E P I'm also interested in the Multi Project version if it becomes available as part of the promo.
Is it safe to assume that the Mac version is part of this offer?

Tiberiu Ghioca Only the Single Project version is available at promotional prices. Yes, the Mac version is included in the promo.

Hate Planning But Nothing Better Can Be Done Couldn't find the upgrade price from single to multi version. Also, can I use it both on my home and work PC? (very common licensing, but worth the question here)

Tiberiu Ghioca The upgrade price is $41. The license is per user, that is you can use it on both PCs as long it is you and not some other person.

Love Planning Why not set up Multi Project version available as an option at a different price like $69.50 ($28.50 + $41.00) similar to the other softwares listed here so that we can purchase it with just one transaction rather buy the Single Project first then upgrade to Multi-Project? I also checked the Web site, I can't seem to find an Upgrade option page. I don't want to be stuck at Single Project version and go through the hoops of upgrading.

Tiberiu Ghioca It is very simple. Multi Project version already has an affordable price and there is no reason to give an extra discount just to promote it on BitsDuJour. This promotion is available only for Single Project so if you want Multi Project this is the only possibility: just contact us after the promotion and you will get the upgrade option.

Alexander Deliyannis Just to confirm: by purchasing a license to RationalPlan Single Project (I intend to upgrade to Multiple Project later on) will I be able to run the program on a Windows PC and a Linux laptop, and will files from on operating system be compatible with the other? The cross-platform aspect is actually a most important issue for me, thanks.

Tiberiu Ghioca Yes Alexander, that is correct, you will be able to use it cross platform as you described

Dick OZ - Can this tool handle task estimates in effort (i.e 80 hours). And then calculate the duration if a resource would be available for 4 hours per day. So the duration would be 20 (working-)days?
Apr 24 2010 at 10:30pm Copy Link

Tiberiu Ghioca Yes, it will automatically compute the duration of the task for a given amount of work if task is work-driven (check the "Try to keep work when changing resources/duration (make task work-driven)" option for that task

John H I have been trying to download the trial all day without any luck on two different computers. I have gone to the product website and have not had luck trying to download the 2 Windows versions of the product.

Please fix the problem or make this deal available again when fixed. Thanks.

Tiberiu Ghioca The download works just fine as it did for the rest of users. Here is the direct link again:

John H I have bought lots of software from the Daily Deals here. Every once in a while there are some problems.

I tried the link you just pasted with the same negative results. I have also just tried it on Internet Explorer and Firefox, just to make sure.

I was able to download GanttProject open source along with a few other PM packages just fine.

I'm glad it works for the rest of your users.

Your product has a few very good reviews and I was anxious to try it out but right now GanttProject seems to suit my needs
I'll check back in a few days.
Thanks

Chris . Will you be offering RationalPlan Multi Project as part of the deal, too?

Tiberiu Ghioca Hi Chris! At this moment only Single is discounted and probably Multi will never be offered at such low prices...

Brian H Hi- This looks like a very good program!! Question- the BDJ Policy tab does not say anything about product activation. Could you please comment on this ... what activation does the product require? Online? Hardware footprint? As someone who upgrades his computers/components fairly often, this can make a difference to me. Thanks. -Brian

Tiberiu Ghioca You will receive a license that is valid per user so there is not problem with moving it to a newer computer.

CFGuy Dear Stand by Soft,
This program looks very interesting with a robust feature set. I am aware the Microsot has a "Project" program out (in fact, you even mention it on your webpage about "RationalPlan"), how does RationalPlan compare to Microsoft's program? What benefits does RationalPlan offer over MS Project?
In addition, I see that here on BDJ you are only offering the "Single Project" version. What about those of us who would need the "Multi Project" version - would you be willing to offer the same discount (50% off) on this version, as well?
Finally, I also see from your website that you have a "Project Server" edition (or component), which I would assume be offered at an additional cost (although I was not able to find any mention of the cost on your product website). If a customer did not need all of the additional functionality that the "Project Server" edition or component offers, could the "Multi Project" version be used over a standard network by multiple users/computers if the program's data file(s) were stored on a "network drive"? Let's say that it is not even important that the data file be accessible by all users at the same time (it would just remain "locked", or additional users would know not to access the file until first user has finished and updated file). Would this be possible using only "Multi Project" version, with additional program copies purchased to be installed on each user's computer?
Hope I was able to articulate my question in an understandable enough way; and thank you for the discounted program offering here on BDJ, and for your response to my questions.

Tiberiu Ghioca Here is a compare without entering into details: http://www.rationalplan.c...mpetitors/

We offer just Single as a discount. Multi and Server allow you to work on multiple projects concurrently. You can try them for free if you want.
