RollBack Rx Professional is a powerful utility that enables home users and IT professionals alike to easily restore their PC to exactly how it was at a specific time before a system crash or other catastrophe.

RollBack Rx Professional is different from most other backup software. Rather than periodically (and time-intensively) saving and re-saving all of your data, RollBack Rx Professional takes continuous backup "snapshots" of your entire system. It happens silently in the background, uses minimal system resources, and requires only 2 to 3 seconds to complete a snapshot!

Then, if something BAD happens -- like a system crash, aborted or failed software installation, malware invasion, or funky update procedure -- all you need to do is RollBack Rx Professional to the snapshot right before the crash. It's that easy!

You can take said snapshots at a specific time or on a fixed schedule (hourly, daily etc). You can take as many snapshots as you want, and you can roll-back and roll-forward to and from any snapshot whenever you feel like it!

William W. User The concept is very interesting, even great.
Earlier comments show that there are some issues, however, relating mainly to:
-- VSS (Volume Shadow Service)
-- System Restore Points
-- Defraggers
-- SSDs
I purchased the program, intending to install it on one of my computers when I have some spare time to experiment with it.
I do recommend that you read the previous comments before purchase and/or install.
I am not in any way bashing the program -- it looks like it has great potential.

Rob Nolan Great idea, but what happens if your computer crashes to the point that you can't open Windows to even RUN the restore?

I think using the program in conjunction with an imaging program (Terabyte's Image For Windows for example) would be the best scenario. If the PC can't boot then IFW's rescue disk could be used to access an image to restore.

I suppose Rollback's greatest asset is it's convenience, a quick way to get out of a problem.

Allen Beasley Rob the RollBack RX recovery environment loads before Windows does. It gives you the option to press the Home key within several seconds. If you do not manually engage RollBack RX the boot process will proceed to Windows.

b g I used an earlier version and it worked as described. My only warning would be that, unlike Windows Restore, when it brings you back to the set point, you will have lost all the other files (correspondence, etc.) you have created since the set point.

If you were to regularly back up your correspondence and other non-system files and could then add those back after returning to the set point, you would be golden.

With that caution, I recommend it as it does what it says it will do.

You will not use the program on windows to repair it.
You will reset the PC and use the HOME key when rebooting - from there you will have the option to repair your windows the way it was before.

Raymond Callan Having used this program fairly extensively on and off - i would give it a 8/10.

However, be aware, it is not compatible with Windows 11 (as per Jester @ Rollback support i spoke to Wednesday) As usual, they are working on a version that will be compatible BUT they "don't know when it will be available" They are quite slow to bring out new versions along side Windows versions.
