What are people saying about SharePoint 2013 Hosting

NotesTracker - Tony Austin Clarification needed:
The price is regularly $99 per year according to the vendor's website. Is that the regular price per person/user/seat?

And regarding today's special deal of $49, is that for one person per year (recurring/ongoing) or only for the first year and back to the regular $99 per year (per person) after that?

Mike Gnade Tony - $99 per year is the regular price but that plan has unlimited users so the price is per site collection not per user.

The deal is setup to be half price for the first year and go back to $99 per year after that.

Andrew Griffiths We are a small company that has never used SharePoint but are very interested. The description above presupposes some knowledge. Can you explain the top 3 benefits of SharePoint? Also, does your version of SharePoint allow co-editing of Microsoft Office documents? Thank you

Mike Gnade Sharepoint 2013 is the easiest to use yet. I would say the key benefits of sharepoint are
1. Collaborating and tracking of documents so that you're always working from the most up to date version
2. Sharepoint search is great and makes finding things very easy.
3. Shared office calendars, task lists and blogs keep teams on task.

Andrew Griffiths Thank you for your answer. I assume from (1) that the answer is "yes" but please confirm explicitly that co-editing of documents is feasible. If this is correct, which types of Office docs can be co-edited (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), please?
Jun 23 2013 at 7:20pm Copy Link

Mike Gnade Yes, you can co-edit documents (it will track user changes and you can even add workflows) but Office Web Apps are not a part of SharePoint Foundation (this deal) so you cannot co-edit simultaneously in the browser. Office Web Apps are a SharePoint enterprise feature.

Andrew Griffiths Mike - you've still got me confused. You say "Yes" to co-edit and then "No." Do you mean that you can co-edit simultaneously (a) when using desktop apps (b) not when using office web apps?

Ted Szczygielski I do not see any information about database limit , nymbera site collection limit. Or maybe it's not limited in this special offer ;-) ......

Mike Gnade Andrew - To Coedit a document in Sharepoint, there is one version online that you "check in/out" and edit with your normal Office Desktop apps. When you make your changes, the file is checked back-in and all of your changes are tracked. Co-editing simultaneously is ONLY possible with SharePoint Enterprise edition and the online office web apps.

Ted - These deals correspond to our 1GB Foundation Plans. Each plan comes with 1 gigabyte of storage. Of course you can always upgrade your storage as needed.

jeroen hendriks hey, your offer come really in time, we have started to build our site collection on office 365 trial, however would like to migrate to you.

Can we migrate a site collection in an easy way?
Jun 25 2013 at 7:28am Copy Link
0
Mike Gnade The URL is your desired site name as a subdomain so an example is yourname.sharepoint99.com. You can add your own domain for a fee ie example.com

We cannot migrate a site collection from office 365 because they use a per seat version of sharepoint. It is not foundation.

Mike Gnade The 3 packages are described on our website in more detail but they all have 1gb of storage and unlimited users. The more expensive plans have more helpdesk support and the corporate version features anonymous access and public websites.

We are US based but have tons of international users. You should not experience any lag. If you find the service is too slow in the first 30 days, we will happily refund your money.

Richard Perry Hi, our company is in the UK. We are in the final process of designing a Sharepoint 2013 site and would like to take advantage of your offer which is very well timed!!

There is a problem as I notice that when we click on "buy now" link above we are not being presented with the discounted half price offer but the full price in GBP.

Can you please confirm if this discounted offer is only available in US as I can't see anything in your fine print to say this is the case...

Mike Gnade You can get the discounted price - it is simply displayed on the 2nd page of the checkout. Click next and you will see it applied when you put in your credit card details.
