J Hello,

It's great to see you back at developing Resource Tuner after approximately 5 years.

Will you begin developing your PE Explorer that is sold here on BDJ? It hasn't had an update since October 2009.

Also can you clarify your update/upgrade policy for Resource Tuner? Are all 2.xx updates included free?

Thank you for welcoming us back!

We never stopped developing Resource Tuner. It simply took us 5 years to build v.2 from scratch, and now we are back in the game.

We never stopped developing PE Explorer either. But due to the challenges and complexities associated with the new version, we cannot offer a firm date or timeline at the moment. And yet, we can promise you that we are working hard to get it out the door.

Our update policy for Resource Tuner is typical: all updates are free within 12 months from the date of purchase.

Ottavio I'd like to edit UIFILE section of explorerframe.dll on Windows 10. http://i.imgur.com/88qmRdu.jpg
Unfortunately, the data are not simply text and Resource Tuner is not able to modify them, nor it is able to search inside them.
Maybe a new version can do it?
It's a long time that you don't update Resource Tuner, is the project discontinued?

J Hi Serge,

Do you plan on releasing updates anytime soon? If so, hopefully some updates could be released before August, when our (the customers of last sale) 12-month updates policy expires.

It would be great if you could change your 12-month update policy to a 'free minor versions' policy, since your updates are so few and far between.

It seems like most developers that have a 12-month update policy usually are much more active in their developing and release many updates in a 12-month period.

Also, are you still working on PE Explorer? Many of us are looking forward to version 2. It's been so many years.

Serge Vershin We are planning on releasing an update in February. Will have to look into this UIFILE issue further, though.

And yes, still working on PE Explorer 2.

Bertie Brummel Your PE site says the application is usable for 32-bit software only. Is this restriction valid for Resource Tuner too?

Serge Vershin No. Resource Tuner 2 handles both 32- and 64-bit files.

William Henry When you say, "EXECUTABLE FILES" are these programs created with other programs, like MICROSOFT'S VISUAL STUDIOS?

Serge Vershin Yes. "Executable file" is the file format used by EXEs, DLLs, and ActiveX controls. Other notable executable files have the extensions "scr", "sys", "cpl" and "ocx", and even "msstyles" first featured in Windows XP. Also note that not all executable files will run on their own - DLL's for example.

Rob User I was trying to install the trial version but Windows defender will not allow it. Is there a way around it?

Serge Vershin Yes. Select Run it anyway when Windows Defender throws an alert.
Windows always marks the newly uploaded files as suspicious based on the low number of downloads. Strange logic but this is how it works.

Rob User I get the option to keep, which i confirm, but then I get a screen that only gives me a "dont run" option. There is no option to run it anyway.

Serge Vershin That option "Run anyway" will appear if your expand the screen with the "More Info" link.

William W. User I tried - in vain - to purchase 2 copies of Resource Tuner.
No matter which browser I use the order page insists on entering a coupon, which is not provided.
I only get the message "Coupon finish date is in the past"..
So I give up, regretfully.
