tab after this). Once you enable all new notes created will have vertical scrollbar when the text exceeds the height of the sticky note.

Thanks

Mary Wilson I purchased Notezilla 8 last time you had it here. Do I need to purchase another copy for my laptop? In addition, can I send notes from my laptop to my main system without the sync.

JoanW @Gautam Jain - Thanks for the reply. I love that factory reps hang out here to answer questions and generally be helpful. Just to follow up with you - I will not be upgrading to the regular version. I don't mind paying a fair price for the software I use, but I am not a fan of the 'payment in perpetuity' model. I especially don't like having to essentially buy a new version of the software every year to get the function that I need. There are a few subscription based programs I use - but typically the price/cost ratio is more in the new version every 3-4 years range.

Gautam Jain @Mary Wilson, If you are the *only* user between 2 computers, then you can purchase just a single user license and use it on both the computers. Please note that this policy is applicable to a maximum of 2 computers only.

Yes, you can send notes between local computers without the sync.

@Joan Woodward, to keep the data up to date on your systems, phone etc where ever you go, we also use external servers that charge us on subscription basis. So we are force to make it a subscription model. Since ours is free for the first year, you can try it & find if you find it useful & worth renewing only after 365 days.

Lew Phillips I've been using Notezilla for a very long time. It is great and very handy. I really liked the idea of the sync, but $29 a year is way, way too steep for that function. With how much space it takes up on a server and the fact that you can get tons of free storage elsewhere, I can't see any justification for the price. IMHO, it should be included (and not just for a one year teaser). I've been looking for that functionality in a program like Notezilla for some time. At $29 a year, I'll keep looking and most likely will have to abandon a program that I have come to rely on for something else.

@Lew Phillips,

Thanks for your feedback. It really helps. We see that you haven't created the sync account for Notezilla already you are a registered user of Notezilla 8. When you purchase Notezilla 8, you get 1 year free cloud sync so that you can try & see how it fits your lifestyle. I suggest that you create you free account today. At least you have 1 year to use Notezilla.Net without paying anything. Meanwhile, we may launch native apps for Android/iOS so that you will find it more useful and worth paying $29 per year.

@Watcher1924, click on the "Get it for free" and follow the steps. You will be asked to like 2 facebook pages after which you can download QNP. You can also download QNP from our website http://www.conceptworld.com/QNP and then follow above steps to get the activation key. To unlock Quick Notes Plus (QNP):

1. Right click on QNP icon (next to the clock) in the Windows taskbar.
2. Choose "Help-Enter Registration Code" from the menu in order to enter the registration code supplied to you.

Lew Phillips I am certain that the sync will work just like I am hoping and a free year is nice. It is just that I have no intention of paying so much for that kind of feature when there are services out there that sync full directories for free.

Guy Good @Gautam Jain

Why not allow for the use of Dropbox and a few others that offer users free storage. It would be no cost for you and no cost for users as well.

The amount of data synced wouldn't exceed free accounts most likely.

I don't care for the subscription model either and try to avoid it like the plague.

Frank Stephens @Lew Phillips, I think that I did purchase a version of Notezilla at one time but I no longer use those types of utilities. You should look into Google Keep (runs on the Desktop if Chrome is installed, Android version more fully featured, free near real-time cloud synchronization, very limited version runs on the Lock screen of recent Android versions), Google Calendar (runs in most browsers, free cloud synchronization), and the wonderful Google Now (uses the Cloud, mostly Android at present). I'm sure no one will read this.

Thanks all. Thanks @Guy Good, @Lew Phillips & @Frank Stephens,

@Guy Good & @Lew Phillips, Dropbox cannot be used as a database server (yet). So we cannot do many things that Notezilla does now. We have better plans for Notezilla which cannot be achieved with Dropbox. More important, we don't want to invest in a third-party company. Instead, it is safe to have our own cloud server (using Microsoft's Windows Azure) so that we have complete control.

Thanks for all your feedback. It really helps.
