Karlis Blumentals You can purchase Rapid CSS now and upgrade to WeBuilder for the price difference as if you would have paid full price for Rapid CSS.

WeBuilder promo was some time ago. I can not tell if and when there would be another promotion for that product.

Kevin Lee I like the snappy screen. But it seems to lack unicode support.
I cannot seem to enter Chinese/Japanese characters and when I open UTF-8 files with multi-bytes chars, the screen does not render it properly (the fonts overlaps each other). And, I did changed the editor font to unicode fonts

Karlis Blumentals While Unicode is supported (UTF-8, UTF-16), the Asian languages (e.g. Chinese, Japanese) with double-width characters are currently not supported due to technical reasons.

You can still open and save files containing such characters, but entering these characters is not possible.

DrTeeth Three installations per footprint? That is very mean and unecessary. I expect to be able to install on the same hardware as many times as I wish. A big MISS for this reason alone.

Karlis Blumentals I am afraid you have not understood how it works. The activation system is capable of recognizing your hardware - disk drive in particular. So you can install it on the same PC as many times as you want and it will count as one time.

Jan-Christoph Ihrens I purchased Rapid PHP a month ago here on BitsDuJour. According to the feature comparison matrix (http://www.blumentals.net...ompare.php), Rapid PHP seems to be able to do everything that Rapid CSS can do. Is that correct or does Rapid CSS have some additional features?

Karlis Blumentals Our activation system is fairly flexible and what is more, licensing allows use on multiple computers, so there is nothing to worry about.

Unfortunately we can not disclose our plans on future promotions because it defeats the purpose of BDJ. What I can disclose is that if you have missed the promotion, there is usually a few-days grace time during which we allow to use it.

Robert Reese Whether your DRM is flexible or not is irrelevant. It poses real risk to your customers, and I won't go down that road again. Ever.

Besides, your DRM requires internet access - a security risk - which is sending who-knows-what data to foreign servers. That alone puts people at risk for violating various regulations and laws with which they must comply.

Personally, I don't have a big problem with it, too. But mentioning Microsoft and Adobe in this context is a little bit off the subject - both are giants, and it is very unlikely that they will vanish from the market anytime soon. Smaller companies cease to exist all the time.

Do you mean I shouldn't have asked? Well, I already mentioned the comparison matrix. But "Language tools: CSS: yes" etc. isn't very precise. There could still be a lot of differences. "Rapid CSS" and "Rapid PHP" sound like two more or less specialized products. It's not a matter of course that the one contains each and every feature of the other one.

Philip Dommer Now I understand your comment Theresa. I hadn't read the earlier comments. I too would be interested in purchasing the discounted Rapid CSS here today and then upgrade it to Webbuilder. It would result in a bit of a discount for Webbuilder which, according to the comments, may or may not show up again on BDJ.

Karlis Blumentals You can upgrade from the standard Upgrade page on our website (same procedure as used to upgrade from older versions). It does not make a difference whether you upgrade from older WeBuilder to newer one or from Rapid CSS to WeBuilder. Our upgrade policy allows to cross-upgrade from whatever code editor/version to any latest editor/version of the same product line. Here is the link: http://www.blumentals.net...pgrade.php

I can not promise anything, but if there will be demand, I am sure, Roger will allow us to run WeBuilder on BitsDuJour fairly soon again. I think it is only a matter of time.

Philip Dommer Thanks for the info Karlis. I see you're having a Winter Special price for WeBuilder. BTW... I installed Webuilder to evaluate it. When I'm connected to an FTP site and editing an aspx file, it's actually just plain html5, Webuilder crashes when I click on the Preview tab.

Constantin Florea @Rod User, Actually Rapid CSS is only $39.95 if you look at the "personal, non-commercial use by students and home users" license.

However if you look at the "For general use by professional developers, companies and government organizations" license you will see that it has a regular price of $49.95 which is exactly the regular price we're using for this promotion.

So in essence we are actually promoting the $49.95 regular price license with a discount of 50% (specifically $24.97) as it is labeled in the promotion page.
