What are people saying about Secure-PDF
Colin McAllister Downloaded trial. Adding watermark image worked as expected - in fact, very well. When trying to encrypt, encrypted pdf asked for password as expected and refused entry if password entered was incorrect. Also didn't show pdf contents if password was incorrect - all good so far

However, I did not tick "print" or "edit text"in the permissions, but WAS able to print the pdf every time and copy all the text to clipboard.

I thought I must have understood permissions incorrectly, so next time I actively ticked both "print" and "edit text" and I was STILL allowed to print/copy text. Is there something else I should be doing, because IMHO it's no good encrpyting a pdf, if the user can open it one time and make as many (unencrpyed) copies as they like.

Please advise. Thanks.

P.S. The "yes" and "no" buttons on the trial I downloaded still have "Ja" and "Nein" on them. It doesn't cause a problem, but just looks odd when the rest of the page in in English.:-)

Andreas Stroebel @Colin McAllister: The restrictions just take effect if you open the file with the user password. Master always has all permissions. In order to protect the file from printing, you must set a user password, uncheck the print checkbox and hand-out the user password to the recipient of the PDF file.

We fixed the missing translations in version 2.001, thank you very much for reporting!

Colin McAllister Apologies. I had another question.

I use keywords/tags a lot to enable me to find documents. I added keywords to a pdf, encrypted it using Secure-Pdf, checked "properties" in Win 10 and none of my keywords were shown under "details" using Explorer.

I then opened the pdf, checked file....properties, and the keywords I had added were in there. My question was going to be "If Windows can't find the keywords in the pdf, what's the point of adding keywords to the pdf?"

I searched and found the solution. Coolstuff at altervista.org has a donationware program "pdf property extension", that allows Windows to read pdf metadata. I installed it and Windows immediately found the keywords in my encrypted pdf, thereby making Secure-Pdf a *much* more attractive purchase.

I am in no way connected to Coolstuff, I'm just sharing the solution, in the hope od saving others time, and perhaps the developers of Secure-Pdf have already been asked "If Windows can't find the keywords in the pdf, what's the point of adding keywords to the pdf."? This isn't the only solution, but it is *a* workable solution.

Hourglass94 Is it possible to do batch securing in one go?
By this I mean if I had a folder containing 100 PDFs could I apply the same security settings to all of the files at the same time or will each one have to be done seperately.

Is it possible to drag and drop the files to be secured?

HKP Ajit, you are wrong. Time limited is only the right to download, to obtain support and to download updates of future versions. The license itself is perpetual. The license extensions offered in the customer account are only required if you want to keep the temporary rights. This is primarily the right to update to newer versions.

Stew Cam Not happy. Had to fill in form to get license and download link by email. But download link in email leads back to form. And of course filing in form again gives error message that product is already registered.

CFGuy Hi - For ASCOMP Software Rep - Thanks for the free software offer. I have a question for you: there seem to be many programs available on the market to "remove" or "decrypt" password and encrypted PDF documents. Is there anything about your program that would *NOT* allow one of these PDF password remover/decrypter programs to defeat the password/encryption scheme on a "Secure-PDF" password protected/encrypted PDF document? Andreas Stroebel @CFGuy: It's the encryption provided by PDF itself, so as long as you want to be able to open the file with PDF readers, there is no alternative.

Kenneth User I have the same problem. Completed the registration. Got the email and registration code. Clicked the link to download and nothing happens. Clicked the link to download again and get the message that the link has been downloaded too many times. So I have no software in spite of having done every thing correctly.

Constantin Florea Apologies about the issue with the download. I checked and it seems the instructions in the receipt email were not very accurate. We just updated them now. Specifically after going to the link in the BitsDuJour receipt email, you will receive an email from the vendor, containing another link which will direct you to register on the vendor's website from where you will be able to download the full version using your customer menu.

Er User I am not clear how to register.
I was able to download and install the software.
According to the instructions:

"Download and install your software. Use your registration code to unlock the software when prompted."

I was not prompted for the registration code during the installation or when it was launched.
When the program is running there does not appear to be anyplace to input the registration code.

Can you advise me how to register the program.

Don User I jumped through all the hoops and after downloading and installing this Secure-PDF software, the program did not encrypt two of my PDF's. I even tried encrypting one PDF two times. I also tried rebooting. None of the PDF's restricted my opening them by requiring a password!
