Tazzie Will discounts be provided for upgrades of major versions?

Jan 29 2012 at 5:38pm Copy Link

Scott Bernadot Hi Tazzie.
Thank you for your question and interest.

In the event of a major upgrade, we would contact all existing customers and offer them a discount on the newer version.

Hope that helps :)

Thank you - Scott

Tazzie The website for this Plugin states that it is a single-site license, which would limit me to using it on one website or Wordpress site. I could not find such an indication here on BDJ, so I would appreciate some clarification as to whether this applies to Plugins bought through BDJ.

Jan 29 2012 at 11:25pm Copy Link

Scott Bernadot There are 2 license options available, and both are discounted during this sale.

Single Site License (One WordPress Installation): $19 (reg. $37)

Developer (Unlimited Sites) License: $37 (reg. $77)

When you click the Buy Now button, you will see the options.

Last I checked the Developer License was highlighted above the Buy Now button, but I see that has changed now to the Single Site. It is a bit unclear, so I thank you for your question.

Bernadot Studios, LLC - Jan 29 2012 at 11:34pm Copy Link

Adrian Williams I've installed the download onto one wordpress blog for testing. What are the activation procedures since the download seems to work without any form of activation. I'll be looking for the developer licence by the way.

Jan 30 2012 at 12:18am Copy Link

Scott Bernadot Hi Adrian - I'm confused. How did you download and install the plugin without purchase?

Bernadot Studios, LLC - Jan 30 2012 at 12:24am Copy Link

Adrian Williams Not as confused as me.
It looks like you may be inadvertantly giving your product away.
Contact me directly and I'll explain. BDJ has my email address.

and by the way: it is already possible to buy it with the BDJ discount, even the deal is not on today. I can send you the buy link if you want:

Scott Bernadot Hi Lupke,

Ahhh..thanks man. I have taken down the page for now.

This is my first time selling on BDJ and I did not realize the offer would be posted prior to the sales date with live links. Now I know :)

Thank you kindly for your help.

- Scott

Lupke Brother @ Scott,

You're welcome. But keep in mind there are also remaining cookies on the e-junkie website. I still have a direct link to my shopping cart, without the need to being redirected from the shortcode website for $37. Even after deleting my browser cache I can still make a purchase on paypal!

Jan 30 2012 at 8:12am Copy Link

Scott Bernadot Thank you Lupke.

That's cool with me if a few sell early. BDJ will still get their commission and the buyer gets a deal. It's all good :)

Again, I appreciate the heads up. - Scott

@Adrian - lol - Thanks for your offer to help me out. I have sent you an email. Thank you - Scott

Alain Lesage I will not be buying this because... I already did!

I have been using it for a few weeks and I want to say it is an amazing tool, completely worth its price.

Works great, does beautiful things to a website in seconds. I will use it on every WordPress site I create. Best plugin purchase I ever made.

I take this opportunity to thank the developper. If you ever create a WordPress web site, you should also thank bitsdujour for making it available.

Scott Bernadot Hi Alain,

Thank you so much for your kindness and willingness to share your experience. It is greatly appreciated, and mostly I am happy to hear the plugin is making your life easier! That's what it is all about.

- Scott

Bernadot Studios, LLC - Jan 30 2012 at 9:49am Copy Link

Alain Lesage The pleasure is all mine, Scott. In fact, I got a free copy of your plugin and tried it on a site. I was so glad of what I found that I went back and purchased your developper license.

I think you deserve the appreciation, although I am a bit disappointed that the more people get the plugin, the more fierce will be the competition in designing websites. ;-)

Jan 30 2012 at 10:32am Copy Link

Scott Bernadot @Alain - Haha - I hear you. The web design business in general has much lower barriers to entry with WordPress than just a couple years ago. I think WP has done to web design what Photoshop and Digital cameras have done to photography. Pretty amazing stuff. I got hooked on WordPress about 4 years ago and it completely revolutionized my web design business and my life (for the better).

Thank you again for your testimonial and your purchase :) Take care.

Scott Bernadot Hi Lotus,

LOL - those good ol' WSO will get you every time. I have a hard drive full of products too.

Well, if the theme already has shortcodes, I would advise you not to purchase this plugin. While I have done my best making this plugin compatible with most themes / plugins, I have run into consistent issues when themes have their own shortcodes. That is one reason I offer support and a 30 day refund policy too, so you don't buy something you cannot use.

I wish I had more information for you but I am not familiar with the Crystal Theme, and I, like your designer, have a full schedule too.

I do have my own multi-purpose theme that actually includes the shortcode kid plugin with it. You can see it at AlohaThemes.com (The Service Theme). Not trying to sell you something, but just letting you know its there if you are interested.

Hope that helps :) -Scott

Roberto after looking all the "Scott world" im really interested about this guy and his work.

here shines a really good job. I bookmark aloha and la crosse webdesign company for read more in detail.

great themes at aloha, with shortcode kid included, and compatibility & support assured.

today i finished my company website, but looks like i want to start another with wordpress :)

thanks for this deal... i hope you come back with wp themes too!

Scott Bernadot Hi Roberto,

Thank you for your comments. I know sometimes things can seem impersonal via a computer, but what you and others here are saying do impact me directly. I appreciate your support :)

Indeed, if BDJ is open to WP Themes, I think we can work something out. Thanks for that nudge. I will pass this along to them after the Shortcode Kid sale.

Take care - Scott

Lupke Brother Bought the developer license yesterday. Thanx for the deal!

Feb 1 2012 at 3:32am Copy Link

Roberto i bought a template from aloha, and i want to share the diferences.

the template comes with shortcode kid too, and you can use it unlimited times BUT only with that template.

if you choose the developer license today, you can use it with any project, and does not have that restriction.

bvssunnydale Hi, is this is per-user or per-machine license? Usually Bitsdujour is pretty clear about that but it's kinda a mystery today / with this. Thanks.

Feb 1 2012 at 5:12am Copy Link

Alain Lesage Hi bvssunnydale,

This offer is somewhat different from usual software offers here at bitsdujour as this is a plugin for a WordPress site. It will not work as a standalone application.

So the license is either for an install on a single website you own (single site license at the special price of 19 $) or for every website you will ever create (unlimited site license or so-called developper license at 37$). Both work only on WordPress sites (WordPress is free).

Feb 1 2012 at 6:27am Copy Link

Scott Bernadot @Adrian - Thank you! I appreciate it.

@Lupke - You are very welcome. Thank you.

@Alain / bvsunnydale - Thanks for answering that one for me Alain. You are spot on.

Steve Hudek Scott,

I use Thesis. Is you plugin compatible or useful at all with that theme?

Steve

Feb 1 2012 at 9:31am Copy Link

Scott Bernadot Hi Steve,

Thank you for your question.

I personally have never used Thesis, so I cannot say for certain. I have not had any reports of it not working with Thesis (and I have sold hundreds of these plugins), so I would assume it would work just fine.

If not, I will refund your money immediately.

Thanks again,
- Scott
