Deleto Maximo 37 validation errors on the home page alone. Some very, very nasty tags such as (center). Besides, I can only find 11 color schemes instantiating the same template/theme, where are the other 10 "site templates"?

thanks for your comments, the center tags and validations error are for the demo website cotent thats all, the 11 theme colour schemes are the 11 website templates.

thanks for your reply.

I believe a commercial theme listed for $200 (now $79, $32 on BDJ but still listed as $200, which suggests a value of $200) has to be measured by high standards. It has to provide markup that validates properly, especially if it is advertised as being "professional".

I'm not saying that errors can or should be totally avoided, but 35 of them is far from acceptable given the suggested price and the advertisement. Coding is no longer an afterthought but the foundation of a website.

If you put a demo page online and that consists of so many validation errors and some really inadequate tags ([center] tag has been abandoned for a decade now, and for a reason), then that's all I seem to get for my money. Or is this legacy code from the 90's?

As to the color themes: These should really be called themes or, more adequate, styles as 10 different color styles for the same layout still make only one template, not 10 templates (as advertised). That is downright misleading.

I believe your theme has some very nice plugins and ideas (surely very useful for anyone who needs this), but being suggested a professional deal here given those obvious flaws leaves me feeling a bit deceived.

PS: I know my criticism can be strong but I believe it is just as honest and constructive.

I appreciate your feedback but there is a time and a place, i think your comments here are very unnecessary and may confuse people.

You are referring to w3C validation GUIDELINE "errors" NOT errors with the product that we are offering, we don't advertise to conform to such guidelines but as i already told you the validation errors are mostly due to it being a demo website.

LETS PUT THIS IN CONTEXT...

For those that are unaware the w3C is ONLY a set guidelines for website code markup, it is not enforced in anyway.

TAKE GOOGLE.COM for an example, when i check their website using the same validation tools you are criticizing my product for they show;

35 Errors, 2 warning(s) (we only show 6!)

Despite these errors i'm not going to stop using Google or even waste their time by leaving comments online to slander and misrepresent their products/services.

But that's not going to stop me using their excellent service.

To design, develop and built a website similar to what we are offering here will cost you upwards of $1,000 (at a minimum), i don't see how anyone could feel "deceived" when the price here is $32!.

Either way i do appreciate all useful criticism and will take on board your comments.

You've made your points, and the vendor has responded. I believe we can lay the issue to rest.

And again, a continuing note to everyone -- keep it polite. Because so many developers are kind enough to participate on these boards we take conduct very, very seriously.

Finally (and this is my personal opinion, not BDJ's), the expectation of full W3C validation from a website of any size or substance isn't particularly realistic, nor practical.

Now please, back to questions about Real Estate Theme for Wordpress.

Jesus Perez How many domains can I use this theme on?

Does it include any kind of IDX or RETS feed support?

If no IDX or RETS support, do you have any verified IDX or RETS feed partners with plugins that are confirmed "working' out of the box with your theme?

Can I import multiple listings via CSV? Or must each house be entered manually?

What kind of support do you offer? Lifetime, 6 month, etc?

How long can I receive updated copies of this theme?

You can install onto as many domains as you like as long as you are not reselling the software.

There is no IDX or RETS support out of the box because most require their own setup which makes integration difficult.

There is however CSV import tools so you can import all listings and update listiings via CSV.

Support and theme updates are all lifetime.

Gunderic Hagen OK, I checked the demo and it shows info on England.... Also I checked on a U.S. address and found nothing except some advise pointing to a link in the U.K. Is this for Britain only? I tried to download an evaluation sample but it is not available. I imagine that you have to create the database yourself, and only those there will appear....But what about the map?

Granted, I may be looking for something you DO NOT offer, so I will tell you what I need:

I would like to have software to create a window on my website where visitors can enter a U.S. (only) address and the info about the property would appear together with the location map.
Finally, is there a feature by which you can get the same listing, but listed by other realtors?

This is a Wordpress theme, there are no sample downloads, maybe you have the wrong links?

The theme has been designed for a Worldwide audience, UK/USA alike as the google maps side of it works anywhere.

I should note in responce to your query that this is not an addon for an existing website, its a complete real estate soltion, im not sure this is the right product for what you are looking for.

Ed b If you look under the add BitduJour corresponding to your product is a DOWNLOAD button.

QUESTIONS:

1) The properties to be depicted are ONLY the one you previously entered in your data base. Right?

2) It will not seek the same property listed by other realtors. Right?

3) How about if I set a button (link) on my website to the website created by your software?

4) Is it possible to somehow link Google Base (real estate) to the database of your software?

Sorry that I'm not an expert in the area of software. I am trying to see if I can use your software to complement what i do on my website (very sophisticated statistical analyses on listed properties)

James Doe I am a designer, if someone asked me to do this from scratch I would be charging well in excess of $1000.00, I will probably buy it just as a template for my back pocket, hard work has been done.

1) The example properties on the demo websites are ones i added yes, they are within the Wordpress database (as normal Wordpress posts) and can be edited/removed and your own added.

2) You can view a realtor (agent) profile to view all the properties listed by one realtor

3) That would work fine yes, try to remember this is a Wordpress theme, so you basically install Wordpress as normal and install our product into Wordpress. (www.wordpress.org)

4) It maybe yes however its not something we have as part of the theme, Wordpress has many plugins so it might be posisble to find one that works with Google base.
